**Definition.** Driving or monitoring agents from a phone, another device or by voice, including approvals from the mobile client.

**Boundary.** Not this: see [Cloud and remote sandbox execution](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/surfaces.cloud_sessions.md) for where the agent executes.

Rated author-weeks, all agents: 912. Complaint share: 47%.

## The brief

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 from 92 labelled posts and the numbers on this page. Interpretation, not measurement: every quote is verbatim and links to its post.

**Phone control wins when the real session follows you off the desk.**

TL;DR:

- Claude Code, OpenCode and Amp lead because users can reach live sessions from their phones.
- Cursor trails on a missing Android client and mobile access limited to cloud agents.
- OpenAI Codex splits users, who praise its voice and app remote but want it in the CLI.

In plain terms: When it works, users kick off reviews, answer prompts and merge PRs from the gym or the couch. When it breaks, the host sleeps, approvals vanish, or the phone app does not exist for your platform.

### How it breaks

- **No app for your phone** ([Mobile, remote-control and voice access](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/surfaces.remote_mobile.md)). The most common failure is basic. The agent ships no mobile client, or none for Android, so the phone story ends before it starts.
Posts treat a missing native app as disqualifying. One user says a Mac-only tool with no mobile app loses by default. Cursor draws 36 Android requests on its own, and users report keystrokes not landing without a native client. Antigravity users push back on web apps as a substitute. Factory and Devin users list an iOS app at the top of their asks. Dedicated mobile apps are the single largest request on this page.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Conductor, @conductor_build, 2026-09-12: “@euboid @conductor_build it's mac only and has no mobile app currently so it literally loses by default” [source](https://twitter.com/17082063/status/2098899161051468039)
  - Complaint, Cursor, Trustpilot, 2026-09-20: “rubbish - bought via grok, hangs, no android client keystrokes dont land dont buy grok bot until they sort it” [source](https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/6aafae47651634a35d7997f0)
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-03: “and why not go get openai route and let us use our compute in a harness we pick? i mean agy is ok-ish, but no phone app? then let me plug it into a different harness that does have one. you cancelled aistudio, which prob would’ve supported agy in some way remotely. and no. web apps are not a replacement for a native app.” [source](https://twitter.com/1661162529916059648/status/2095634911503798710)
  - Complaint, Factory, @FactoryAI, 2026-09-27: “@droid @factoryai here's what's sticking out right now - no droid ios app - desktop app missing from linux - syncing missions / repos / active work between droid computers (my own not droid managed). i need to be able to shift my coding workloads off my laptop and take them everywhere with me.” [source](https://twitter.com/1382136217601417222/status/2104238899493318925)

- **Remote only reaches already-running sessions** ([Mobile, remote-control and voice access](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/surfaces.remote_mobile.md), [Cloud and remote sandbox execution](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/surfaces.cloud_sessions.md)). Remote control often attaches to a session you started at the desk, so users cannot launch fresh work from the phone.
A Claude Code user notes a remote session must already be active before the phone can send anything. Antigravity users describe conversations trapped in the IDE with no clean handoff. Codex users want to type into a Mac session from another machine. Cursor users find project conversations hidden on mobile. Starting new sessions remotely and cross-device continuity both show up as recurring requests.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Claude Code, @ClaudeDevs, 2026-09-02: “@basedpolymer @claudedevs right, but there’s no way to send that command from my phone when there is not a session that is already active. in other words, a remote control session has to already be active to send remote control” [source](https://twitter.com/1789102051286237184/status/2095233428115366158)
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-05: “@antigravity vanilla vs code + the official google antigravity extension is officially better than the standalone ag ide (and other vs code forks). haven’t touched vanilla vs code in years, but gave the ag extension a shot—it is butter smooth. the ux is clean, performance is great, and all the agentic tooling is right there. maintaining a dedicated vs code fork is a massive engineering tax. i’d much rather the google team double down on agent capabilities, models, and the core app than rebase upstream editor updates every month. the only real friction right now: remote control. having to keep the ag desktop app running makes sense for local compute, but having conversations "trapped" in the ide without a seamless handoff to remote control is the next big hurdle to solve. anyone else ditching the standalone ide for the vs code extension? what am i missing? 👇” [source](https://twitter.com/970484860463845376/status/2096235026362904602)
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app, 2026-09-10: “hey @thsottiaux - i want to be able to control/type to my codex sessions on my mac mini from my pc, directly through another instance of the codex app running on windows.” [source](https://twitter.com/1455981066/status/2097853450025394613)
  - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-11: “@cursor_ai @bot this doesn’t seem to work on mobile, so project conversations are completely hidden. any ideas on when this will be available on the mobile app? projects on the go would be amazing, even better than regular threads on mobile” [source](https://twitter.com/2246026693/status/2098390582112502250)

- **Host sleeps, approvals never arrive** ([Mobile, remote-control and voice access](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/surfaces.remote_mobile.md)). Phone control depends on a desktop staying awake and relaying prompts, and users report both links failing silently.
Codex users say their machine sleeps despite keep-awake settings, locking them out until they get home. One built a workaround utility to keep the laptop up. An Antigravity user waited on a task because the permission request never reached the remote web page. Reliable connections show up as their own request across Claude Code, Antigravity, Codex and Cursor.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-13: “keep this pc awake is clicked and the power is set to never hibernate or sleep. but it happens while i am using the computer now. it only ever works directly after i connect the phone and then stops working” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wekixa/help_with_codex_cli_remote_and_console_delays/p9m7u60/)
  - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-06: “i had the opposite problem! remote in codex was a breeze and i still haven’t managed to get claude playing ball. one annoyance i did have was that my macbook would sometimes sleep despite all my codex settings saying it shouldn’t, so i’d be totally locked out. to get about it, i had codex build me a menu bar utility around \`caffeinate\` that doesn’t sleep the machine while chatgpt.app is running.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w8wspv/easy_remotecontrol_option/p85vi54/)
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-12: “@antigravity hmm task took forever.. it was waiting on a remote task - file permission on local mac mini.... the permission request never came through to the remote web page! weird!” [source](https://twitter.com/1313531742951669761/status/2098877187181138188)

- **Mobile web feels like an afterthought** ([Mobile, remote-control and voice access](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/surfaces.remote_mobile.md)). Browser and PWA remotes get users connected, but cramped layouts and missing controls make them a stopgap rather than a tool.
OpenCode users find the model chooser covering the enter button on small screens. An Antigravity user running a headless daemon lost settings and terminal access in the remote web UI after recent changes. Others describe connect-style web access as workable but unloved on mobile. Users who like web remotes tend to value the lack of an install, not the experience itself.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-11: “i've found opencode web inconvenient on smartphone screen, enter button is overlaid by model chooser.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wdh0x8/i_cant_decide/p95z71f/)
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-23: “i primarily use antigravity through remote control with a headless agy daemon (as detailed here: <strict_link>) running on a dev server. this has worked really well up until recently where there's been a couple of changes that have limited it's use: * i can no longer control the system settings from within the remote control web interface - how do i enable overages if i need to? or how do i control permissions, both on a project level and global? * as far as i can tell, when using the remote control web ui in this way, there's no way to access the terminal as you can when using the standalone 2.0 app. any advice or help would be appreciated.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wo0uvp/agydaemon/)
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app, 2026-09-27: “thx for sharing! i’m having fun with codex cli building out desktop apps on pi5 for each of the harnesses i want to try out (fx, pi, etc.). remotely using codex with pi connect from my browser for now to get things going since it was so easy to set up, but don’t love the mobile web experience of connect and will try other ways to ssh in directly to pi5 soon. adding t3 code to my list. wasn’t loving t3 chat a few months back (granted it has def been a while) so wasn’t paying too much attention there recently. appreciate the suggestion” [source](https://twitter.com/746154863814414337/status/2104319969148260586)
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-08: “for me it is entirely lack of a proper remote execution ios app. the chatgpt app has codex with remote execution, claude has claude code with remote control, gemini and agy have some afterthought bullshit chrome web app that works roughly 20% of the time. there are obviously tasks where i want to be at a keyboard, but for toil i want to be able to tell an agent “go review pr 123”, “trace this error”, “triage git issues and stack rank them”, etc. i don’t want to be in termius typing into a mobile terminal or some desktop-first hacky port to a mobile chrome app. if i could do it in the gemini app i would send the majority of my agentic tasks to antigravity. but i can’t, so i use codex and claude” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1waolu4/why_does_antigravity_have_so_few_users/p8lhlv1/)

- **The phone covers toil, not real work** ([Mobile, remote-control and voice access](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/surfaces.remote_mobile.md)). Users treat mobile as a supervision surface. Complex tasks still pull them back to a full screen.
A Claude Code user says remote helps little because something always needs the PC. An Amp user describes reading the file list instead of the diff on the phone and deferring anything risky. Another says a couple of idle minutes in line are not enough to be useful. Users also want context and usage limits visible on the phone so they can judge what to delegate.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Claude Code, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-24: “i do complex stuff and the remote helps very little because there is always something that needs to be done in pc and can not be done through the mobile app.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wls9ul/would_you_actually_use_claude_code_from_your/pbpwagp/)
  - Complaint, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-03: “@genaiupstart @jkudish @ampcode the phone part breaks for me too. i read the file list first instead of the diff, then open only the one file carrying the risky change. if i cannot name the file that would fail, i leave it until i am back at a proper screen.” [source](https://twitter.com/2018629022041653248/status/2095446244906721498)
  - Complaint, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-11: “@ampcode e.g. like doing some errands, you have like a couple minutes waiting in line, waiting for uber or even a quick break. does not work, doomscrolling is a better use of the time. fyi @sqs” [source](https://twitter.com/1857935142670450688/status/2098371616363204748)
  - Complaint, Claude Code, @ClaudeDevs, 2026-09-25: “@claudedevs that's a nice touch. you should also allow us to see context and usage limits when working remotely via our mobile phones.” [source](https://twitter.com/80448635/status/2103567991111917780)

### Who stands out

- **Claude Code (stronger)**. Built-in remote control is the reference point other agents get measured against. Competitors' users ask for its slash command by name.
Users run multiple sessions on home servers and steer them from the phone all day. The TUI holds up on mobile, and an iOS update gave direct access to project sessions. Codex and Cursor users cite the remote-control feature as the reason Claude feels more convenient. The friction is anxiety about updates removing access, plus the requirement that a session already be running.
  Evidence:
  - Praise, Claude Code, r/vibecoding, 2026-09-05: “i have multiple claude code open on home servers with remote control on in tmux windows for access and resetting. i'm constantly using my phone.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/vibecoding/comments/1w7rwth/whats_your_mobile_cross_device_vibecoding_workflow/p7ztfln/)
  - Praise, Claude Code, @ClaudeDevs, 2026-09-24: “@claudedevs for anyone wondering; updated to ios 27 and everything is good. actually much better! now have access to claude code project sessions directly.” [source](https://twitter.com/14092608/status/2103132004233711724)
  - Complaint, Claude Code, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-16: “remote control is working fine, i can access multiple sessions on my android app at this very moment. am i one update away from losing access to it?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1whufx7/please_roll_back_gating_claude_code_web_behind/pa56dy4/)
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app, 2026-09-25: “@thsottiaux any chance you folks are planning on introducing /remote-control into codex cli? that'd be awesome to have at this point. claude is so much more convenient because of this feature alone, not only opus 5.5.” [source](https://twitter.com/1586658432006127619/status/2103277042330677273)

- **Amp (stronger)**. Amp's iOS app wins on polish and speed, and users call it snappy even in beta.
Users report clearing Sentry alerts and shipping UI from the phone during downtime. Pairing it with Tailscale to reach Mac-mini services works smoothly, per posts. One user was surprised Amp beat Devin to a usable mobile app. Complaints are about what any phone allows, such as short breaks being too short and diffs being hard to review, rather than the app itself.
  Evidence:
  - Praise, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-19: “@ampcode oh shit they have a mobile app too and it's just as snappy i'm shocked they beat devin in this regard” [source](https://twitter.com/2016294660658941952/status/2101368035558736117)
  - Praise, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-04: “orbing with @ampcode and @tailscale so that they can access my mac-mini hosted services, and much more. just set this up today, very smooth. amp orbs is an exceptional product experience. the ios app really did the trick for me. even as a beta, it is tremendously polished. well done! and great to see the cross-orb multi agent collaboration, will explore it with astra.” [source](https://twitter.com/1637683046395592705/status/2096019293343252626)
  - Praise, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-04: “used @ampcode orbs on my phone during college move in down time yesterday (dad's are usually done once everything is carried in and assembled). even without access to astra 😀, it was still highly productive and allowed me to knock off a few sentry alerts.” [source](https://twitter.com/15023/status/2095867783326158947)
  - Praise, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-03: “@toolmantim @ampcode shipping ui from the phone still feels illegal” [source](https://twitter.com/36312769/status/2095526879176392890)

- **OpenCode (stronger)**. OpenCode wins with a self-hosted web UI. The agent stays on your machine and the phone gets a lightweight front end.
Users pair the v2 web UI with Tailscale or WireGuard and report shipping across several home machines from a phone. They prefer it over full remote desktop because answering a prompt needs little UI. The gap is packaging. Newcomers are surprised there is no mobile app, and some see it as too low-level next to Codex.
  Evidence:
  - Praise, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-25: “try the app too (or access the web from your phone) ... amazing to give instructions or ask questions to agents on the go” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wpt89d/opencode_desktop_vs_opencode_v2_desktop_vs/pc02d39/)
  - Praise, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-01: “this is the direction i prefer over full remote desktop. keep the agent and filesystem on the actual machine, then expose a small web ui for the useful actions. remote desktop works, but on a phone it's a lot of ui just to answer a prompt or check whether an agent finished.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1vyc20q/run_opencode_remotely_and_access_via_web/p78n6l8/)
  - Praise, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-14: “i still cannot believe this is even possible. shipping across multiple projects running across multiple computers at home using just my phone and ipad while commuting to work. thank you hermes (@nousresearch) + @opencode + @herdrdev + @tailscale ❤️❤️❤️ <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/2093733056423301120/status/2099515480079995255)
  - Complaint, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-06: “@skoshx @opencode there's a huge gap in features between codex and opencode. where is the opencode mobile app? remote? cloud agents? opencode is way too low level and i've found it very unstable as a low level harness? sure, similar to pi, yes but comparable to cc/codex? not by a long shot” [source](https://twitter.com/803236325877022720/status/2096690706110722404)

- **Cursor (weaker)**. Cursor's iOS app is loved, but the phone only drives cloud agents. Android users get nothing at all.
iPhone users praise launching and merging cloud-agent PRs on the go, and one calls it a buying requirement. The complaints split cleanly. Users want to drive machine agents for Mac-specific work, and Android owners keep hitting a missing client. Others note Cursor has not matched Claude's remote-control feature for local sessions.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Cursor, r/cursor, 2026-09-12: “i use it all the time and love it. i just wish you could use machine agents instead of just cloud ones through the mobile app. it’s a limiter for mac-specific development.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wdbetr/anyone_using_cursor_mobile/p9cda9z/)
  - Praise, Cursor, r/cursor, 2026-09-11: “using the ios app has been a pleasure. it has spoiled me to the extent that it has become a major requirment for me for choosing ai subscriptions. on the go cloud agents is the way to go” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wdbetr/anyone_using_cursor_mobile/p94vtq4/)
  - Complaint, Cursor, Trustpilot, 2026-09-20: “rubbish - bought via grok, hangs, no android client keystrokes dont land dont buy grok bot until they sort it” [source](https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/6aafae47651634a35d7997f0)
  - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-16: “i'm surprised that @cursor_ai did not match the /remote-control feature from @claudeai yet!” [source](https://twitter.com/52804915/status/2100179943246205341)

- **OpenAI Codex (mixed)**. Codex leads on voice and app-based remote, but CLI users keep asking for the remote control Claude already has.
Users call voice control far ahead and praise agent phone calls. Long reviews run fine from the phone. Remote pairing exists for CLI sessions, yet many users either miss it or want a native slash command, making CLI remote the top Codex request here. Some users still rate its app and remote experience below Claude's, and sleep issues on the host cut sessions off.
  Evidence:
  - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-23: “opus 5.5 is sipping usage and blowing away astra. chatgpt models are just my delegates and adversarial review bots again. codex is still so far ahead in voice control though.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wnkoh8/anyone_tried_gpt6_sol_yet/pbhyz9h/)
  - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-27: “codex remote works for cli sessions too. that said i prefer the ui too. codex remote-control pair codex remote-control start” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrgwlq/update_broken_no_problem/pcdh1ar/)
  - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-04: “i had it do a full project code review, it ran for 58 minutes and it used 45% of the five hour limit on a plus plan. not as bad as i thought it was gonna be, especially run remotely from my phone while sitting at home.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w7eu6n/gpt6_astra_is_blazingly_fast/p7vlvua/)
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-07: “this is honestly my biggest hangup with codex right now. their app and remote experience is considerably worse” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1w8h2mj/i_thought_i_will_never_say_this_about_fable/p8egaoz/)

### Fine print

- Most agents below the top six have too few posts on this criterion to rank with confidence.
- Android demand is concentrated in Cursor posts, so it may overstate platform gaps elsewhere.
- Voice-mode feedback is thin and mostly about Codex, so voice conclusions are tentative.

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 470 author-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by Claude Sonnet 5 reads every counted post and extracts what the author asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. Claude Opus 5.5 groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes; code counts them. A theme counts distinct author-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one author-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 author-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different authors, without slurs, preferring posts of 60 to 450 characters, most recent first.

### 4. Built-in remote control feature

- Claude Code, 2026-09-27, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs - so with the remote control feature on claude code, wouldn’t it be super sick to also be able to see live current local sessions in the same directory you’re using rc with? ideally, you could respond to prompts, see agent status and ensure it’s on the right track, etc. best workflow ever would be seamless workflows and live server previews for the directory on the app, with viewport control.” [source](https://twitter.com/1919113935665725440/status/2104316259294695424)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-09-27, @antigravity (X): “why on earth does antigravity rely on a temporary short link for remote control? why can’t this be natively integrated into gemini app? @officiallogank @antigravity @geminiapp” [source](https://twitter.com/1843269059691081728/status/2104195009679704172)

### 5. Conversational voice mode

- Claude Code, 2026-09-26, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs i'd prefer having a reliable voice mode first or options to use third party stt.” [source](https://twitter.com/1870719136005066752/status/2103790871791669547)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-25, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “just using tts is not enough. i already tried with mac's \`say\` command. i want to have a quick voice conversation q&a after cc implemented a bunch of code. you can just continue q&a text conversation after implementation in the same session, but it consumes context a lot and the response is too slow when you use high or xhigh effort.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wow0qc/is_there_a_way_to_review_claude_codes_work/pbvozo0/)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-23, r/opencode (Reddit): “i like the idea. i'm currently actually looking for a chatgpt voice experience. a model & a tooling around where i can freely talk and also barge in. just for casual talk like chatgpt voice offers, but with privacy and without limits. that'd be cool.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wnstna/im_building_native_local_voice_input_for_opencode/pbnfykq/)

### 6. SSH and remote machine development

- Pi, 2026-09-23, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “cool, i’ll give it a try! i currently use herdr with pi, so it’s nice to see another app that’s more focused specifically on pi. i haven’t checked yet, but does orbit support remote sessions? i often run agents on a vm or a remote mac, so being able to connect to pi sessions running there would be really useful. if it doesn’t support that yet, is it something you’re planning?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1woela9/orbit_pi_v0015_is_out/pbn32fu/)
- Pi, 2026-09-23, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “can it connect to an already running pi inside a tmux session? i use it for ssh access but it'd be nice to have a desktop app interact with it as well when i'm at my seat.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wmd8ez/pi_desktop_a_desktop_gui_for_the_piomp_coding/pbi0ts7/)

### 7. Native iOS app

- Factory, 2026-09-27, @FactoryAI (X): “@droid @factoryai here's what's sticking out right now - no droid ios app - desktop app missing from linux - syncing missions / repos / active work between droid computers (my own not droid managed). i need to be able to shift my coding workloads off my laptop and take them everywhere with me.” [source](https://twitter.com/1382136217601417222/status/2104238899493318925)
- Conductor, 2026-09-24, r/conductorbuild (Reddit): “yeah i was sarcastic. it drives me crazy. the review button moves every update, the model selector changes, plan mode button is gone, etc. they keep changing shit that is fine and meanwhile there’s still no ios app 😭” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/conductorbuild/comments/1wp7deq/favourite_thing_in_conductor/pbszn7p/)

### 8. Remote control support in the CLI

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “dear @chatgpt why is it so difficult to attach the desktop client / phone app to a running codex cli session.” [source](https://twitter.com/7079062/status/2103865914370208136)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-25, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@thsottiaux any chance you folks are planning on introducing /remote-control into codex cli? that'd be awesome to have at this point. claude is so much more convenient because of this feature alone, not only opus 5.5.” [source](https://twitter.com/1586658432006127619/status/2103277042330677273)

### 9. Cross-device session handoff and continuity

- Claude Code, 2026-09-27, @ClaudeDevs (X): “what can't remote control in claude code be more like codex. i can't start new threads on my machine remotely. i can't access old threads. @claudedevs” [source](https://twitter.com/165334533/status/2104187645761142809)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-23, @opencode (X): “am i the only idiot who can't find a proper way to do remote-control of @opencode sessions? would love to be able to start work at any of my work stations and carry on synced sessions in the phone until i return home... 🤯” [source](https://twitter.com/48353286/status/2102841452502077916)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-23, @ClaudeDevs (X): “wondering why the remote session that i started from mobile isn’t updated to opus 5.5. it’s because the rc tab i have in warp that’s been going for five days needs to be restarted. @claudedevs more reason to have the desktop app as the bridge. <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/227366159/status/2102613661529612777)

### 10. Improved mobile app UX

- OpenCode, 2026-09-27, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “i want to connect to my open code instance from my android device, i successfully connected my ubuntu server with oepncode mobile from alvarolorentedev it works perfectly but the ui/ux on this app is realy bad any alternatives?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wrh1pw/what_the_best_opencode_app_for_android/)
- Amp, 2026-09-26, @AmpCode (X): “spent a week in the yucatan using @ampcode on my iphone. no cell, wifi in one room. orbs were great. only complaint is with the ux. copying text was difficult, puck kept closing every time i went to another app, and the widget bar at the top of the project chat was fiddly.” [source](https://twitter.com/610281461/status/2103902448830070922)
- Cursor, 2026-09-23, r/cursor (Reddit): “agree cursor has the best overall integrated agentic workflow. even more so now with grok bot. if only they could make origin codebase easy to use, improve the mobile app, and get a proper frontier model” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1woad6b/grok_47_performance_in_cursor/pbo2fhm/)

### 11. Start new sessions remotely

- Claude Code, 2026-09-27, @ClaudeDevs (X): “what can't remote control in claude code be more like codex. i can't start new threads on my machine remotely. i can't access old threads. @claudedevs” [source](https://twitter.com/165334533/status/2104187645761142809)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-24, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@canyonaro @zechcodes @simplicity @kelvinkms_com @claudedevs thanks but that's for existing sessions. i can't start a new cc session from my phone, without having run claude -rc in powershell/terminal first (i know i can automate that, but you don't have to with codex)” [source](https://twitter.com/1477530177739632641/status/2102967489072128401)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-22, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@robertjbye i loose remote control access on mac at least a couple times a week. i have codex app running side by side and it survives. it would be really nice to just connect to the machine and start a new session in any folder of the os.” [source](https://twitter.com/945912613053050881/status/2102202545544245687)

### 12. Reliable, bug-free remote control connections

- Amp, 2026-09-24, @AmpCode (X): “@sqs @ianlandsman @ampcode i will try tailscale as well, curious how that fits together. but it would be great if portals would be fast and usable. what causes the slowness here? it's one of the main things that's keeping me from moving everything to amp.” [source](https://twitter.com/1330980620617601026/status/2103028237299290550)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-09-21, @antigravity (X): “@antigravity @google @geminiapp till last day this feature was available. i could manage everything from my mobile remotely . not the feature gone. please keep the feature in antigravity remote control <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/1394121746463170562/status/2101998006107279766)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-17, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i'm sorry but remote control in the chatgpt app is way better than claude. you do one thing and have full control. claudes remote control is stupid and they need to fix it.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1win4xv/im_so_sad_rn/pabpwha/)

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “very good, if you host it on a server or leave your computer running you can use it with it’s webui or with the ios/android app without losing access to any features from opencode. it’s helped me immensely and i’d strongly recommend at least trying it. also frequent updates and not buggy on the whole ,” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wrgmfe/whats_the_deal_with_openchamber/pccaety/)

- Praise, 2026-09-26, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “so many things that i needed to figure out but claude would help if i asked. here's my list. getting a macbook so i could have xcode. i did it all on a macbook neo i boughjt my wife for her bday in the summer understanding what game egine to use. i went with godot because it was completely free. figuring out that i needed blender and textures to give to claude just writing a plan each night and setting up claude to work all night when i would go” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wqfarg/my_son_and_i_made_a_smashstyle_fighter_starring/pc3qoe6/)

### OpenAI Codex

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “because i use the remote access through the phone app while codex is doing its thing on the machine. i already have the cli and ssh set up, but i don’t want to ssh in every time. the desktop/app workflow is more convenient for how i use it.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrgwlq/update_broken_no_problem/pccf1vu/)

- Complaint, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “i’d probably use both for a while before fully jumping ship. codex is really nice if you already prefer gpt models and spend most of your time living in the terminal. for ssh-heavy work especially, that workflow feels very natural because you’re basically already where codex wants to be. but cursor still has a big advantage in the whole product side. cloud agents, ide integration, jumping between models, reviewing diffs visually, starting somethi” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqc1hq/thinking_of_moving_to_codex_from_cursor/pc3ts04/)
