## The brief

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 from 110 labelled posts and the numbers on this page. Interpretation, not measurement: every quote is verbatim and links to its post.

**Installing is easy. Wiring in your own models and tools is not.**

TL;DR:

- Pi and Claude Code win praise for built-ins and hooks that slot into real workflows.
- OpenAI Codex, Google Antigravity and Zed draw complaints about config friction, sign-in failures and missing providers.
- Bring-your-own-key is the big draw here, and updates often break it.

In plain terms: Getting an agent to launch is rarely the problem. The pain comes later. An update breaks your local model, an MCP server flakes, sign-in stops working, or the docs skip the one setting you need.

### How it breaks

- **Sign-in fails and platforms lag** ([Install, launch and sign-in](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/setup.install_signin.md)). Users hit locked accounts, glitchy auth flows and desktop apps that skip Linux or trail on Windows.
The most basic step still blocks people. A paid Google Antigravity user reports the IDE will not accept a pro account. A Claude Code user says the auth link disrupted browser audio during login. Cline's new desktop app pulls interest but leaves Linux and Windows users waiting on the VS Code extension. Linux desktop support is the single largest request in this area, and most of it targets Cline.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Cline, @cline, 2026-09-26: “@cline would love to try cline, but there is no linux desktop version.” [source](https://twitter.com/1601711797/status/2103693469474844955)
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-26: “@antigravity has anything changed regarding antigravity ide? not able to sign in with my pro account. <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/1387740075316977667/status/2103814249047011535)
  - Complaint, Cline, @cline, 2026-09-14: “@cline i will continue to use cline on visual studio until the windows cline app will work similarly. i am waiting” [source](https://twitter.com/1490321932834820097/status/2099586047097131419)
  - Complaint, Claude Code, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-17: “i noticed on the last round, the claude auth link was doing some kind of audio fuckery with my browser / sound. all other sound outputs glitched while it was working.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wilyyk/the_maddening_reauth_process/pabxw5u/)

- **Local models break after updates** ([Connecting own API keys, local models and custom endpoints](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/setup.provider_byok_local.md)). Custom endpoints and local servers are a top reason to pick an agent, and a frequent casualty of new releases.
Posts show local and bring-your-own-key setups that worked yesterday and fail today. An OpenCode v2 update left one user with no visible way to reconnect a local llama-server. A GitHub Copilot user could not get a custom endpoint working. Amp's new BYOK mode returns server errors for one subscription. When these paths work, users love them. When they break, nothing in the UI explains why.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-16: “this broke my local llama-server setup. i don't see any way to connect to it in v2 with /models or /connect??” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1we5v3x/opencode_20_is_out/pa3v09h/)
  - Complaint, GitHub Copilot, r/GithubCopilot, 2026-09-20: “i couldn't get the custom endpoint to work. but i do use openrouter, so i will definitely try adding my together.ai key. thanks.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wjw01d/copilot_with_togetherai_provider/pb2708g/)
  - Complaint, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-13: “hey @ampcode is opencode go sub working in the new byok mode? i get internal server error when i try to use it” [source](https://twitter.com/2462114703/status/2099162573719437776)
  - Complaint, Cline, r/GoogleAntigravityIDE, 2026-09-13: “current set of models are not sufficient for many tasks. google should provide provide external model access like openrouter etc into antigravity ide . already tried using external extension like cline , but it looses context since need to switch from inbuilt agent” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleAntigravityIDE/comments/1wfggsj/provide_external_model_access_like_openrouter_etc/)

- **MCP and plugins work until they don't** ([MCP servers, plugins, skills and hooks](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/setup.extensions_mcp.md)). Extensions add real power, but users report flaky MCP connections, settings silently reset, and plugin ecosystems that are hard to navigate.
An OpenAI Codex user asks the vendor to fix MCP reliability first. Another says updates sometimes disable features remotely, so they have to switch them back on by hand. Pi users praise tailored tooling but find a confusing pile of overlapping packages. Cursor users warn that skills can trigger when you only meant a slash command. Extensions widen what the agent can do. They also widen what can go wrong.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app, 2026-09-04: “hey @sama any reason y’all don’t point astra at <strict_link> and let it fix some long standing codex cli issues? mcp reliability would be a great place to start. thanks in advance 😁” [source](https://twitter.com/158734556/status/2095880917898203151)
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-04: “no, no, you don't make the change, openai disables them remotely sometimes during updates so you gotta enable them back up manually.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w7adqt/max_effort_gone/p7tmw7m/)
  - Complaint, Pi, r/PiCodingAgent, 2026-09-26: “also, no, i don't mind pi's minimalism though i like the appearance of opencode. it's that the ecosystem is challenging to navigate because of a bewildering number of packages that sometimes offer overlapping capabilities.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wqh2u4/ohmypi_or_opencode_why/pc47ifa/)
  - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-18: “@letscallsal @cursor_ai the flag is the whole point. once a slash recipe becomes a skill without disable-model-invocation, the agent starts pulling it when you only meant /name.” [source](https://twitter.com/2061779435557117952/status/2100999843342688384)

- **Docs skip the setting you need** ([Onboarding, discoverability and documentation](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/setup.onboarding_docs.md)). Users report config options that exist but go undocumented, which sends them to forums or to burning tokens asking another model.
An OpenCode user confirms a feature is supported but finds no instructions for the config. Another burned a chunk of usage asking Claude how to log into OpenCode web v2 and still got no answer. Devin users ask for a basic setup guide. Pi users say a plugin's internals are opaque. The gap is rarely missing features. It is missing explanations.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-03: “i checked and it should support disabling thinking. i can't find any clear instructions on how to disable it in the config.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1w62dqj/how_to_turn_off_deepseek_model_thinking_using_the/p7jmvnq/)
  - Complaint, OpenCode, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-21: “<strict_link> i just asked claude sonnet 5 how to login to opencode web v2, because can't find proper info in their docs. fresh start of the fresh week. took out 25% of 5h and 3% of weekly. i'm on team premium seat. by the way. i didn't get the answer. all plans are scam right now.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wm2zcn/5x_max_plan_is_great_value/pb3uf1v/)
  - Complaint, Devin, @cognition, 2026-09-11: “@dabit3 @cognition @devinai is there a guide or something on getting this setup? would love to give it a go :)” [source](https://twitter.com/1933004142601277440/status/2098207544443588814)
  - Complaint, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-23: “@pidotdev out of box it does not seem clear how it works under the hood (nothing in description other than ffmpeg). here is my implementation: <strict_link> much less feature reach, but covers same use cases with clear explanation” [source](https://twitter.com/1301159388690907136/status/2102771324137419258)

- **IDE extensions feel second-rate** ([IDE and editor integration](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/setup.ide_integration.md)). Agents that ship a VS Code extension alongside their own app often get complaints that the extension is buggier and slower.
A Google Antigravity user reports repeated git index errors and missing line-change views in the VS Code extension. A Cursor user calls the extensions a second-rate offering. A GitHub Copilot user says the Claude Code plugin in VS Code is faster and less buggy. Zed users want code-hosting integrations it does not yet offer. Users choose an editor and expect the agent to fit it, not the reverse.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-07: “i really like antigravity but using the extension in vsc is awful, many time i get the error fatal: index file smaller than expected, and can't see lines changed” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1w637hk/antigravity_20_release_v2120/p89v49y/)
  - Complaint, Cursor, r/cursor, 2026-09-03: “if you use 90% claude models, you should be on a claude sub for sure. for me, cursor’s usp is the ide (for how much longer, i dunno). first party models are genuinely good workhorses and - right now at least - access to loads of models from the one sub (until openai shuts the door). i make heavy use of bugbot but equally the claude code review skills are excellent (though i don’t think you can plug them into github actions without an enterprise plan) if the vscode extensions weren’t such a second rate offering, i’d probably be on a claude or openai sub only” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1w6b34p/cursor_claude_code_codex/p7mjlyg/)
  - Complaint, GitHub Copilot, r/GithubCopilot, 2026-09-27: “with opus 5.5 out now and sonnet 5.5 and haiku 5.5 not far behind, a claude pro subscription is way better value. not to mention the claude code plugin in vs code is faster and less buggy than github copilot.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wr5io2/best_cheaper_alternative/pcbmqn2/)
  - Complaint, Zed, r/ZedEditor, 2026-09-16: “crazy to me there are still no meaningful integrations to code hosting platforms like pr reviews and issue viewing, not even through extensions. turned me away from zed even though i like many other aspects of it. curious to see where this goes” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZedEditor/comments/1whv207/i_love_zed_but/pa8238i/)

- **Single-account setups frustrate switchers** ([Install, launch and sign-in](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/setup.install_signin.md), [Connecting own API keys, local models and custom endpoints](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/setup.provider_byok_local.md)). People juggling several subscriptions want easy account switching, and posts show tools that block it.
Multi-account support is a top request, led by OpenAI Codex users. Devin users report errors when several accounts connect to the same GitHub organization, and say they cannot switch between two subscriptions inside one chat. OpenCode wins praise for the opposite: one place to sign into Copilot, Codex and a local server with shared skills and MCP config.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Devin, @cognition, 2026-09-24: “@cognition in devin is there a way that multiple individual accounts can connect to the same github organization? if multiple accounts try they will get this. <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/39675957/status/2102993524337594760)
  - Complaint, Devin, @DevinAI, 2026-09-11: “@leodev @devinai @devindesktop the only problem (like maybe other tools that lets you connect other sub in one tool) is that you can't use 2 subs in the same chat, so if you use codex agent, you can't then change it to claude in the same chat.” [source](https://twitter.com/1766946333821206528/status/2098212363144946168)
  - Praise, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-18: “i have a github copilot license at work, a codex license, opencode zen and a local server with qwen 3.8 flash next. opencode lets me use all of them in a single place to have my skills, saved commands, mcp etc. and i even get the same subsidization i would on codex since you use an account sign in and not an api key. i don’t mind other harnesses this is just the one i learned since it’s a one-stop shop so i’m used to its commands. i have been using copilot cli and liked that too, and the codex one isn’t bad it’s just least intuitive to me. pi seems to minimal, and i’m not allowed to use deepseek harness at work anyway.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wj13ox/what_is_the_reason_you_use_opencode_instead_of/paij539/)

### Who stands out

- **Pi (stronger)**. Users praise how much works without installing anything, though some want more defaults out of the box.
Posts describe a smooth first run with features built in rather than bolted on, and tooling users can trim to fit each project. Non-technical users get value quickly. The flip side is a split camp: some call it unusable out of the box and resent installing extensions for agents and tasks. Its minimalism is the selling point and the main complaint.
  Evidence:
  - Praise, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-22: “@prob_fishing @pidotdev i've just recently used it but i realised you don't actually have to install plugins, etc. which is very interesting. it's all in-built, and the experience is very smooth.” [source](https://twitter.com/1492053555381174280/status/2102414835229282718)
  - Praise, Pi, r/PiCodingAgent, 2026-09-02: “tools need to be tailored to the project needs. pi allows for that beautifully. e.g. playwright on the console + minimal skill to use it is just ballast if you don’t need to interact with a ui. but if you do it’s indispensable. i’m not surprised by these results but it’s a nice confirmation” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1w593fd/i_benchmarked_pi_against_its_own_fork_omp_more/p7d7k1j/)
  - Praise, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-03: “@pidotdev @jakob_ebe love seeing how non-technical folks are getting value out of this. it really shows how much the barrier to entry has dropped for these kinds of tools.” [source](https://twitter.com/126916586/status/2095489979460030906)
  - Complaint, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-01: “@pidotdev add agents and task support out of the box. why i had to install 2 extensions already for this usecase.” [source](https://twitter.com/1547527916401082368/status/2094791215086735828)

- **Claude Code (stronger)**. Hooks, skills and plugin submission give users a real extension surface they wire into CI and review pipelines.
Users say hooks turn the agent from a chat loop into something that plugs into CI gates and eval pipelines. Skills and editor integrations, like a Neovim annotation bridge, show up in daily workflows. Easier plugin submission draws applause. Not every hook lands cleanly. One user reports a hook that throws a flood of errors.
  Evidence:
  - Praise, Claude Code, @ClaudeDevs, 2026-09-04: “@claudedevs this is the missing piece. hooks turn claude code from a chat-with-files loop into something you can actually pin to a ci gate, a code-review bot, or your own eval pipeline. excited to test.” [source](https://twitter.com/2028308162382901248/status/2095881810945413290)
  - Praise, Claude Code, @ClaudeDevs, 2026-09-26: “@claudedevs big step for claude developers. making plugin submission and tracking this easy should unlock a lot more innovation.” [source](https://twitter.com/313123169/status/2103967888310759430)
  - Praise, Claude Code, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-03: “<strict_link> it exposes tools for your harness to interact with neovim's highlight and annotation features. i have a few skills to refine how it gets used, like stopping per-file or step and how to write multi-line annotation, but it's been a big help keeping claude honest about the what and why while allowing me to provide extra guidance as we walk around the changes. you could use it during planning or part of the code review process.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1w0l2f0/how_are_yous_reviewing_the_code_claude_writes/p7nt64z/)
  - Praise, Claude Code, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-19: “the efficient-fable skill works well for me. lots in this repo are in my daily driver list including plow ahead, quick recap, and read the damn docs. <strict_link>” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wjmx3z/wait_is_fable_orchestration_using_appropriate/paoy0ep/)

- **OpenAI Codex (weaker)**. Users describe configuration that leaves them lost, a codebase too tangled to customise, and no custom plugin path yet.
One user is stuck simply configuring things. Another tried to patch the open-source harness, gave up on inconsistent settings and half-working features, and moved to Pi. A third forks out of frustration because custom plugins are not supported. MCP itself gets real praise when it connects. Multi-account switching is the agent's largest request here, with 26 asking.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-14: “im definitely going to have to consider h to is however i’m still absolutely stuck on just getting simple tasks done with codex and configuring things that it just has me at a lost right now.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wftqej/trying_codex_for_the_first_time_very_frustrating/p9p7dbn/)
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-15: “the codex harness repo is such a bloated mess riddled with so many useless tests, weird bugs, stupid side-effects, inconsistent settings and things that half-work, that i am convinced they have llms doing 99% of the work and just go "lgtm" all day at openai, at least since sometime around gpt-5.2. i tried customising it and fixing some issues i noticed but had to give up, since i have work to do. there is no salvaging that spaghetti. ended up just moving to pi instead, since it ranks well and is free and open-source. [public benchmarks also show that codex sucks balls compared to literally anything else even for openai models, let alone as a harness for other llms](<strict_link>)” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wgzmul/coding_benchmarks_should_also_reward_the_leanest/p9zoty2/)
  - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app, 2026-08-31: “@did1k @tibudiyanto yes, pi it seems can and maybe opencode. the codex cli which turns out to be open source, can be forked if the intention is strong 😬 because i can't make a custom plugin yet <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/289148476/status/2094304198141870571)
  - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-05: “i'm on plus just like you. i created a skill to use an mcp just now. it was really thorough. love astra.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w7uj5i/gpt_6_astra_is_genuinely_unusuable_on_plus/p7y0jw9/)

- **Google Antigravity (weaker)**. Sign-in failures and a Gemini-only lock-in in the CLI dominate complaints, even among users who like the tools.
Paid users report they cannot sign in. Fixing login failures is a bigger request for Antigravity than for any other agent. A CLI fan calls the terminal UI well designed, then had to hack a protocol bridge to run anything beyond Gemini. Subscribers want bundled Google tools inside the app. The IDE does allow other agents, which users note approvingly.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-26: “@antigravity has anything changed regarding antigravity ide? not able to sign in with my pro account. <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/1387740075316977667/status/2103814249047011535)
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-21: “there’s a lot to like about @antigravity cli it has all the hot staff like remote control and /voice but i really like the tui — rich diffs, artifacts, diagrams, /agents and /tasks panels. feels intentionally designed terminal app, not a chat transcript poured into ansi only problem google restricts it to gemini recently @shengzheyao exposed google_gemini_base_url. it speaks the older gemini `generatecontent` format, so i added that protocol to swobu. now i can run unpatched w/ local qwen + openai for web-search fallback.” [source](https://twitter.com/880570939779555328/status/2102112135958667386)
  - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-17: “@rodydavis @uzerkayat @antigravity i have google ai pro subscription but i can't even use all of those google features like google flow, google stitch, google ai studio, google jules and more if you guys add all of these directly into the antigravity it will help users a lot.” [source](https://twitter.com/2012729139296657408/status/2100409046067261754)
  - Praise, Google Antigravity, r/cursor, 2026-09-25: “just use the antigravity ide. it's a fork of vscode as well. you can choose what agents you want to use for moments when you need a little help - so your not just locked into gemini. i use claude but they even have access for open models. <strict_link>” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wosirg/its_just_getting_bad/pc0rnlg/)

- **Zed (weaker)**. Users like its speed and harness flexibility but sink time into configuration and find key integrations missing.
Posts recommend Zed for plugging in any coding harness and for routing edit predictions to a local model. Then reality: one user wasted hours configuring it and still found it unfinished for their stack. Others flag missing PR and issue integrations, and extensions that auto-download tools with no off switch. Custom model provider support is its top request here.
  Evidence:
  - Complaint, Zed, r/ZedEditor, 2026-09-17: “thanks! yeah i wasted so much time in configuring all that, and its really fast, i like some features that zed have. but somehow it's feel unfinished, at least for .net developing. cant say much for other stacks.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZedEditor/comments/1wj0n9s/net_in_zed/paexonz/)
  - Praise, Zed, r/opencodeCLI, 2026-09-22: “i never thought i’d enjoy writing code without an ide, but now i barely use zed and honestly, it feels much better. that said, if you still prefer working with an ide, i’d recommend zed. you can integrate pretty much any coding harness you want, whether it’s opencode, codex, claude code, or something else.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1t9zdv7/how_can_i_view_diffs_and_acceptreject_changes/pbebkpw/)
  - Complaint, Zed, r/ZedEditor, 2026-09-24: “again both of your comments are pointless. if i'm clicking install on an lsp extension i'm expecting it to download the lsp (or the agent runtime for an agent). i'm not familiar with the issue with zed myself, but it looked like it downloads the tools automatically and executes them, with no way of turning them off. where in vscode, auto update is turned off for all my extensions (i suppose it's the default?), so nothing is downloaded without me explicitly hitting that install or update button.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZedEditor/comments/1wosnp7/zed_still_silently_downloads_binaries_after_two/pbrf9h1/)
  - Complaint, Zed, r/ZedEditor, 2026-09-16: “crazy to me there are still no meaningful integrations to code hosting platforms like pr reviews and issue viewing, not even through extensions. turned me away from zed even though i like many other aspects of it. curious to see where this goes” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZedEditor/comments/1whv207/i_love_zed_but/pa8238i/)

### Fine print

- Posts are a sample of public feedback and skew toward people with strong opinions, often right after releases.
- Kiro, Conductor, Warp, Grok Build and Augment Code have too few posts here to rank or profile.
- Linux desktop requests cluster around Cline's new desktop app, so that count reflects one launch more than a broad trend.

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 2045 author-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by Claude Sonnet 5 reads every counted post and extracts what the author asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. Claude Opus 5.5 groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes; code counts them. A theme counts distinct author-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one author-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 author-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different authors, without slurs, preferring posts of 60 to 450 characters, most recent first.

### 2. Multi-account support and easy switching

- Google Antigravity, 2026-09-23, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “yeah i'm not looking for any auto switching shenanigans...just log out and login and keep rolling.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wo8yb4/can_i_get_a_second_pro_account_i_dont_need_ultra/pbn3hc7/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-23, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “how are you all managing multiple codex subscriptions on a mac? i can switch between them using the cli, but i’m looking for a cleaner way to handle multiple subscriptions in the codex app.” [source](https://twitter.com/1244515682/status/2102764628824719617)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-20, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “i have two google ai pro accounts, and i'm currently logged into the **antigravity desktop application** with one of them. as the weekly usage iimit is approaching, i'm considering switching to my other pro account. i've successfully done this with openai codex, but i'm wondering if **antigravity (desktop)** allows for account swapping without losing any chats or memories. thanks!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wlht2g/account_swapping_support_on_antigravity/)

### Devin

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/windsurf (Reddit): “gemini is dumb codeium is like 2 years old..windsurf went away about 3 months ago and is now devin desktop. they stopped supporting the vs code extension about a month ago. but devin desktop is a vs code fork. just download the ide, it's going to feel very native for you” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/windsurf/comments/1wr7p7l/why_isnt_windsurf_available_in_vscode_anymore/pcap3zm/)

- Praise, 2026-09-22, @warpdotdev (X): “warp now natively supports grok build (xai's terminal coding agent cli). run "grok" inside warp and you get enhanced ux: rich multi-cursor input for long prompts, /remote-control to share sessions across devices, plus integrated file explorer and code review panels. evaluation: solid upgrade. it layers ide-like polish on grok build's strong plan/subagent/mcp core without changing the agent itself. great for warp users who want better prompt editing and remote access. boosts grok build adoption in a popular terminal. no major downsides if you already use warp.” [source](https://twitter.com/1720665183188922368/status/2102401340576043233)
- Praise, 2026-09-22, @warpdotdev (X): “understood. spelling out: warp now natively supports grok build the terminal coding agent command line interface. run grok inside warp and you get enhanced user experience with rich multi-cursor input for long prompts remote-control to share sessions across devices plus integrated file explorer and code review panels. solid upgrade adding integrated development environment-like polish to the strong plan subagent model context protocol core without changing the agent. great for warp users seeking better prompt editing and remote access. boosts adoption in a popular terminal with no major downsides if already using warp.” [source](https://twitter.com/1720665183188922368/status/2102403367939006521)
- Praise, 2026-09-17, r/codex (Reddit): “there’s no way they can continue offering these plans with all of us hammering on their servers basically all day every single day. had a sense this would come to an end. have basically been at it nonstop to get product advanced as far as possible. fyi….the grok $300 plan is incredible……soooo much programming. shit tons. way more than even codex 20x or claude max. i use all 3. also, for grok….100% use it with warp. free to use warp…byom…bring your own model. gives me the context between tasks like we have on desktop programs for claude or codex.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1whlif0/support_just_told_me_they_arent_renewing_people/paad0jv/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-21, @warpdotdev (X): “now, at the core of my herdr flow, which allows connecting to all work servers in one window and working with them from any of my computers or from my phone. and warp still hasn't added native support for herdr. @warpdotdev, please hear me.” [source](https://twitter.com/1246700435513245706/status/2102010401873371180)
- Complaint, 2026-09-18, r/warpdotdev (Reddit): “is there any way to enable automatic update for warp, as everytime it is asking me update it manually instead of automatic or restart to update. <strict_link> let's say like every other apps are updating on restart or with single click its getting updated, why not warp alone.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/warpdotdev/comments/1wd585l/cant_afford_restart/paizwvi/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-18, @warpdotdev (X): “@vikvang1 @warpdotdev appreciate you asking: 1. make byok / custom inference actually credit-free. i pointed warp at openrouter and the agent still bailed repeatedly on "press y to confirm" steps because i had no credits. if i'm using external inference, the harness shouldn't gate.” [source](https://twitter.com/14132756/status/2100994479591411732)
- Complaint, 2026-09-18, @warpdotdev (X): “@vikvang1 @warpdotdev 3. let the client talk to a local endpoint. i don't want my ollama on the internet but a custom endpoint has to be public for your harness to talk to it. client-side (or at least lan-reachable) would unlock a lot.” [source](https://twitter.com/14132756/status/2100994815861383422)
- Complaint, 2026-09-18, @warpdotdev (X): “@ericmann @vikvang1 @warpdotdev this. if i bring my own keys / openrouter, the harness should not still gate on its own credits. keys in the os credential manager, desktop free, i pay the model vendor. that is the contract i want.” [source](https://twitter.com/2074942490466033664/status/2101000906388935078)

### Grok Build

- Praise, 2026-09-24, r/ChatGPTCoding (Reddit): “all harnesses are tui. though a few like grok build has menus clickable by mouse. i actually recommend using that with a local model if you don’t want to subscribe to anything.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPTCoding/comments/1womcvr/best_claude_code_alternatives/pboumxa/)
- Praise, 2026-09-10, r/cursor (Reddit): “try "grok build for vs code" extension. 120k+ installs via open vsx and vs code marketplace. open source. [<strict_link> works as a cursor ide extension too. unlike in cursor, you get oryginal harnesses for grok build, claude code, and codex. and bring your own subscriptions without cursor's. below, a remote control view, the ui is similar across all surfaces. <strict_link>” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wbust5/grok_officially_ruined_cursor_ide/p8wzb6g/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-09, r/cursor (Reddit): “just use cursor instead of grok build. you can use imagine inside cursor by prompting the grok agent to call generateimage/imagine. also, codex and claude cowork aren't ides. codex/claude code are extensions you use inside an ide, generally either vscode or cursor. cowork is a different app.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wbjv4t/im_confused_about_the_grok_and_cursor_plans/p8rkgrv/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-09, r/cursor (Reddit): “the naming trips everyone. grok bot is a cursor product, so you need a cursor sub for it. grok imagine / regular grok chat is the separate grok subscription. same brand word, different products. if what you actually want is an ide with tools, cursor is the one that wires that up. grok build alone won't give you that surface.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wbjv4t/im_confused_about_the_grok_and_cursor_plans/p8sm3pi/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-07, r/vibecoding (Reddit): “grok build user here. i prefer it, albeit i wish the xcode integration were seamless rather than having to do a custom mcp. just recently received claude code due to being a teacher and codex since i am a student back in university for four months.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/vibecoding/comments/1w74l2u/is_everyone_here_on_claude_or_codex_only_anyone/p8cx591/)

### Augment Code

- Praise, 2026-09-26, G2 (G2): “q: what problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you? a: it completely eliminates the tedious manual effort of navigating unfamiliar codebases, writing repetitive boilerplate, and tracing cross-field dependencies saving me 1-2 hours of grunt work every day. q: what do you like best about the product? a: the context engine is really amazing. in contrast to a simple ai autocomplete function, it creates an index of all of your multi-repo architecture and understands how your microservices and dependencies work. the extension works great without any delays for vs code and jetbrains. q: what do you dislike about the product? a: the usage pricing and token credit limit require ac” [source](https://www.g2.com/products/augment-code/reviews/augment-code-review-13618001)
