## The brief

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 from 110 labelled posts and the numbers on this page. Interpretation, not measurement: every quote is verbatim and links to its post.

**Cheap models stretch a plan; premium effort settings empty it.**

TL;DR:

- Quota burns fastest when users pick top models or high effort, often with no warning.
- Smaller harnesses with free tiers, caching and cheap models rate better than peers.
- The two biggest agents draw the most drain complaints and reset requests.

In plain terms: A $20 plan can feel unlimited on a light model and empty in a day on a heavy one. Users spend real effort routing work to cheap models, watching meters they don't fully trust, and waiting on resets.

### How it breaks

- **Effort settings drain the week** ([Single prompt, model or effort level consumes disproportionate quota](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.burn_rate.md), [How much use a plan's price buys](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.plan_value.md)). One switch to a top model or high effort can consume a week of quota in hours, and users often notice only after the meter hits zero.
The same plan reads as generous or useless depending on the dial. Posts describe a full weekly allowance gone in under a day on max effort, and two 5-hour windows burned within minutes after someone forgot to switch back from high. A new model version can also triple daily consumption on an unchanged workload. Users respond by hand-routing work to cheap models, which works but turns plan management into a second job.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Pi, r/PiCodingAgent, 2026-09-24: “i don't understand how you guys are doing this? on the 5x plan and luna 6 max used up my weekly usage (the full 100%) in around 22h. well max down to 52% and from there i switched to high and down to 0%.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wpcis6/opus_55_vs_gpt6_sol_luna_in_piagent_results_on_my/pbuy89c/)
 - Complaint, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-08: “@ampcode it hits hard when you forget to change the back to 'medium' after checking out astra in 'high' - i started of 3 orbs and hit the 5 hour limit twice within a space of minutes only to realise, a bit late though, that astra was the reason. i have changed the 'high' mode to use sol. waiting to see what will happen when the orbs restart.” [source](https://twitter.com/38651218/status/2097467694413226154)
[source](https://twitter.com/889838610282840064/status/2102379987890217247)
 - Complaint, Pi, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-03: “i did something similar using two 5060ti cards (16gb each) and a mixed claude/qwen 3.8b/27b setup via pi.dev, and it works really well for me (you just have to prompt claude effectively to orchestrate everything). i switched from the 20x subscription to the 5x one. it’s a shame that fable 5.1 burns through credits so fast, but it is a spectacular model.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1w6bour/fable_51_just_burned_through_my_entire_max_5x/p7m64vk/)

- **Resets have become the real currency** ([Quota reset timing and bonus or banked resets](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.reset_schedule.md), [Short rolling usage window blocks or interrupts work](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.window_interrupts_work.md)). Users treat resets as the thing they actually buy, asking for one-off resets, bankable resets and compensation after outages.
The most common request in this area is a one-off reset right now, with bonus, bankable and outage-compensation resets close behind. Some users run multiple accounts to dodge the 5-hour window. Others say they would pay extra for an emergency reset without touching their billing cycle. One user wants to gift unused resets. The window, not the monthly price, is what interrupts work.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-21: “i wish they allowed reset gifting for those who don't use theirs!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1uu2c1g/reset_discussion_megathread/pb30zdg/)
 - Praise, Amp, r/codex, 2026-09-12: “orchestrate it's the only solution. astra and fable are so much better than cheaper option that you don't have a choice but to use them if you want the best. but model like luna are really cheap and capable but to dumb to work alone. the solution i use is to have luna work as an agent and astra xhigh to give directions and review work when luna is overwhelmed. i do it's through amp with a personalized agent.md it's been great so far. and since the context is now managed by the harness i can have 2 or 3 plus account and virtually eliminate the 5h limit.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wdwy5r/what_are_your_best_alternatives_to_codex/p99uqjz/)
 - Praise, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-27: “amp usage (basically llms). my orbs doesnt hit too much, often 10% every month. i am prob using it less then i should but i am struggling to find ways to use them more haha (it's already pretty good for my workflow) i wouldn't mind paying like $125 for a reset with less usage (without changing my recurring cycle). pretty much for emergencies. for example, happening right now: i have something i need to finish and would love to use claude opus 5.5, even tho i have my subscription, i don't want to work locally, i would rather use my amp workflow as usual then spawning a claude code or things like that, feels like a setback. codex for now is doing the trick when i need it. problem is i want to use claude opus 5.5 right now haha” [source](https://twitter.com/2931128860/status/2104312520639176711)
 - Praise, Claude Code, @ClaudeDevs, 2026-09-04: “@anthropic @claudedevs hit the reset button! tip of the hat to yall. much obliged. <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/52884894/status/2095972716654236096)

- **Terms shift under a fixed price** ([Price, allowance or plan terms changed](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.allowance_change.md), [Pricing and plan terms stated clearly and consistently](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/billing.pricing_clarity.md)). Credit multipliers, combined quotas and quietly cut bundles make the same price buy less, and users read the changes as bait.
Kiro users push back on a new credit multiplier that raised effective model cost with no change in list price. Cursor users report bundled model allowances quietly cut after a gifted upgrade. OpenCode users discover quotas are pooled by percentage, not dollar value. Copilot users say the student plan reverted without a clear statement. Pi users say plain terms are missing. The complaint is less the price than finding out after paying.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Kiro, r/kiroIDE, 2026-09-15: “buddy the official luna pricing is sitll the fking same literally everything was running okay before they introduced this new credit multiplier so idk wtf u on about” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/kiroIDE/comments/1wgn268/gpt_56_luna_is_dead_in_kiro/p9xbw7m/)
 - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-21: “@hirschibar short answer from my side: i opened supergrok heavy only because of gifted cursor ultra — then other models silently went $400→$100. don’t trust the bundle narrative. @cursor_ai @xai <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/2062866394967097344/status/2102101017902915805)
 - Complaint, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-19: “yes. the quotas are combined. not on dollar value but on percentage. so, you are not getting $60 of model usage unless you use some selected models.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wkgvdj/is_opencode_gos_weekly_quota_shared_across_models/parxwju/)
 - Complaint, GitHub Copilot, r/GithubCopilot, 2026-08-31: “>am i the a-hole here, or is microsoft? ms is only the a-hole for not explicitly stating their intent with the student plan when it's clear as day what they've decided. they have reverted the student plan to the initial offering: unlimited completions, that's it. you're the a-hole for thinking you're entitled to free agentic slop. seriously all ghcp needs to do is put up a clear statement somewhere on the student plan that it is free unlimited autocompletions, but otherwise it's the same as a free user. i honestly don't understand why they didn't, it couldn't have caused any more upset at the changeover point than there already was and it would be so easy now to point to it and say "there's no such thing as an agentic student plan anymore, you're a free-tier user same as any non-student free-tier user".” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1w1q3vw/i_gave_up_on_copilot_what_ms_just_did_to_the/p6yoebm/)

- **Meters users cannot trust** ([Usage meter visibility and accuracy](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.usage_meter.md)). Usage meters lag, disagree with the CLI, hide exact token counts or go missing on mobile, so users budget blind.
Posts show an OpenCode CLI reporting no credit while the dashboard shows plenty. Antigravity users ask for exact token counts like Claude Code shows. Cursor users can't see spend in the mobile app. Others say billable counts are absent from API responses and credits don't map to tokens without manual math. Some Codex users go further and suspect the opacity is designed to push upgrades.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-19: “what is going on here? says i am out of credit in the cli, but it looks like i have plenty left. lag? @opencode <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/35363135/status/2101456365252157631)
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-22: “how to see the exact number of token usage in antigravity like as same as we can see in claude code” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wn39uk/how_to_see_the_exact_usage_of_number_of_tokens/)
 - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-03: “why can’t i access usage/spending (cursor + other models) on @cursor_ai mobile app? @mattyp 🙏” [source](https://twitter.com/1128604114223607810/status/2095518628984635588)
 - Complaint, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-09: “@pidotdev what got me was one level down: a call that charges you and says nothing about it in the response. the two endpoints that did return a billable count were the ones nobody integrates against. reconciling an invoice against a number that isn't there is guessing.” [source](https://twitter.com/2379961783/status/2097803856512205066)

- **Subscriptions locked to one harness** ([Using an existing subscription across tools](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/billing.subscription_portability.md)). Users want to carry a paid plan into the tool they prefer, and lockouts push them toward workarounds that degrade the experience.
Users say the ChatGPT subscription works in third-party harnesses like OpenCode and Pi, while Claude subscriptions stay tied to their own CLI. Amp users route a Claude subscription through a proxy, then note the vendor system prompt still gets injected, so it never feels native. Bringing an existing subscription into a new agent is a top request, led by Amp and Pi users.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Claude Code, r/GithubCopilot, 2026-09-10: “both claude code or codex $20 sub gives more usage than the copilor 40 at this point, both are nice. if you like to use 3rd party harnesses, like opencode or pi, the chatgpt sub allows you to use that. claude / anthropic does not allow 3rd party harnesses with their subscriptions.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wcj4ce/i_cancelled_my_github_copilot_subscription_are/p8y95fv/)
 - Complaint, GitHub Copilot, r/GithubCopilot, 2026-09-10: “both are worth it at $20 and both beat the copilot $40 tier on usage right now. codex has the more generous limits and lets you use third-party harnesses on the subscription; claude code is the stronger agent for larger multi-file changes but the subscription is locked to its own cli. before you pick, check which copilot model you were on. auto and the premium models burn credits fast, and a few people here on luna are at 10% for the month.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wcj4ce/i_cancelled_my_github_copilot_subscription_are/p8z0b28/)
 - Complaint, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-14: “@benvargas @macerl_bichon @ampcode @sqs i mean, when you use claude sub with the cliproxyapi, it’s like a layer on top of claude code, and every session have the system prompt from anthropic injected… so even if we can put 0 amp prompt, it will not be the real amp experience like with the api... <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/195504008/status/2099575390154944790)
 - Praise, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-26: “lol... you can just run cliproxyapi via amp orbs and set as custom url for using claude code sub with @ampcode. people have asked vps vs local machine... now there's no need to have a local always on machine or expose your network. 😄 agent will slop a gist + skill to share. <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/89291422/status/2103989312773910828)

### Who stands out

- **OpenCode (stronger)**. Free models and a cheap Go plan make OpenCode the place users go to stop counting tokens.
Users report full workdays on free models without hitting limits, and some expose those models to other clients. The Go plan earns best-value praise. The friction sits at the top end: pooled percentage quotas and requests for a tier above the current ceiling, with some users weighing other plans for clearer terms.
 Evidence:
 - Praise, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-27: “if you're on opencode, the free models are honestly the move. i built a little wrapper that exposes them through an openai-compatible endpoint, so you can use them from other clients too instead of being stuck in the cli. [<strict_link>” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wq8vp9/best_free_model_after_deepseek_leave/pcal0fn/)
 - Praise, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-13: “mimo v2.5 feels consistently faster and a bit more intelligent for my usecases (research/programming). i have a weird thing were i work for many reasons from 3 different pcs, so this means i can have in practice 3 different opencode free instances to work on every day. but even when i do full days work on 1 pc i rarely hit the limits. the service is excellent though, ill definitely enable go plan the moment i need anything more than the free tier” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wf6918/wow_bigpickle_does_nothing_but_blah_blah/p9ltgi6/)
 - Praise, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-16: “@btsouth yes @opencode go is the best value available and i've found muse 1.3 equally great, good-enough, reliably-rock-solid 💫 i still use grok the most (via grok) and cant get close to burning my monthly tokens but when my 3 month discounts expires it will be a different propositon” [source](https://twitter.com/3301110250/status/2100122838418244029)
 - Complaint, OpenCode, r/opencodeCLI, 2026-09-23: “ok. i'm thinking opencode go probably isn't the right plan for me. i did see dax or someone post on x a week or so ago that they were going to be bringing a higher usage plan soon, so maybe that'll change. i think for now it's probably either ollama cloud or bionic+. i edited my original post to pull ollama cloud into the mix. they're more clear on what the subscription gets you, and the easy integration with codex and claude code seems nice. i had performance issues when i tried them in the past, though, so i'll have to give it another shot. thanks!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wo8oei/opencode_go_vs_lm_studio_bionic_vs_others_replace/pbmdw1b/)

- **Pi (stronger)**. Pi wins on token efficiency, with a lean system prompt and cache-preserving design that users measure themselves.
Users post their own numbers: a greeting costing a fraction of the context tokens a rival harness uses, and adapters reporting very high cache hit rates. Release notes about warming the cache without breaking it get applause. Complaints are about upstream quotas draining on heavy models and unclear terms, not Pi itself.
 Evidence:
 - Praise, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-08-31: “i tried hermes agent as a replacement of <strict_link> at the beginning i thought it was amazing, it felt different, fast and autonomous. but then i noticed something: "hi" -> 45k cont. tokens (disabling tools/skills) in pi: "hi" -> 7k ct came back to @pidotdev” [source](https://twitter.com/2001267169192226816/status/2094303912958312739)
 - Praise, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-09: “my pi-xai-ws grok adapter (uses websockets) for @pidotdev now has a v1.0.0 release with great cache coherency. over my own use of 2,787 grok responses calls, 672 million prompt tokens: - 96.1% of the tokens were cached - 99.5% cache rate on the median grok responses call <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/14559345/status/2097796177458823210)
 - Praise, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-20: “@pidotdev dynamic tools without nuking the kv cache is the kinda boring that makes agents actually usable. cache warming as a release headline is peak 2026” [source](https://twitter.com/1600553496725495808/status/2101505086266425757)
 - Complaint, Pi, r/PiCodingAgent, 2026-09-21: “it’s that again they don’t say clearly what we can or cannot do.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wm5a9j/claude_subscription_with_pi/pb4i67i/)

- **Devin (stronger)**. Cheaper cached tokens and model mixing let Devin users stretch a week of quota much further.
One user reports an eight-hour session on a fraction of weekly quota with model mixing, versus a full week burned in hours without it. Cached-token price cuts and a free model draw praise. The weak spot is warning: a codebase-wide scan maxed out a top plan with no heads-up, and users ask for a tier above Max.
 Evidence:
 - Praise, Devin, @DevinAI, 2026-09-14: “@devinai is pretty amazing, ive been running fusion with fable5.1 and swe-2 ive had a session running for about 8 hours and have only used up 8% of my weekly quota. i did the same thing last week without fusion and just used fable 5.1 - 100% of my weekly quota was used up in 6 hrs” [source](https://twitter.com/2078979683388108800/status/2099380710545211815)
 - Praise, Devin, @cognition, 2026-09-01: “@cognition that’s huge 🔥 4x cheaper cached tokens coding just got way more efficient” [source](https://twitter.com/1790460165000687620/status/2094875415592788358)
 - Praise, Devin, @cognition, 2026-09-15: “@jkelleyrtp @cognition brooo swe 2 & now another cooking ??! since glm 5.2 started being free in devin it has been the best product to use for me” [source](https://twitter.com/1878457555174760448/status/2099653943429132379)
 - Complaint, Devin, @DevinAI, 2026-09-23: “decided to give @devinai's code quality scan on my codebase. nothing massive, it's under 500k loc. my $200 max plan maxed out before all the findings could even be implemented. i read the blog and know how it works, but i feel like a warning should be presented to users for those that don't know.” [source](https://twitter.com/2070908287978246144/status/2102579438701760871)

- **Claude Code (weaker)**. Users describe weekly limits emptying far faster than before on unchanged workflows, driving the most reset requests in the area.
Posts report a weekly limit gone in hours after a reset with no workflow change, and most of a Max allowance used in two days. Heavy models burn credits fast enough that some downgrade plans and offload work to local models. A minority say Claude lasts longer than ChatGPT, and lean prompts help, but the drain story dominates.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Claude Code, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-08: “something odd is happening after the usage reset last week. i started running a workflow on wednesday that prior to the reset had used only 70% of my weekly limit. after the reset i used 100% of my weekly usage in 12 hours with 30% being used in the last hour. no changes.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wa6325/what_is_happening_absolutely_frustrating/p8gb43b/)
 - Complaint, Claude Code, @ClaudeDevs, 2026-09-02: “@claudedevs thank you, i have just used 70% weekly limit in two days with ×5 max.” [source](https://twitter.com/1453575862931054592/status/2094946212184998228)

- **OpenAI Codex (mixed)**. The cheap light model makes the $20 plan feel huge, yet Codex draws the loudest calls to remove the 5-hour window.
Users praise running cheap subagents on the entry plan and finishing hard problems on a small slice of weekly quota. The flip side is heavy tool calling, fast burn on larger tasks and suspicion that limits are opaque by design. Codex users lead requests for bankable resets, recurring bonus resets and higher-priced tiers.
 Evidence:
 - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/vibecoding, 2026-09-06: “chatgpt + codex. luna high/max on the $20 tier is an insane value.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/vibecoding/comments/1w81u7j/what_is_the_best_and_most_affordable_coding/p82iuhb/)
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-11: “i keep thinking this scarcity and lack of transparency is intentional. like they want you to hit limits and not know when it's going to happen to generate anxiety so you just pay for more credits or upgrade.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w9w4tj/codex_usage_and_operation_discussion_last_updated/p97yabc/)
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-16: “insane amount of tool calling and token burn for something u can fix in 10 minutes by just being more specific with your prompting” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wi7r0p/tired_of_gpt_not_following_mockups_heres_a_tip/pa8amxn/)
 - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-11: “yes, i use it. yes, it works. main chat is sol, executors are lunas trough defined subagents (luna high and xhigh). it works fine, but a bit slow. i'm on 20$ sub tough, so it's fine by me. if i need more intelligence i tell sol to debate with astra. i've checked multiple times and so far sub-agents work. luna is very cheap so i can do stuff on 20$ sub.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wdskmy/astra_for_specs_luna_for_coding_is_this_just/p98gtq1/)

### Fine print

- Model names such as luna, astra, sol and fable appear as users wrote them; this brief does not verify them.
- Warp, Conductor, Grok Build and Augment Code have too few posts here to rank reliably.
- Posts often compare several agents at once, so a quote filed under one agent may describe another.

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 5648 author-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by Claude Sonnet 5 reads every counted post and extracts what the author asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. Claude Opus 5.5 groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes; code counts them. A theme counts distinct author-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one author-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 author-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different authors, without slurs, preferring posts of 60 to 450 characters, most recent first.

### 4. Remove the 5-hour usage window

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “man just give us a 50$ tier with no 5 hour usage limit/or atleast option to disable it and just let us burn all our weeky usage anytime we want and not have to schedule our life around the 5 hour usage reset.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqoxyz/dev_day_predictions/pc6dtg1/)

### 7. Compensation reset after outages or bugs

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “they had downtime yesterday. i got some api errors\*.\* if it is not technically possible to give us the service we paid for, it is fair to give reset or banked reset. i am thinking its okay they focus on improving the models, the platform and features, instead of focusing on 100% stability. if they want to stay competitive, they need to keep improving those main features, not on 1 hour lost once in a while.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqqg0k/on_the_reset_situation_written_by_astra/pc6u32v/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “"the bug was the app overwriting its child-process completion handler." @thsottiaux we still shoudl get a reset for breaking linux desktop app - codex cli was hear to rescue it but still - we need those resets” [source](https://twitter.com/15980398/status/2103937780837499171)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-09-26, @antigravity (X): “what's wrong with antigravity. can't login to my free accounts. and i don't know how to write code 😐 @antigravity pls fix and reset weekly qouta limits 😭😭😭😭😭” [source](https://twitter.com/1211542540521861121/status/2103786974821695874)

- Claude Code, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i use the desktop app 100% in claude code since july. i´m in love with it since day 1. i wish antropic realeases a x30 plan or something like that thou. i need moreeee” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wrhtyd/new_to_claude_why_should_we_use_claude_code_over/pccnt4h/)

- Claude Code, 2026-09-26, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i mean, i'm building something that has demand - i've invested maybe 2.5k between subscriptions, servers, etc. i just wish anthropic would release a $500 100x plan true (a true 100x)... but they won't because they know i'll keep buying multiple 20x subscriptions.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wr0wic/is_everyone_here_millionaires/pc98x2f/)

### 9. Allow subscription use in third-party harnesses

- OpenCode, 2026-09-27, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “google needs to remove the restriction of using google ai subscription only inside agy otherwise you get banned. gemini 3.8 is good but agy is kinda shitty would be cool to use the model in something like opencode” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wrh0mx/gemini_38_in_alternative_harnesses/pcd2rek/)

### 11. Mid-priced tier between existing plans

- Claude Code, 2026-09-27, @ClaudeDevs (X): “claude should launch a plan between $20 and $100. hey @claudeai @claudedevs, launch a $50 plan with 2.5x usage.” [source](https://twitter.com/1945350074839785472/status/2104151542865781213)

- Factory, 2026-09-26, @FactoryAI (X): “@droid @factoryai claude's 20 dolar plan usage limits very very big but droid 20 dolar usage limits worse than gpt 20 dolar plan, its real. im sorry” [source](https://twitter.com/1896160400716267520/status/2103951569800630604)

### Pi

- Praise, 2026-09-26, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “because you can use your max subscription” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wqmcmk/poll_claude_sub_with_pi_what_method_do_you_use/pc5bdn3/)
- Praise, 2026-09-26, r/LocalLLaMA (Reddit): “can you actually remove / override the heavy system prompt though? according to my searching (and asking llms) you can only *add* to the system prompt. also, even when you enable only the bare minimum tool calling like file read / write and a couple others it's still like 8k tokens for even just a 'hello world' style prompt. some of us can run models relatively smoothly on minimal hardware with pretty good results but we need to manage the tokens more tightly. i've found the pi agent to be much better for minimal setups. way lighter initial tokens meaning longer convos before context runs out.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1wq9ivr/what_ide_to_use_for_local_models/pc3lhdp/)
- Praise, 2026-09-25, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “i’m fairly suspicious of anthropic being able to detect most integrations that allow claude in the drivers seat on pi. i have too much important shit on chat to treat it like a burner account. i personally only do claude subagents on pi via headless since anthropic somewhat sanctions that behavior. if i need claude to drive, i just use claude code for now. pi will proxy to claude code just fine.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wq1bv2/whats_the_best_option_for_using_anthropic/pc0bxyh/)
- Praise, 2026-09-25, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “hello, i made pi-claude-request-compat ([<strict_link>). instead of creating another provider, it reuses pi’s existing anthropic login, models, and streaming, then adds a claude code compatibility layer to outgoing requests. [<strict_link> i’m using a new github account for privacy, so the code, automated security scans, dependency audits, and signed release provenance are public for anyone to check. a few friends and i have been using it for the last month, and my anthropic account is still intact :)” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wpyjrs/yet_another_pi_addon_claude_code_compatibility/)
- Praise, 2026-09-25, @pidotdev (X): “@mattlam_ @pidotdev @badlogicgames yeah, nori you can run cloud agents with pretty much any subscription.” [source](https://twitter.com/1432464424015732743/status/2103544085931810911)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “every use case is different. personally, i prefer a lean approach where the context window stays small and gets summarized regularly, while solid documentation lets me spin up new sessions with fast project context recovery. - i avoid large context windows because i don't have much vram. once a task is done, i compress the context using my `pi-refine-compact` extension, so the llm stays up to speed on what was done in broad strokes and we can move on. - even when i use a cloud model, i still don't keep a huge window because prompt cache drops on the provider side aren't rare, and i don't want to overpay for someone else's glitches. - i document plans and project details as thoroughly as poss” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wrq50c/new_session_handoff_vs_compact_which_do_you_prefer/pcf5zei/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “i was able to use it for a little while before i started hitting request limits, and it’s never really reset. now i just have a qwen model that fits in my vram running through ollama that i use in pi (using ollama as the provider).” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1vjurqz/considering_claude_code_pi_worth_it/pcf7g1b/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “if i had an anthropic plan, i wouldn't risk it - dont they say they can ban you for this? how do you use /tree and whay extensions do you use?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wrjr75/the_good_opensource_harness/pcgsa4u/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “why is it that opus 5.5 usage starts out great in omp, and then for one reason or another starts draining usage like crazy? am i hitting some sort of caching issues? do i need to compact at 400k? or what? i am pretty sure the cache is being kept warm for an hour, but i don't know for sure how this stuff works. it's compacting at 850k. if i've left it for awhile and context is >35% i will use /handoff and that seems to help.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wruev9/omp_and_opus_55_usage/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, @pidotdev (X): “it's super interesting to run codex models in the @pidotdev harness vs the codex harness. @badlogicgames has it mention when there's a cache miss, and it's most of them. so if you're upset about how fast your sub gets used up, use it on pi and what it will teach you, may get you to figure out how to manage your context window better.” [source](https://twitter.com/21734113/status/2104223345898319922)

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “opencode go is their $10 subscription plan for use inside the opencode cli. your $10 of payment get you what you would get for $60 at full api pricing, so 6x factor. i would be afraid of quantized models running in stupid mode with it. see other comments asking the same thing. by comparison, i think a chatgpt sub gets you roughly 20x multiplier (your $20 subscription lets you spend $400 of api value), but not sure how that changes in the past weeks and months. first party subs tend to subsidize a lot more because they can afford it.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wpzekf/operation_cheepseek_phase_2/pcarwqn/)

### Claude Code

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i’ve been using the shit out of opus lately. i always use sonnet as my interface, interactive sessions are always sonnet 5 on medium. i’ve been having sonnet spin up an opus 5.5 subagent in plan mode as an advisor. in plan mode, opus can’t call tools and blot its context window and my usage ($20/mo), sonnet has to feed it all the context and prompt it. it delivers amazing value an just sips usage. has made my sessions way more effective” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wr5lzf/practically_speaking_what_tasks_fit_into/pc9uw06/)

### Grok Build

- Praise, 2026-09-23, r/codex (Reddit): “i am using 200 sub. it gets a lot better after i offload the worker jobs to another llm. i think there are many reasonable priced worker plans out there. should really try it. i think my plan can last for a week after getting grok build into my workflow. just wonder which is better, astra light or sol max.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wo746i/gpt6_astra_light_or_gpt6_sol_max_as_planner_and_qa/pbknkqk/)

### Augment Code

- Praise, 2026-09-13, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “glm 5.3 and glm 5.3 flash are no go for me, i tried their promo weekend tokens and found them underwhelming in more ways than i can tolerate. most importantly, they embedded a lot of confidently incomplete information in designs which failed audits and got blocked during implementation. (i used augmentcode before switching to claudecode, then after a month with claudecode i went back to augmentcode, again this was about a year ago and i found augmentcode context engineering much better at that time and their fixed pricing for 1500 requests were too good to pass which didn't last of course )” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wf9uuf/wth_is_going_on_with_claude_usage_limits/p9lym97/)
