# Price, allowance or plan terms changed (`limits.allowance_change`)

Feedback Bench, coding agents, built 2026-10-01, window 2026-08-31 to 2026-09-27. Web page: https://feedbackbench.com/#/criterion/limits.allowance_change

Area: [Paying and limits](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/paying.md)

**Definition.** The vendor changes a plan's price, quota, multipliers, included models or tiers over time: cuts, raises, removals, silent changes and changes that differ from what was announced.

**Boundary.** Not this: see [How much use a plan's price buys](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.plan_value.md) for the current level with no change named. Not this: see [Quota reset timing and bonus or banked resets](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.reset_schedule.md) for when resets happen.

Rated author-weeks, all agents: 2812. Complaint share: 94%.

## The brief

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 from 77 labelled posts and the numbers on this page. Interpretation, not measurement: every quote is verbatim and links to its post.

**Users can live with limits. They revolt when limits move silently.**

TL;DR:

- Complaints swamp praise across agents. Silent cuts and unannounced repricing anger users more than the cuts.
- OpenAI Codex draws the most heat: shifting weekly allowances and a pulled top tier users want back.
- OpenCode wins by handing out temporary boosts. The risk is the cliff when they expire.

In plain terms: You pay for a plan, then the plan moves. Weekly usage shrinks, a model's multiplier jumps, a tier disappears, often with no email. Users budget around numbers the vendor can change mid-cycle.

### How it breaks

- **Allowances shrink with no notice** ([Price, allowance or plan terms changed](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.allowance_change.md)). The most repeated grievance is not the cut itself but learning about it from a budget alert or a meter that drains faster.
Posts describe included credits dropping between months with no email. Others report weekly volume that feels smaller while the displayed numbers stay put, and per-model pools quietly slashed. Cursor users report their other-models allowance cut sharply without warning. Codex users go further and suspect the weekly allowance is a backend dial that moves between resets. Requests cluster on two asks: restore previous limits and stop silent changes.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, GitHub Copilot, r/GithubCopilot, 2026-09-07: “last months we had about 9000 included credits, now it's only 5700 ai credits? no email or heads up, just an over budget alert” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1w9szm5/did_they_just_change_the_included_credits_for/)
 - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-22: “heavy+ultra bundle praise — then the silent knife. i opened supergrok heavy only for gifted cursor ultra; other models silently $400→$100. @cursor_ai @xai <strict_link> <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/2062866394967097344/status/2102312631956885810)
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-06: “the usage drain is not a "bug" to drain, right ? i mean they give you a secret amount, of everchanging, usage allowance per week. everyone who is using codex knows that that allowance is changing extremely from one week to another. it's not a bug to search, it's a setting in their backend. they use the resets to see how users react after the setting was changed - to see if they purchase more subscriptions, upgrade, or leave. it's a permanent psychological test.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w98051/tibo_incoming/p88n3hj/)
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-17: “@antigravity do not silently reduce limits on pro sub after 4 pro 🙏🙏🙏” [source](https://twitter.com/1755670444353761280/status/2100616917971255403)

- **Paid tiers and deals get revoked** ([Price, allowance or plan terms changed](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.allowance_change.md)). Users who bought a tier or accepted an upgrade promo report landing on a smaller plan and losing most of their remaining usage.
Codex users describe being moved from the top tier to a lower one, and they ask for the old tier back. Others rushed to upgrade before it disappeared. Cursor and Factory posts tell the same story through in-app promos and vouchers that swapped plans and wiped balances. This erodes trust faster than a price rise. The user acted in good faith and lost value.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-16: “this happened to me last week. was switched to 5x. also contacted them. guess if they can't honour deals i'll take my money elsewhere.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1whlif0/support_just_told_me_they_arent_renewing_people/pa4bmd5/)
 - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-16: “through deception and legal mumbo-jumbo, @cursor_ai robbed me of ~85% of my cursor model usage during an upgrade from pro+ to ultra. a promo appeared in cursor right above the dialogue field. i accepted their deal and lost most of what i had left. beware.” [source](https://twitter.com/351648148/status/2100317169733030129)
 - Complaint, Factory, @droid, 2026-09-24: “okay if you got a voucher for this and you already have a max plan for @droid , do not redeem it. it swapped my plan from max to pro (because i was not paying attention lmao) and now i have no more usage anymore. <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/587982527/status/2102938301447708799)
 - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-18: “i was waiting few days, as i missed to upgrade before it was removed. very good timing, just upgraded to x20 successfully, limit went from 0% to 100% as well.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wjtvel/20x_plans_are_back/palqm3w/)

- **Model multipliers jump overnight** ([Price, allowance or plan terms changed](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.allowance_change.md)). A single model's price multiplier can rise sharply in one update and turn a cheap workhorse into something users abandon.
Kiro users report a favoured model jumping roughly elevenfold after a context-window upgrade nobody could opt out of. Zed users report the reverse: upstream prices fell and their bill did not. Codex posts note API price cuts that did not translate into subscription headroom. The complaint is less the price than the bundling. Users want upgrades to be optional and pricing to track the provider.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Kiro, r/kiroIDE, 2026-09-15: “luna has been my workhorse over the last 6 weeks but i just saw its updated pricing at 1.1x, is anyone else been seeing the same?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/kiroIDE/comments/1vbj0mu/new_gpt_pricing/p9vbtmz/)
 - Complaint, Kiro, r/kiroIDE, 2026-09-15: “in the last few hours, the price of gpt-5.6 on kiro has surged significantly. for luna, the price jumped 11 times—from 0.1x to 1.1x. i haven't seen any posts mentioning price hikes for gpt-5.6 elsewhere. while upgrading the context window to 1m is a welcome change, this should have been offered as an optional choice. price increase of this magnitude simply because the window size was expanded is unreasonable. it is truly disappointing, as luna previously offered excellent performance at an affordable price but has now become unusable. i think i seriously need to consider switching to codex.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/kiroIDE/comments/1wgn268/gpt_56_luna_is_dead_in_kiro/)
 - Complaint, Zed, @zeddotdev, 2026-09-22: “bro @zeddotdev did you really to this day never updated your fucking models? fable 5.1, astra, the cheper price on luna and terra, for fuck sake it has been fucking ages since luna and terra got cheaper and your still fucking billing me more then their real prices” [source](https://twitter.com/925866673843908609/status/2102317266260177163)

- **Temporary boosts end in a cliff** ([Price, allowance or plan terms changed](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.allowance_change.md)). Promotional multipliers win goodwill while they last. Then the expiry date reads as a cut.
OpenCode users cheer extended 4x windows, then count down to the end and describe the base price as a halving. Antigravity users expect limits to drop once a model discount ends. The request is blunt: make the bonus permanent. A promo resets expectations to the promo level. Reverting then registers as a reduction even when the base plan never changed.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, OpenCode, r/opencodeCLI, 2026-09-12: “still the fact remains that after that period it will be $15, which is 2x reduction from v4.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wec4as/opencode_has_extended_the_4x_usage_limit_for/p9cv8b3/)
 - Complaint, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-12: “@opencode how long left until the x4 usage limits are gone... 😢” [source](https://twitter.com/946744175046811650/status/2098637253677593027)
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-24: “definitely not using ag. the usage limits are abysmal and google will half the usage limits once the 50% discount on 3.8 flash ends.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wp6mpo/poll_how_do_you_code_in_late_2026/pbt79jc/)
 - Complaint, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-02: “@opencode please make the 2x ($30 usage) permanent for glm 5.3 flash. it’s an incredible model. i would renew my subscription just for this.” [source](https://twitter.com/1912696867722285056/status/2095020025732059321)

- **Models vanish from the plan** ([Price, allowance or plan terms changed](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/limits.allowance_change.md)). Removed models and shrunk context windows hit users who built a workflow around them, often with no in-product message.
A Codex user found a model gone from the picker while its usage line still showed on the dashboard, and first assumed a bug. Zed users self-host a model after free-plan access was pulled. A Pi user cancelled after the subscription's context capacity was reduced. Users ask vendors to bring back removed models and to announce removals clearly.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Zed, @zeddotdev, 2026-09-05: “how to to self-host zeta-2.1 for edit predictions in zed after @zeddotdev remove access to it on their free plan:” [source](https://twitter.com/216448470/status/2096218036420133029)
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-16: “i guess that makes sense. the only time i really used spark was when my main quota had run out. i just never found it worth the effort to switch for the simpler tasks. it is kind of annoying that there isn't better messaging on a feature going away. i can still see "gpt-5.3-codex-spark usage limits" on my dashboard. but i can't select the model any more. it really looked like a bug at first.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1whlh36/gpt53codexspark_not_a_choice_anymore/pa3tu0d/)
 - Complaint, Pi, r/PiCodingAgent, 2026-09-15: “the subscription version of the models only have 272k capacity, before they had 372k. once they reduced it, i cancelled my subscription and moved back to claude. now i have finally got myself out of their ecosystem and with [z.ai](<strict_link>) sub for glm 5.3.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1whetud/why_pi_set_luna_ctx_window_to_275000_by_default/pa1yt4q/)

### Who stands out

- **OpenAI Codex (weaker)**. The heaviest load of allowance complaints lands here, driven by week-to-week volume swings and a pulled top tier.
Users say the displayed allowance holds steady while real volume shrinks. Some believe resets are used to test how users react. Requests to restore limits, stop cutting existing plans and bring back the top tier concentrate on Codex more than on any other agent. Praise exists and is specific: users who noticed a tier allowance rise called it a win. The same audience rewards increases loudly.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-11: “20x max is claude :) anyway good for you, my api-equivalent numbers are absolutely dogshit lately i mean the amounts are here, but the real volume has substantially shrink” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wd111j/cost_jumped_from_about_1500_a_month_to_being_at/p93ih2d/)
 - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-22: “yeah exactly. the number one complaint has been usage issues. this is a massive improvement on that. they listened for once it seems. def a win” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wnhmfd/basically_its_just_cheaper_solluna6_even_has/pbfqh0g/)
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-23: “half the price is only on api. on subscription we went from <phone_number> messages for luna 5.6 to <phone_number> for luna 6 on plus baseline.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wnto0j/sol_6_is_a_slop_fest/pbkrsl9/)

- **OpenCode (stronger)**. OpenCode is the one agent where allowance changes earn applause, because the changes users notice are boosts and extensions.
Posts celebrate doubled and quadrupled limits and week-long extensions while other vendors face demands for resets. The flip side shows up in the same threads. Users ask for bonuses to become permanent and treat the scheduled return to base pricing as a cut. A few posts also mention recent price increases across the plan.
 Evidence:
 - Praise, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-12: “@opencode while everyone else is begging for resets, opencode just extends 4x usage for another week 🔥” [source](https://twitter.com/1703499086928687104/status/2098760761682104644)
 - Praise, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-10: “@opencode twice the limits is a huge unlock for builders—love seeing this kind of practical improvement.” [source](https://twitter.com/1129325618342981633/status/2097861447363522607)
 - Complaint, OpenCode, r/opencode, 2026-09-11: “basically the same value as opencode go before opencode started uppricing everything a few weeks ago. is commandcode's pricing sustainable? don't know but i'll take it while it lasts.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wcv81v/deepseek_v41_flash_nerf_on_opencode_so_now/p92d4ud/)

- **Google Antigravity (weaker)**. Antigravity users describe a slow ratchet, with limits drifting down and almost no praise for any change.
Posts accuse it of gradual quota reductions. Users first doubt their own setup, then blame the quota. Some suspect a bait-and-switch: generous at launch, tighter later. Users plead in advance not to cut pro limits silently. One post notices a weekly bump, and it stands alone.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-25: “i have a theory, they dropped with claude models to acquire users then slowly decreased limits and made their models better but then it's still terrible” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wpvvsr/why_does_antigravity_not_update_its_offerings_for/pbz13gf/)
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-21: “sameeew... it is true even for gemini 3.7, 3.8. i was doubting myself untill this post. i thought i must have increased the number of skills or tools. but no it's the models or reduction in the quota” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wlpn37/did_gemini_start_using_more_tokens_or_were_usage/pb34w0b/)
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-15: “yup to me its actually slower than 12 hours ago... the only way i find this reasonable is if they are currently mass training their gemini 4 model... if its for other reasons (like to frick with us and scam us) then i genuinly dont get it i am getting pissed at all these limit decreasing consistently, slower generations, heck the usage limit for pro users is about the same as a free user in gemini these days, i just tested it an image generatio nfor a free user or pro user is the exact same!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wguex8/just_me_or_is_38_flash_still_slow_af/p9xkhpl/)

- **Kiro (weaker)**. Kiro's complaints trace to one event, a sharp multiplier hike on a popular model with no notice.
Users report a favoured model's price rising after a context upgrade that was bundled in by default, and they call it a deal breaker. Later posts say refunds followed for the month. Even sympathetic users accept that costs rise. Their objection is the missing notification.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Kiro, @kirodotdev, 2026-09-18: “@kirodotdev why did you guys change the pricing of luna? honestly its a deal breaker :(” [source](https://twitter.com/1549953618815639552/status/2101031288614375917)
 - Complaint, Kiro, r/kiroIDE, 2026-09-27: “yeah this has been known for weeks. they’re refunding people for september as they increased the price without enough notice.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/kiroIDE/comments/1wrd7l9/insane_price_hike_for_gpt_56_model_even_crazier/pcbx3dn/)
 - Complaint, Kiro, r/kiroIDE, 2026-09-27: “i want to add my view, it will never be free! any ai tool cannot be free, there is cost associated with them from foundation of training to hosting the model for end user like us. so to continue this service we need capital. yes companies will look ways to maximize it as so would we if we were in business. but in this term. i would have preferred kiro to give us option to use context window. if you are cost insensitive going above 1m context is for you or else we keep on compacting, fight ai to bring it on track and finish few tasks and repeat. now that openai itself has found ways to reduce token cost, that will directly trickle to us. but kiro is beyond ide, it is spec driven ide. all this aidlc is baked in to start with and can be invoked to enhance further deliverables, so each ide has their power. but what kiro did wrong here was without notification, they hiked the usage cost.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/kiroIDE/comments/1wrd7l9/insane_price_hike_for_gpt_56_model_even_crazier/pce2ltj/)

### Fine print

- Nearly every post here is a complaint. People rarely post when limits hold steady, so praise is underrepresented.
- Many agents have too few posts to rank. Devin, Cline, Amp, Warp and others appear only as anecdotes.
- Users often cannot separate allowance cuts from model token appetite or reset timing, so some reported cuts may be perceived rather than real.

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 689 author-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by Claude Sonnet 5 reads every counted post and extracts what the author asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. Claude Opus 5.5 groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes; code counts them. A theme counts distinct author-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one author-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 author-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different authors, without slurs, preferring posts of 60 to 450 characters, most recent first.

### 1. Restore previous usage limits

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “i’m not even asking it to be better than opus — i just want the usage limits and the level of performance we already had back” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrml7w/20_plan_outperforming_100_plans_on_intelligence/pcfun8b/)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-09-27, @antigravity (X): “@thsottiaux @antigravity gpt6solm now on 20x, you can use 32% of the weekly limit in one day, a few days ago it could be used for 4-5 days, has the available limit decreased again? a month ago, the sol xhigh weekly limit was simply not used up.” [source](https://twitter.com/1119797280083775488/status/2104086406738165915)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “i honestly do not care that it is less usage, i just want the astra we had a week ago. you can't charge me more usage and give me crap at the same time, that's not really acceptable.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqtd1g/openai_gpu_are_really_cooling_down_theo_just/pc70svc/)

### 2. No silent changes to usage allowances

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “that's an improvement over current behaviour. right now models and usage are being nerfed all the time, but its not being announced.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrri5h/been_running_astra_high_100month_and_opus55_high/pcfx5eo/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “that may all be true, but they could also just be honest with their customers and communicate whatever change they made. that should be the absolute bare minimum for a $200 per month subscription.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wr27ai/is_the_200_plan_not_20x_anymore/pcd1utn/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “at this point the resets are a joke. they reduced limits silently to the point where they are unusable and then doll out resets every now and then before users revolt.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wr4cp6/more_resets_incoming_next_week/pc9is1j/)

### 3. Stop reducing usage limits on existing plans

- Claude Code, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “the usage is incredible right now. i just know it's too good to last. please dario, don't change a thing 🙏” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wrpq38/any_idea_what_anthropic_figured_out/pcejrer/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-25, r/codex (Reddit): “i still ran out in 2 days with xhigh… ive used codex since release and between the terrible usage rates and the new $500 plan i’m done. this will be my last month and i’m going to claude. when codex released the fucking $20 plan gives more then the $200 plan does and now they have the nerve to release a $500 plan after nerfing the $200 plan and saying they don’t have enough compute? i’m so done with openai.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wpspww/gpt6_astra_seems_unusable_due_to_token_burn_gpt6/pc0f0yw/)

### 4. Bring back the 20x plan tier and upgrades

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-24, r/codex (Reddit): “same and i’m already down from 100 to 80 in a few hours lol. i desperately want the $200 plan back.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wnda22/the_engines_have_been_forcefully_stopped/pbsw1em/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-24, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@business they want the gov protections from litigation, relief from the stresses of an ipo in favor of a gov check. we want the return of the pro 20x plan. #openai #codex” [source](https://twitter.com/1740577163340816384/status/2102972311628337163)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-20, r/codex (Reddit): “with the current usage limits i could not push the 20x (even if they do bring it back) but yeah $100 codex + $100 over $200 codex” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wkxtpq/100_claude_max_100_codex_or_200_claude_max/paxklnt/)

### 5. Make temporary usage bonuses permanent

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-24, r/codex (Reddit): “hope it becomes permanent feature after spark reserve retires. but guess not” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wp2j4w/was_luna_reserve_silently_killed/pbrtazi/)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-24, @opencode (X): “@opencode 4.1 flash is my fav model. smart & i don't have to think about my limits at all. luna 6 is a dumbass in comparison, and i'd rather just spend more time with deepseek iterating than blow my limit on sol or astra. please keep the 4x going. bless ya'll 🍻” [source](https://twitter.com/2184495505/status/2103137089890177279)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-20, @opencode (X): “please @opencode dont end the deepseek v4.1 flash's 4x usage 🥹” [source](https://twitter.com/1519659986267230209/status/2101706833299906757)

### 6. Stable, predictable usage limits and terms

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “this is along the lines of my expectation. changing it from 20x should be illegal though since that’s what i subscribed to (or, that’s what i believed i was subscribing to).” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wr27ai/is_the_200_plan_not_20x_anymore/pccg0w3/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “who cares. i wanna hear a "we cut the usage heres the rates and they will stay consistent. everything else i don't give a shit about. litreally if thats the only thing they did for dev day i think the entire community would like that more then whatever dogshit they are gonna try to serve up on a silver platter. none of this shit matters if you can't even use it lmao” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrfqeh/wdyt_theyre_going_to_do_with_us/pcc4lg0/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “a commercial product shouldn't have "generosity", it should have consistency. anthropic's approach is better. how are you supposed to plan work when more than half of codex quota has come from resets the last few months?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqmbwx/stop_stealing_our_codex_quota_with_these_surprise/pc7h5rv/)

### 7. Higher overall usage limits

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “they need to release a model which fucking fixes this gpt-6.5, alongside usage limit fixes, even for the low-paying customers, especially the $100 package. otherwise people are just screwed over” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrftcs/gpt6_sol_is_massive_downgrade/pccqpm7/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “genuinely if they don't have a model ready by tuesday, i don't know how anything less than a 2x increase on all limits is a sufficient response to opus 5.5. i've been a subscriber to one $20 plan or another since january and for my uses my limits have never been higher than they are with opus 5.5 right now. well besides luna but that's apples to oranges.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wr1oir/they_are_aware_and_working_on_it_apparently_just/pc9l8lz/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “fuck the resets though. just increase the usage across the board.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqbnpj/we_are_back/pc3v2f2/)

### 8. Remove per-model usage cap

- Claude Code, 2026-09-18, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “is that anthropics answer to gpt 6? maybe they can start by stopping with limiting fable!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wjpk51/opus_52_rumored_to_be_coming_today/pakpmbx/)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-17, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i will never not speak up for my boy opus 5 on low effort. an absolutely workhorse and cheap too. but year, for everything else, fable 5.1 all the way. if they remove the separate fables limit, i can forgive their sins on the underwhelming opus 5” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wiujum/claude_code_is_falling_behind_codex_not_because/paee9mf/)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-16, @ClaudeDevs (X): “day 2 of asking @anthropicai to remove the fable-only limit on 20x plans. @claudedevs @lydiahallie” [source](https://twitter.com/1140568348285186048/status/2100292353890173417)

### 9. Lower or reverted model pricing

- Kiro, 2026-09-27, r/kiroIDE (Reddit): “only usable "model" in kiro right now is auto... all other decent ones burn credits like crazy. if aws prices luna/sol correctly and add back the new chinese models (deepseek v4.1 flash please!)... then it can return - otherwise... it will be used by the ones that are using it for free or when their employeer "strongly recommend" it to be used.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/kiroIDE/comments/1wqueq0/claude_pro_vs_kiro_pro_subscription_which_is/pcfhx04/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “they have a better sol - 5.6 sol. they should leave it and make it cheaper.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrcc9j/astra_minor_astra_61_and_devday_we_see_50/pcbvh3f/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “i hope they wont nerf astra, this model is so damn good, we need the same astra but cheaper :x let me dream guys!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wr1oir/they_are_aware_and_working_on_it_apparently_just/pcauu3q/)

### 10. Advance notice before plan or allowance changes

- Cursor, 2026-09-22, @cursor_ai (X): “@adamdittrichone @bot 4.7 torching bot usage is one meter; other models got the knife too. opened heavy for gifted ultra; then $400→$100 with no notice. <strict_link> @xai @cursor_ai” [source](https://twitter.com/2062866394967097344/status/2102218042512130459)
- Cursor, 2026-09-21, @cursor_ai (X): “@1280mhz @cursor_ai @spacexai @tibor_tee not saying they should have grandfathered us in. but they should have. but once they decided to change they should have told us and offered an opt out refund.” [source](https://twitter.com/1553888707/status/2102023662094188792)
- Cursor, 2026-09-20, @cursor_ai (X): “@benvargas @cursor_ai that silent pricing edit feels shady, ultra folks deserved a heads up” [source](https://twitter.com/356747245/status/2101645102321975790)

### 11. Restore original other-models allowance pool

- Cursor, 2026-09-25, @cursor_ai (X): “@fatih @cursor_ai would be cool to use if cursor didn’t reduced by -80% ultra allowance last month” [source](https://twitter.com/1878902328075366400/status/2103524408627220525)
- Cursor, 2026-09-24, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai a 7% token-cost cut is good engineering. pair it with honest ultra quotas. i'm on ultra via supergrok heavy. mid-subscription other models ~$400 → $100 — cursor confirmed heavy-linked ultra deliberately gets the smaller allowance. efficiency gains mean little if the entitlement was cut silently mid-cycle.” [source](https://twitter.com/1822950236593192961/status/2102928249193947286)
- Cursor, 2026-09-23, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai will you guys roll back to $400 for ultra credits?” [source](https://twitter.com/4556876521/status/2102797223021150671)

### 12. Bring back removed models

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “i wouldn’t even be mad at the usage if we got the day 1-3 astra back.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrqch8/im_switching_to_opus_55/pcf20rn/)
- GitHub Copilot, 2026-09-27, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “very frustrating, i'm a light user who occasionally want s to use a more capable model. it seems to me that pro plan users are effectively being handed a capability downgrade when terra 5.6 is withdrawn.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wowlux/gpt_6_sol_not_available_on_pro_plan/pcdzoc4/)
- Devin, 2026-09-24, @cognition (X): “@learnmore_smart @cognition i’m not ready for when they pull it from us i loved swe1.7 unlimited so much” [source](https://twitter.com/1016368499764035584/status/2103213188917633053)

### OpenCode

- Praise, 2026-09-27, @opencode (X): “@opencode permanent 4 times the quota, this is too good!! it feels like going back to that cheap time again.” [source](https://twitter.com/1748855865363615744/status/2104009489729179790)
- Praise, 2026-09-25, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “"they" didn't reduce anything. they adjusted their limits based on deepseek's pricing. now they've found a way to make $60 of usage permanent and the first reply is a complaint. never change, r/opencodecli” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wpzekf/operation_cheepseek_phase_2/pbzowva/)

- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/opencode (Reddit): “they started using third party providers when they started dropping from $60 limit to $15 limit a few months ago. everything open-weight served by opencode zen/go should be assumed to be quantized and will have worse cache hits/retention than 1st party api will.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wqy8pq/how_true_is_it_that_opencode_go_models_are/pc9ubms/)

- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/opencode (Reddit): “lol no definitely not. opencode has a $10 subscription plan called go, where they claim you get $60 of value compared to through the api. only problem is their supported models list as wells as the amount of usage/cost changes kind of frequently and with little notice. they just announced that ds4.1 flash is going to be $60 worth again after taking it away, it's been a whole saga.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wq8vp9/best_free_model_after_deepseek_leave/pcg3azy/)

### Claude Code

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “part of it is published and measurable: a cache hit on 5.5 costs 0.05x of base input, where every earlier model was 0.1x, and base input itself went from $5 to $4. for agentic coding that's most of the bill, because cache reads are the overwhelming majority of what a session sends - 97% of my tokens across eight weeks. i repriced those eight weeks of real transcripts at both rate cards: identical token counts came out 44% cheaper on 5.5, not the” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wrpq38/any_idea_what_anthropic_figured_out/pcgbjqu/)

- Praise, 2026-09-27, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs it was always rude that claude did this earlier, it's glad it's fixing it.... being polite is not slapping us with limits.... this small fixes allowance is a elegant move.” [source](https://twitter.com/1881642473539444736/status/2104165489207611830)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i find myself using luna a lot too because even 5.6 terra is getting out of reach for my $100 plan. plus the pro max plan is gonna come up and the lower tier plans are only gonna get worse.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wrf5fb/opus_55_vs_gpt_6_sol/pcc25rh/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i noticed that limits are always particularly bad when new models are about to launch. it had been the same with opus5 and fable. after the release it's fine for a while and then gets worse again” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wrjhyp/are_the_limits_that_good/pccz1ka/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “gemini 4.0 came out this morning and many are already saying it’s better than opus 5.5, haven’t tried it myself but can’t wait to give it a try. tired of anthropic’s shadiness and rug pulls” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wrjhyp/are_the_limits_that_good/pcd1pqn/)

### GitHub Copilot

- Praise, 2026-09-27, @GitHubCopilot (X): “thanks @githubcopilot for the $210 bonus credit 🙏 we're putting all of it to work before it expires on 30 sept: security hardening, clearing our pr backlog, more test coverage, and moving always-on jobs to our own dgx. free credit → reviewed code on main. good deal. #githubcopilot #dwsiq” [source](https://twitter.com/14186604/status/2104070558862213517)

### OpenAI Codex

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “usage is actually very transparent. you can check your entire consumption with codex, and you can even see what a quota of 100 points represents in codex credits, rather than relying on token counts, which can vary depending on cache usage. so far, they have never changed the quota itself. it's just that some models, like astra for example, cost much more in codex credits. but gpt-5.6 sol has been very stable at around 60k codex credits per full” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrazdi/i_cannot_take_this_anymore/pcbbii9/)

### Google Antigravity

- Praise, 2026-09-17, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “seems they updated it when they fixed the 3.8 flash server issue, also i did kinda notice they give kinda higher usage on weekly limit now compared to last week. but still 3.8 flash eats more tokens that what i wanted. maybe back to 3.7 as default but use 3.8 for mapping out the project before doing the fix.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wi8z7u/did_they_change_the_model_or_what/paana2g/)
