Feedback Bench, coding agents, built 2026-10-01, window 2026-08-31 to 2026-09-27. Web page: https://feedbackbench.com/#/criterion/billing.subscription_portability

Area: [Paying and limits](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/paying.md)

**Definition.** Whether a paid subscription from one vendor can be used inside another agent or harness, or used as an API outside the vendor's own app.

**Boundary.** Not this: see [Connecting own API keys, local models and custom endpoints](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/setup.provider_byok_local.md) for API keys, local models and custom endpoints.

Rated author-weeks, all agents: 655. Complaint share: 62%.

## The brief

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 from 92 labelled posts and the numbers on this page. Interpretation, not measurement: every quote is verbatim and links to its post.

**Codex plans travel freely; Claude and Antigravity plans stay fenced in.**

TL;DR:

- Codex leads because users can carry a ChatGPT plan into almost any third-party harness.
- Claude Code, Antigravity and Cursor lag as users hit locked plans, ban threats and tangled billing.
- Harnesses that accept existing subscriptions, like Amp, Zed and Pi, win praise but inherit Anthropic's lock.

In plain terms: If you pay for ChatGPT, you can usually use that plan in other coding tools, though links sometimes break. If you pay for Claude or Google, users say you are stuck in their apps or must pay API rates.

### How it breaks

- **Claude plans stop at Claude Code** ([Using an existing subscription across tools](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/billing.subscription_portability.md)). Users with Claude subscriptions hit a wall in every other harness, and the frustration lands on Amp, Pi, Zed and Factory as much as on Anthropic.
This is the most repeated complaint, seen from many sides. Pi, Amp, Zed and Factory users want their Claude Max or Pro plan inside those tools and cannot use it. Some report community OAuth packages working in Pi. Others route through Claude Code headless to stay inside what Anthropic tolerates. Amp users report burning Amp credits after assuming a Claude sub was in use. Several say the lock alone pushed them toward GPT models.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-03: “@bcherny it exists already, it’s called @pidotdev, and please stop blocking us from using it with the subscription.” [source](https://twitter.com/47647890/status/2095601217577668641)
 - Complaint, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-18: “@solllin @ampcode indeed, and i do. but claude subs dont work with the amp agent because anthropic has no courage” [source](https://twitter.com/33135576/status/2100812466368475490)
 - Praise, Pi, r/PiCodingAgent, 2026-09-25: “i’m fairly suspicious of anthropic being able to detect most integrations that allow claude in the drivers seat on pi. i have too much important shit on chat to treat it like a burner account. i personally only do claude subagents on pi via headless since anthropic somewhat sanctions that behavior. if i need claude to drive, i just use claude code for now. pi will proxy to claude code just fine.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wq1bv2/whats_the_best_option_for_using_anthropic/pc0bxyh/)
 - Complaint, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-26: “@sqs @purefunctor @ampcode i mistakenly thought we can now use claude subscriptions through amp where amp uses claude code underneath only for anthropic models. then my amp credits keep going down…. haha” [source](https://twitter.com/1960166959388971008/status/2103902887965491272)

- **Antigravity enforces its walls with bans** ([Using an existing subscription across tools](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/billing.subscription_portability.md)). Antigravity users say using a paid plan outside Google's own apps risks account suspension, which turns a policy gap into a reason to stay away.
Posts describe a walled garden, with Antigravity and CLI access cut for outside use. Users stress that the rule is the problem, not the documentation. The workarounds they describe either mimic the IDE against Google's backend, with real account risk, or delegate work to the official CLI and accept Google's agent instead of the raw model. Letting the plan work in third-party harnesses is Antigravity's single biggest request, with 44 author-weeks asking.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-03: “@evanotero @antigravity "our stance is still that you are not allowed to use your paid service anywhere except inside this walled garden, and if you do then, don't worry, we'll only nuke your antigravity and cli. take care."” [source](https://twitter.com/49702700/status/2095630889006801239)
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-15: “from fable -- "it doesn't use acp, it spawns the agy cli directly in stream-json mode. zero acp in the source. you're right that you get antigravity's agent, not the raw model. that's the point. google doesn't expose the subscription as an api, so the only way to get raw model access through it is to impersonate the ide against their backend, which is what omniroute does and why it needs header scrubbing and identity rotation. codexeni stays inside what the cli officially supports. agent delegation is the trade-off for not risking the account." but i have no rebuttal to the point that you are still getting the sometimes-stupid bots. this may not be a solution for your problem. i have fable delegating very specific small explicit tasks and to "assume any work done by flash is lying and confirm all output" lol. i have the work done by flash reviewed in batches by an opus model.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wg3igg/i_gave_antigravity_only_three_instructions/p9y0j5s/)
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-04: “@johnpippett @evanotero @antigravity yeah this is such a no brainer. i don’t get it lmao” [source](https://twitter.com/1813196383496859648/status/2095683384186122486)

- **Codex portability works until it breaks** ([Using an existing subscription across tools](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/billing.subscription_portability.md)). Codex's open stance is its biggest draw, but users report OAuth errors, sudden cutoffs in OpenCode and murky terms about what counts as allowed.
Even the best-rated agent here draws complaints, and they target whether the promise holds. One user hit an error saying OAuth cannot be used outside Codex. OpenCode users asked why ChatGPT subs stopped working. Others parse support replies that call reselling unsupported rather than forbidden, and argue over whether API-like use breaks the terms. Plan perks also lag the API. Users say the cheaper slow tier is missing from subscriptions.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-25: “@thsottiaux why did chatgpt subs stop working in @opencode <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/1473148067306262529/status/2103616532987490350)
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-16: “>you can use your codex subscription with other harnesses. honestly how, when i last tried that, it gives api error, "oauth can't be used outside of codex." or something like that. pretty sure, they removed all the access, unless you do shady solutions. and if you use 'other harness' in different tier or integration, it will just use acp or codex directly. so it ends up the same harness.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1whoo9s/this_is_worst_then_i_imagine_about_weekly_resets/pa63w3b/)
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-09: “"converting subscription into api traffic to re-serve or share accorss many users is not something we do support" i'm not doing that lmao also "not support" != "not allowed"” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wbx46q/astra_is_generating_infinite_whitespace_thats_why/p8th1j6/)
 - Complaint, OpenAI Codex, r/codex, 2026-09-12: “there is "flex" provider in api which is 2x cheaper and it's basically slow mode. but not in the sub :(” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wdsjpe/please_give_us_a_slow_mode/p9ax8qi/)

- **Cursor billing tangles linked products** ([Using an existing subscription across tools](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/billing.subscription_portability.md)). Cursor users cannot bring an OpenAI sub into Cursor and find shared benefits across partnered products confusing, so many pay twice or leave.
Requests here are about consolidation, not raw access. Users want one bill across Cursor and its linked products, a way to move token allotments between them, and clear rules on what each plan unlocks. Unified billing is Cursor's top ask, with 27 author-weeks requesting it. Some keep Cursor as a free editor and run Claude Code or Codex extensions on their own plans. Others cancelled and moved to VS Code so they could switch providers freely.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-11: “@mooretk14 @cursor_ai @bot i think that might be fine to end up there. regular claude and gpt stay out of my way unless i need them. i would just like them to get billing consolidated. because right now it's a mess, @spacexai” [source](https://twitter.com/995626692/status/2098247261977256399)
 - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-23: “the relationship between @cursor_ai @x @grok and @bot is very odd. you can subscribe to each separately, but each share benefits across each other. it’s very strange and not straightforward. i’d love to see @spacexai simplify this so it’s easier to know what to subscribe to based on our specific use case.” [source](https://twitter.com/1788271564649029632/status/2102870864266240305)
 - Complaint, Cursor, @cursor_ai, 2026-09-04: “if cursor still will not eat your openai sub, stop fighting ungate. run cursor on whatever model it hosts cleanly, and put openai tokens in codex cli or a byok harness for the jobs that need that stack. paying twice for the same tokens is the failure mode. the ide bill and the model bill do not have to be the same vendor.” [source](https://twitter.com/2070933356234080256/status/2095692813837258833)
 - Praise, Cursor, r/cursor, 2026-09-18: “i've been using cursor as my ide for the past year with no subscription. i use claude code and codex (pro plans) extensions. i think the only reason why i kept using cursor instead of just going back to vscode is because i already customized it to the way i like and didn't feel like doing it again. either way, no issues not having a subscription and don't feel like i'm missing out on anything it would provide.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wjut29/is_there_any_point_in_keeping_my_legacy_cursor/pam0t0j/)

- **Bring-your-own-plan harnesses earn loyalty** ([Using an existing subscription across tools](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/billing.subscription_portability.md)). When a harness accepts subscriptions users already pay for, the praise is specific and loud. Users want to pay for the environment, not pay twice for the models.
Amp users list linking a ChatGPT sub as a headline feature. Zed is praised as the platform that best lets budget users bring a frontier plan they already have. Conductor, the Grok Build extension and Devin's offer to accept existing subs draw the same reaction. Demand is broad. Bringing an existing subscription is the top request on this page, and Amp leads it.
 Evidence:
 - Praise, Conductor, @conductor_build, 2026-09-10: “@thomaspaulmann @rayyanarchy yes look at how @asideai & @conductor_build let u use your subscriptions you already have. you are making the environment for us to run our ai. i want to pay for a better environment… not for the models i already have.” [source](https://twitter.com/1808111446925946880/status/2098054789183541651)
 - Praise, Amp, @AmpCode, 2026-09-04: “ok so i love @ampcode . it's now my main driver for work. they have all the features i really wanted, that i was prepared to create my own harness for: - can use my chatgpt sub - easy cloud machines that just work (but also lets you plug in your own!) - great cross-thread comms, and a meta thread agent (puck). on mobile, i'll typically just talk to puck to coordinate work - speaking of which, solid ios app in beta - multiplayer, me and my team can collaborate and see each other's threads - supports schedules, and webhooks to automate workflows, and everything is setup via agent, no need for manual setup” [source](https://twitter.com/109443773/status/2095675039031136561)
 - Praise, Zed, @zeddotdev, 2026-09-05: “i had never been called a vip in anything before, but @zeddotdev granted me this pleasant honor. i tell everyone that zed is the best software for writing any type of text, for coding, for vibe coding, and for working with ai. zed is the platform that best lets you bring your own subscriptions without having to rely exclusively on theirs. this is worth a lot for people like me who have a very tight budget and need to choose the most cost-effective ai source — that is usually a $20 subscription to any frontier model. i recommend that anyone try zed. if you try it, you will be hooked like a fish on a rapala lure, just as i was.” [source](https://twitter.com/789888781059035136/status/2096305690188939517)
 - Praise, Grok Build, r/cursor, 2026-09-10: “try "grok build for vs code" extension. 120k+ installs via open vsx and vs code marketplace. open source. [<strict_link> works as a cursor ide extension too. unlike in cursor, you get oryginal harnesses for grok build, claude code, and codex. and bring your own subscriptions without cursor's. below, a remote control view, the ui is similar across all surfaces. <strict_link>” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wbust5/grok_officially_ruined_cursor_ide/p8wzb6g/)

### Who stands out

- **OpenAI Codex (stronger)**. Codex wins this criterion because users can carry a ChatGPT plan into OpenCode, Pi, Amp, Droid and even Claude Code's harness.
Posts treat Codex portability as the default yardstick against Claude. Users pair a Claude plan with a Codex plan and connect the Codex sub to other harnesses for headroom. One user argues the openness creates a healthier feedback loop, because bad Codex behaviour shows up as users leaving. The weak spots are the error and cutoff reports covered above.
 Evidence:
 - Praise, OpenAI Codex, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app, 2026-09-25: “its clear why codex app is better than claude. codex: use your sub anywhere claude: our harness or api cost very few can afford api costs so when codex does something bad: usage will drop but claude? little effect bad feedback loops = bad products (good model tho!)” [source](https://twitter.com/1214279737599594496/status/2103508942395768843)
 - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/GithubCopilot, 2026-09-10: “both are worth it at $20 and both beat the copilot $40 tier on usage right now. codex has the more generous limits and lets you use third-party harnesses on the subscription; claude code is the stronger agent for larger multi-file changes but the subscription is locked to its own cli. before you pick, check which copilot model you were on. auto and the premium models burn credits fast, and a few people here on luna are at 10% for the month.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wcj4ce/i_cancelled_my_github_copilot_subscription_are/p8z0b28/)
 - Praise, OpenAI Codex, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-21: “yes this is the way - just connect codex sub to you cc harness and you will get good usage limits.. i have claude 5x + codex plus and its working well” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wmbt29/two_5x_sub_or_one_20x_sub/pb5rfdu/)
 - Praise, Factory, @droid, 2026-09-06: “@droid i’m building with droid using my codex subscription. best of both worlds.” [source](https://twitter.com/936056895114235904/status/2096448624280412478)

- **Claude Code (weaker)**. Users praise Claude Code as an agent, but its subscription stays locked to Anthropic's own tools, and users count that against it.
Users confirm the sub works in Claude Code's terminal and IDE extensions, while third-party harnesses need API billing. Posts call outside use a terms violation, describe Anthropic tightening it earlier in the year, and cite limits on headless use. Several users say the lock pushed them to OpenCode or Codex. Some say they would return if it lifted.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-08: “@erden_xi @opencode works well in my opinion, but using a claude subscription in another agent is against their terms of service, unfortunately” [source](https://twitter.com/2088012313487937536/status/2097137558786310193)
 - Praise, Pi, @pidotdev, 2026-09-20: “because anthropic stopped allowing claude use outside its own harness at the beginning of the year. with only exception that you can use whatever you want if you billed via api, not a subscription. greedy… by the way @pidotdev is the great alternative harness that supports claude and other ai dev tools” [source](https://twitter.com/266003946/status/2101530339839451439)
 - Praise, Claude Code, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-27: “if you want to use 3rd party harnesses, you might need api. with claude code, cc in visual studio code and other ides you won't and can use subs. i use a 100$ max 5x daily in cc with almost exclusively agentic workflows.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wr0wic/is_everyone_here_millionaires/pcckhfn/)
 - Complaint, OpenCode, r/ClaudeCode, 2026-09-06: “i moved to opencode for this exact reason. i feel inference should be entirely harness agnostic in the future. if nothing has changed, you can’t use claude sub with opencode though. and that fact, plus how shitty opus 5 was, made me basically abandon claude. i was a huge clauder before, but i feel their direction lately is not great. if they release more efficient models that are actually competitive for consumer use, and allow sub with third party harness, i might reconsider. but those are currently dealbreakers.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1w8qphl/model_agnostic_harness_setup/p84odji/)

- **Google Antigravity (weaker)**. Antigravity draws the loudest demand for outside access. The only sanctioned route users find is driving the official CLI on their Pro quota.
Beyond the ban fears, a smaller group reports success authenticating the agy CLI with a Pro subscription and calling it from other agents, paying only for orchestration tokens. Others warn that a Gemini API key just runs up a bill. A few praise cheap access through family plans. The overall mood still tilts heavily negative.
 Evidence:
 - Complaint, Google Antigravity, @antigravity, 2026-09-04: “@evanotero @antigravity this only confirms the initial problem. if we use our subscription on applications other than those provided, we will receive a ban; the problem is not the clarity of the documentation, but the rule itself.” [source](https://twitter.com/2241633084/status/2095703294484054273)
 - Praise, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-02: “i use hermes with an aistudio api key, but have authenticated in agy cli with my pro subscription. so my hermes agent can invoke agy for me, while only costing the tokens needed to talk to it and orchestrate it. so far so good!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1w5kvoh/antigravity_cli_remote_setup_as_personal_agent/p7h3sj2/)
 - Praise, Google Antigravity, r/google_antigravity, 2026-09-07: “yes you run agy which is a cli interface. i use 3.8 on my gemini pro subscription without any issues. i think i may have had to initially set up api access but anyway it just runs and uses my pro quota without any problems. it may say "ai: out of credits" in the lower right but it'll continue to use your sub quota. <strict_link>” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1w9q3ch/i_never_thought_i_would_hit_the_5_hour_gemini/p8d04wj/)
 - Praise, Google Antigravity, r/opencode, 2026-09-05: “using your gemini api key will rack up a bill. oh my pi omp.sh will let you use your google auth to leverage your antigravity subscription instead. agy recently upgraded the headless mode so not sure why opencode doesn't have this option as of yet” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1w6okmt/opencode_with_gemini_api/p82avy6/)

- **OpenCode (mixed)**. OpenCode both hosts portable subs and sells its own plan. Users credit it as a hub and blame it when links break.
Users report linking ChatGPT Plus accounts easily. They also run OpenCode Go plans inside Codex, Claude Code and Copilot's app as a provider, and one plugin routes several subs through official CLIs. Complaints come from the edges. ChatGPT subs and Go plan keys stopped working without notice, Claude subs stay off limits, and API keys need prepaid credits instead of drawing on the plan.
 Evidence:
 - Praise, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-16: “i created a codex/claude code plugin to allow both harnesses to use my @opencode go, @antigravity and @cursor_ai subs through their official clis. really easy way to avoid the limits when using astra/fable <strict_link>” [source](https://twitter.com/243793577/status/2100238817974194185)
 - Praise, OpenCode, r/codex, 2026-09-24: “opencode is a service, not just a harness. you can use your opencode go subscription even in codex or claude code. i've been running ds4.1 in omp for like 12+ hours now nonstop on my opencode go $10 plan. opus 5.5 had like 7 threads going at a time at one point. sometimes it was using luna6 as well. and there's a free stealth model on opencode that i gave to opus 5.5 to use as a free code review.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wox48m/luna_6_vs_luna_56/pbsb8xp/)
 - Praise, OpenCode, r/GithubCopilot, 2026-09-11: “i am doing the same now as well, having opencode go as a separate model provider in github copilot app, i also added mistral. this allows me to stick with the copilot harness which i quite like so far. and through this multiple provider option you can basically have access to most models (might need different subscriptions). i agree that luna already gets you quite far, on high or max level it matches sol medium only way cheaper see: [<strict_link>” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wcj4ce/i_cancelled_my_github_copilot_subscription_are/p93wi7m/)
 - Complaint, OpenCode, @opencode, 2026-09-25: “@thdxr @opencode did go plan api keys stop working for hermes? mine hasn't been working since 2 days.” [source](https://twitter.com/1562760517/status/2103405968319214061)

### Fine print

- Factory, Devin, Cline, Zed, GitHub Copilot and others have too few posts to judge, and Kiro, Warp and Augment Code have none.
- Claims about terms of service and bans are user reports, not verified vendor policy, and users note these policies shift often.
- Posts span roughly one month, so recent policy changes may not be reflected.

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 355 author-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by Claude Sonnet 5 reads every counted post and extracts what the author asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. Claude Opus 5.5 groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes; code counts them. A theme counts distinct author-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one author-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 author-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different authors, without slurs, preferring posts of 60 to 450 characters, most recent first.

### 1. Bring existing subscription into this agent

- Amp, 2026-09-27, @AmpCode (X): “@anthropicai set opus 5.5 free, i wanna use my sub in @ampcode .” [source](https://twitter.com/1541582568029831169/status/2104046097211720023)
- Pi, 2026-09-26, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “yeah, i mean, after looking into this, i don't think this is what i need. i actually want to just use pi with opus models directly.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wq1bv2/whats_the_best_option_for_using_anthropic/pc30ait/)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-26, @opencode (X): “my only issue with opus 5.5 is that i can't use it in @opencode through the anthropic subscription. claude cli is so lame” [source](https://twitter.com/1278477860660019204/status/2103963876198903816)

### 2. Allow subscription use in third-party harnesses

- OpenCode, 2026-09-27, r/opencode (Reddit): “yea i love it, wish they added support for other harnesses tbh” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wrs0xl/openchamber_is_so_much_better_than_opencode/pcfpqnx/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “i would've tried using claude/anthropic (again) but the fact they completely prohibit using your subscription via oauth in another harness makes them worthless to me.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqw2qq/warning_codex_allowances_have_dropped_about_20/pcerntl/)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-27, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “google needs to remove the restriction of using google ai subscription only inside agy otherwise you get banned. gemini 3.8 is good but agy is kinda shitty would be cool to use the model in something like opencode” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wrh0mx/gemini_38_in_alternative_harnesses/pcd2rek/)

### 3. Unified subscription across linked products

- Cursor, 2026-09-26, @cursor_ai (X): “months and no action on unifying cursor/grok plans @spacexai? @cursor_ai has been cooking, but my ai budget is for two providers, and that's @anthropicai and cursor which means grok build gets fully cut out of the mix. don't tell me to use it for 4.7 when you make it so i cant” [source](https://twitter.com/995626692/status/2103901849485287638)
- Cursor, 2026-09-23, @cursor_ai (X): “the relationship between @cursor_ai @x @grok and @bot is very odd. you can subscribe to each separately, but each share benefits across each other. it’s very strange and not straightforward. i’d love to see @spacexai simplify this so it’s easier to know what to subscribe to based on our specific use case.” [source](https://twitter.com/1788271564649029632/status/2102870864266240305)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-23, @opencode (X): “me, i'm considering migrating to a @superset_sh. too much disappointment with astra, then discovered @opencode with deepseek. all through opencodex. and i would really like a little max claude x5, a little openai plus and open code go to access different models and stop being dependent on a single ai operator. then depending on the releases of new models, well you adapt your plans.” [source](https://twitter.com/2020058961957773312/status/2102839151552835867)

### 4. API access included with subscription

- OpenCode, 2026-09-26, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “can i use it via api directly or is it like an "oauth" thing? if api that's huge!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wpzekf/operation_cheepseek_phase_2/pc4rfip/)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-09-26, @antigravity (X): “@the__csy20 @palaashatri @antigravity they should let you use the api as well if it’s so cheap it will literally be cheaper for them to serve” [source](https://twitter.com/2022353157402103808/status/2103912984946917437)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-21, r/opencode (Reddit): “i have taken muse code subscription and im not able to create api keys so that i can use it with other harness. im only able to use it with muse code and the response are very slow it is taking a lot of time to get the work done.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1vtocki/anyone_else_fine_muse_spark_12_to_be/pb55veu/)

### 5. Cross-access between partnered products' subscriptions

### 6. Transfer subscription or credits to another vendor

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “i would, but i haven't used my 2x pro plans since opus 5.5 came out. tibo, cut a deal with anthropic to let us use our reset tokens on cc instead.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrrry1/psa_use_your_banked_resets/pcfqkmv/)

### 7. Subscription plan instead of pay-per-use API

- OpenCode, 2026-09-18, @opencode (X): “@hesomparhizkar @opencode same, ran out yesterday and tried to use free/contributor/stealth nodels like union alpha with it. unusable. opencode go, ollama, or maybe a zai sub? many options. i wished deepseek had subs. apis can be expensive.” [source](https://twitter.com/455899207/status/2100870520501682419)

### 8. Multiple subscriptions in one session

- Amp, 2026-09-26, @AmpCode (X): “@homborg @ampcode it seems like i can only have one codex subscription, though. that's kind a bummer for me. i'm also trying out t3 and it lets me have multiple codex subscriptions. it might not be a deal breaker, but it's a point to t3, at least.” [source](https://twitter.com/36411940/status/2103862333936390592)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-16, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i have 2 claude subs that i want to continue 1 code session on. ive tried a bunch of suggestions from ai it never seems to get me the kind of software i want i have 2 claude code subscriptions and i want to use them combined on one chat i have in the vs code client i dont care if it has to move out of vs code into something similar to claude desktop.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1whkgip/i_need_a_tool_that_will_allow_me_to_manage/)

### 9. Access to subscription integration beta

- Amp, 2026-09-23, @AmpCode (X): “@sqs @purefunctor @ampcode @sqs can i also get this private beta setting? i'm in the same shoes as justin, claude sdk / subscription is the only thing holding me back from full amp/orb usage (i already use the claude cli workaround but it's a bit clunky)” [source](https://twitter.com/2000470921329709056/status/2102730076936942058)

### 10. Portable context and workflows across vendors

- OpenCode, 2026-09-10, @opencode (X): “@opencode i want model providers competing for my business every morning. if a better model drops tonight, switching tomorrow shouldn’t mean rebuilding my entire workflow.” [source](https://twitter.com/55046808/status/2097932591278047477)
- Cursor, 2026-09-09, @cursor_ai (X): “@jmginer @sama @elonmusk @openai @cursor_ai the painful part is workflow lock-in: the editor is only one layer, while project context, prompts, and agent habits become infrastructure. exportable context and model portability should be table stakes for tools people build businesses on.” [source](https://twitter.com/1960341013626515456/status/2097625188020240449)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-07, r/codex (Reddit): “how would you feel if someone else provided the infrastructure that made it worth it? codex is tremendous value but in 5 years i want to know that my entire workflow can stay with me” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w9i5zu/gpt6_astra_light_together_with_the_entire_openai/p8c08c1/)

### 11. Resubscribe across payment methods and platforms

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-22, r/codex (Reddit): “if i was on the 20x plan thru apple at some point in the past (thru june) am i still able to resubscribe to it on an account that’s had the plan before? tried to restore the purchase but since i’ve since bought the $100 pro plan on this account outside of apple it won’t let me saying i need to do it on the platform i bought my subscription on” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1whlif0/support_just_told_me_they_arent_renewing_people/pbc47vc/)
- Devin, 2026-09-12, @cognition (X): “@romainhuet @figma @box @cognition @tryramp @clairevo @yashbhavnani0 @jmilinovich @hinaljajal @silasalberti be active on the post so that openai sees.make an exception and allow purchase x20 pro who have paid for a subscription to x20 pro more than 10 times from a single account over time. i think this is fair and won’t affect the load on the servers, since there aren’t many such users” [source](https://twitter.com/2045942068464201728/status/2098698038470402386)

### 12. Business subscription purchase option

- Grok Build, 2026-09-13, r/cursor (Reddit): “its wierd seeing the many bad experiences from all of you with grok 4.6. i actually had t opposite experience. i was unhappy with the high prices of claude enterprise in my company. bei g the guy responsible for rolling out ai to everybody i was looking for alternatives. i started to try grok build and cursor and after initially having a problem with trusting their models in any way i became pretty convinced. grok 4.6 was so good i even decide” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1weddl3/thats_has_happened_to_cursor/p9i8zid/)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-09-08, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “as someone who uses all 3 models: 1. top tier model is better for 1 shot while gemini is fast and economical. most of the use case would prefer 1 shot. 2. its ecosystem (harness) is not as polished as claude or codex imo, or it’s not good enough to convince others to switch models 3. lack of marketing: claude and codex is overhyped compare to gemini. 4. for corporate users not able to purchase antigravity in subscription mode also hurts budget” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1waolu4/why_does_antigravity_have_so_few_users/p8l2xhx/)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-03, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “geminis biggest issue is it’s designed to keep you in a chat loop. it always finishes a prompt with a question. if it can’t reason a question related to your prompt/chat it will look into side quests. have a question about global warming? you’ll eventually be led down a path of dinosaurs and/or colonising mars. it’s typical google algorithmic style doom scrolling in text format. if they fucked this off, gemini would be a solid personal ai assist” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1w61zf5/i_cant_believe_im_saying_this_but_the_free/p7jmurv/)

### OpenAI Codex

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “if you are subbed on your pc you can use it on phone.... the price difference you mention is due to apple or google, not due to anthropic i pay $0 on my phone cus i am already subscribed on pc” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wr1oir/they_are_aware_and_working_on_it_apparently_just/pcb2cm4/)
- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “with either t3 code or open webui computer you can use multiple subscriptions and be provider agnostic. that's my lesson from all this. one click and i can switch from astra to opus, or any of the other models, and keep working on the same project.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrfqeh/wdyt_theyre_going_to_do_with_us/pcfxn2w/)
- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “openai allows it. you can use codex sub like api, not just call codex in batch mode. we've baked openai oauth into our tool. i have openai whatever their $200 plan is, and (multiple) claude max subs. astra was the first time i really started using codex over claude, but opus 5.5 pulled me back. i find claude code to be as good or better that the others. it could also be that i'm more familiar with it.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wr57vg/claude_code_harness/pcdbyob/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “within the official apps, not really - the codex clients are all first-party, so there's no third-party app that can use your chatgpt subscription. two workarounds that actually help: - the codex cli and ide extensions use the same subscription, and the app-server underneath the desktop app is open source (github.com/openai/codex). some people run the app server headless and drive it from a custom or minimal ui instead of the desktop app. - on io” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wr57y7/new_ui_in_codex_is/pcbjh9u/)

- Praise, 2026-09-25, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “i’m fairly suspicious of anthropic being able to detect most integrations that allow claude in the drivers seat on pi. i have too much important shit on chat to treat it like a burner account. i personally only do claude subagents on pi via headless since anthropic somewhat sanctions that behavior. if i need claude to drive, i just use claude code for now. pi will proxy to claude code just fine.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wq1bv2/whats_the_best_option_for_using_anthropic/pc0bxyh/)

- Complaint, 2026-09-26, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “yes and it proxies it through claude code. all your tool calls, skills etc is provided by claude code anyway, so you just add pi as a dumb interface to claude code. then you might as well just use claude code” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wqmcmk/poll_claude_sub_with_pi_what_method_do_you_use/pc5d1bg/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-25, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “same. it's an inescapable fact that anthropic doesn't want their subscriptions used with other agents. so i use openai's subscriptions and make light use of pay-per-token anthropic apis. someone downvoted you, but this was the only logical way for me.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wq1bv2/whats_the_best_option_for_using_anthropic/pc0oobo/)

### OpenCode

- Praise, 2026-09-25, r/opencode (Reddit): “i've had been using opencode tui for a while as opencode desktop just sucked. it has been great. i discovered the openchamber and it is just a frontend but it just improved my workflow quite a lot. you don't need to migrate anything as openchamber just picks up the opencode config and everything rights right away. you can keep using your subscriptions. you'll get more features and handy tools via openchamber. just use it for a few days and you'” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wpt89d/opencode_desktop_vs_opencode_v2_desktop_vs/pby6690/)

- Praise, 2026-09-24, r/codex (Reddit): “opencode is a service, not just a harness. you can use your opencode go subscription even in codex or claude code. i've been running ds4.1 in omp for like 12+ hours now nonstop on my opencode go $10 plan. opus 5.5 had like 7 threads going at a time at one point. sometimes it was using luna6 as well. and there's a free stealth model on opencode that i gave to opus 5.5 to use as a free code review.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wox48m/luna_6_vs_luna_56/pbsb8xp/)

- Praise, 2026-09-15, r/cursor (Reddit): “google ai pro gives you access to the gemini app and gemini models in antigravity for coding. i hope xai would implement this too, $30 subscription with pro access to grok app and increase usage of grok models in cursor. xai right now has separate subscription system, one for grok app and another for cursor.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wgwak8/unified_subscription_access/)

### Cursor

- Praise, 2026-09-26, @cursor_ai (X): “getting @grok build with @cursor_ai usage would be the bees knees” [source](https://twitter.com/48780576/status/2103958897493225716)
- Praise, 2026-09-23, r/cursor (Reddit): “for someone that used lovable for a long time, 2 years, before coming to cursor, i tell you now, cursor is far better and affordable. also, i can use claude models while using cursor as the harness, that’s very beneficial considering the competition, you don’t want to be stuck with one provider.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wnpgmf/canceled_cursor_today_after_using_it_for_many/pbhsq31/)
- Praise, 2026-09-18, r/cursor (Reddit): “i've been using cursor as my ide for the past year with no subscription. i use claude code and codex (pro plans) extensions. i think the only reason why i kept using cursor instead of just going back to vscode is because i already customized it to the way i like and didn't feel like doing it again. either way, no issues not having a subscription and don't feel like i'm missing out on anything it would provide.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wjut29/is_there_any_point_in_keeping_my_legacy_cursor/pam0t0j/)

- Complaint, 2026-09-25, @cursor_ai (X): “hey when can i take full advantage of cursor with grok super heavy. having these still fully seperate feels so wrong. even if it's limited / less credits or shared between products their should be some form of sharing. this stuff looks cool. i don't want to pay for more subscriptions and feel obligated to fully use them. i'd rather have the one subscription, fully use it and feel value in paying extra in the overages rather than feeling like i'm” [source](https://twitter.com/962207299/status/2103346035523568116)

### Claude Code

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “they officially confirmed it is fine, and have made it easier to switch between multiple subs. it helps them too lol, they get to count 2 or 3 paying customers.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wr0wic/is_everyone_here_millionaires/pcckeuo/)
- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “if you want to use 3rd party harnesses, you might need api. with claude code, cc in visual studio code and other ides you won't and can use subs. i use a 100$ max 5x daily in cc with almost exclusively agentic workflows.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wr0wic/is_everyone_here_millionaires/pcckhfn/)
- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeAI (Reddit): “i built "aita" - autonomous triage agent for my homelab. it holds my homelab context and reacts on alerts from grafana, troubleshoots (read only) and proposes a remediation plan for execution for urgent issues, or writes an issue in the homelab backlog. been running for half a year, should release but it's too much tied into my homelab framing instead of generic conventions. the best part is that it's running as a harness for claude code so you n” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/comments/1wrckhp/what_tool_have_you_built_for_yourself_with_claude/pcco9zc/)

- Complaint, 2026-09-27, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “most of this maps to what i've set up. stealing the one-line reports and touched-tests-only. the cli flags don't help me since headless runs bill api-rate on my setup, so i get the same effect from tool allowlists on agent-tool subagents.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wropen/i_keep_hitting_usage_limits_on_20x_plan_have/pceh3ow/)

- Praise, 2026-09-19, @FactoryAI (X): “@techpoto @mikez93 @tereza_tizkova @amypretzel @factoryai @droid they have support for 3rd party subs locally and their droid core (chinese/oss offerings) is a lot more usage than api!” [source](https://twitter.com/1892774905789501441/status/2101341888284672253)

- Complaint, 2026-09-18, @FactoryAI (X): “oh cool i didn't know this existed. i was just trying out grok bot this week and i really like the ux but my main pain point is that i want to use my cc and @factoryai droid subscriptions with it, which isn't possible. part of me wants to basically build this (lol) but i'd rather use and even contribute to a working solution and this seems pretty nice. i will take a deeper look over the weekend!” [source](https://twitter.com/377179355/status/2100990641325142174)
- Complaint, 2026-09-18, @droid (X): “. @droid is having too much deserved success lately with enterprises. now imagine if they could allow natively : add your codex sub, or allow it at the 20$ plan for us broke peasants. would you use it?” [source](https://twitter.com/1811332417099055105/status/2101064963309883724)

### Devin

- Praise, 2026-09-19, @cognition (X): “big shoutout to the @cognition team they're goated. only way imma ever use fable 5.1 now ig lmfao i've been seeing them all over the tl these past few months, and i finally decided to give them a try after hitting my codex and k3 limits their cli is super pretty, and swe 2 is super fast on top of that, they gave me a few $200/month subs to give away to my tiktok/instagram followers, which is a bunch of college students so being able to give them” [source](https://twitter.com/2509387159/status/2101310376365396204)

### Cline

- Praise, 2026-09-17, @cline (X): “both my claude code and codex quotas hit zero. codex ~2 days. claude ~3 days. they are playing us for fools. 😡 @thsottiaux no reset. can't open a new pro. can't even buy a reset. folks. listen. the only thing that kept my agent still alive was @cline plugging into my codex. ### Zed

- Praise, 2026-09-05, @zeddotdev (X): “i had never been called a vip in anything before, but @zeddotdev granted me this pleasant honor. i tell everyone that zed is the best software for writing any type of text, for coding, for vibe coding, and for working with ai. zed is the platform that best lets you bring your own subscriptions without having to rely exclusively on theirs. this is worth a lot for people like me who have a very tight budget and need to choose the most cost-effectiv” [source](https://twitter.com/789888781059035136/status/2096305690188939517)
- Complaint, 2026-09-26, r/ZedEditor (Reddit): “i just tried it out for the first time and i don't really get it... the ui is not really intuitive and i have threads... subthreads... and so on. also need to pay extra for it and can't use my claude code subscription (yes thats anthropic who is blocking that) then there is the change panel who does show nothing.. beside the agent is already changing the code... edit: it did now show changes after a while... but the stranges thing is i don't see” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZedEditor/comments/1wq03mv/has_anyone_tried_delta/pc3xwob/)

### GitHub Copilot

- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “get a claude or chatgpt pro sub then proxy it into copilot via byok to use the harness. i keep a copilot sub also for adversarial review (like pair gpt with a claude to argue), copilot code review on prs, and overages.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wr5io2/best_cheaper_alternative/pc9tpgy/)
- Praise, 2026-09-27, r/codex (Reddit): “i don't know how the pricing would compare, but hermes -> copilot sub -> opus 5.5 works. i wonder if there's any other opus providers that are competitive on pricing?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wrtru3/openai_will_need_to_stand_on_their_head_and_add_a/pcga7e5/)

### Conductor

- Praise, 2026-09-10, @conductor_build (X): “@thomaspaulmann @rayyanarchy yes look at how @asideai & @conductor_build let u use your subscriptions you already have. you are making the environment for us to run our ai. i want to pay for a better environment… not for the models i already have.” [source](https://twitter.com/1808111446925946880/status/2098054789183541651)

### Grok Build

- Praise, 2026-09-10, r/cursor (Reddit): “try "grok build for vs code" extension.
