**Bans land without warning, a reason, or a human to appeal to.**

TL;DR:

- Nearly every post is a complaint. Paying users lose access and rarely learn why.
- Claude Code users report second accounts banned within an hour, though staff say multiple accounts are allowed.
- OpenCode draws only complaints, driven by region blocks and false positives from harness policing.

In plain terms: You pay, work for a while, then get locked out with a generic notice. Appeals get denied or ignored. Refunds rarely follow. Region, VPN or third-party tool signals can trigger it even when users say they broke no rule.

### How it breaks

- **Second account, banned within the hour** ([Account bans and access restrictions](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/account.bans_restrictions.md)). Claude Code users who open a second paid account when the first hits its limit report the new one getting banned almost immediately.
  The pattern is consistent. The first account survives. The second, freshly paid, is closed shortly after it takes over a session. Users insist prompts had nothing to do with it. That clashes with a staff statement users quote saying multiple Max accounts are not against the terms. Other users run several accounts for months with no trouble, so the trigger looks inconsistent rather than rule-based. The result reads like a fraud filter firing on new payments.

- **Opaque bans, dead-end appeals** ([Account bans and access restrictions](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/account.bans_restrictions.md)). Users get banned with no stated reason, then must guess the violation to appeal, and support stops engaging once the appeal fails.
  Cursor users say support will not disclose why an account was closed. Codex users describe appeals that must address a ban reason the notice never states, with chargebacks as the only fallback. A Conductor user says a support bot approved the setup, then the appeal was denied without naming a violation. Zed users report being asked for identity details and then ghosted. Clear explanations and human review are two of the most common requests on this page.

  Google Antigravity users worry that third-party tools get Google accounts banned, and question why general coding agents are swept up alongside abuse cases. OpenCode users describe threats of bans for using the cheap plan in other harnesses, plus false positives from that enforcement. Pi users weigh a ban against employer accounts and decline the risk. Stopping bans for harness use is a top request, concentrated among Google Antigravity users.

- **Region blocks and VPN false positives** ([Account bans and access restrictions](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/account.bans_restrictions.md)). Region rules are unclear, and users on VPNs or in edge locations get closed accounts even when they believe they are in permitted areas.
  A Cursor user points out a region listed as allowed in the docs still hits a model restriction. An international student on a VPN lost a freshly paid Claude Code account. Another Cursor user files a human appeal citing a VPN false positive. Some users defend blanket country bans as legal caution, but that does not explain blocks in places the vendor says it serves.

- **Banned mid-subscription, no refund** ([Account bans and access restrictions](https://feedbackbench.com/criteria/account.bans_restrictions.md)). Users report losing access partway through paid terms, including annual plans, with no refund of the unused balance.
  Cursor users describe a year of use ending in a block with no refund, and an annual plan bought before an embargo that was cut off without repayment. Claude Code users ask for a refund if reinstatement fails. Refunding unused subscription after a ban is an explicit request from Claude Code and Cursor users. The money loss is what turns a policy decision into lasting resentment.

### Who stands out

- **OpenCode (weaker)**. The only agent rated worse than peers here, with not one praising post, as region gaps and harness enforcement catch legitimate users.
  Users report bans after heavy multi-machine sessions, unexplained access pauses on the free tier, and endpoints that fail in possibly blocked regions. Enforcement against harness misuse reportedly produces false positives. OpenCode leads every agent on requests for availability in more countries and regions.

- **Google Antigravity (weaker)**. The stakes are higher because a ban can hit the whole Google account, so some users avoid the tool entirely.
  Posts frame the Google account as too important to risk on a coding tool. Users report suspensions spreading and harness-related bans. Some praise a recent policy change as a step toward safety, and one user describes a successful reinstatement after days of effort.

- **OpenAI Codex (mixed)**. Collects the most praise of the big agents, mostly from long-running multi-account users, but its appeals process draws sharp criticism.
  Defenders say bans target accounts flagged for security reasons and their own plans renew fine. Critics describe false flags, appeals that require guessing the reason, and a belief that accounts get silently marked for degraded service. Targeting abusers instead of restricting everyone is a request most common among Codex users.

- **Claude Code (mixed)**. The most complaints on this page, yet also visible reinstatements and community pushback that some banned users omit key details.
  Second-account bans dominate the complaints, along with VPN-linked closures. Claude Code users also lead requests for reinstatement and for human review of bans. Counterweights exist. A user reports being reinstated, and others argue multi-account use alone does not trigger bans.
