# Frontend and visual UI output (`work.frontend_ui`)

Feedback Bench, coding agents, built 2026-10-19, window 2026-08-31 to 2026-10-18. Web page: https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/#/criterion/work.frontend_ui

Area: [Doing the work](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/work.md)

**Definition.** How the agent handles UI design, layout, visual taste and front-end component wiring.

**Boundary.** Not this: see [Breaks existing code or reintroduces bugs](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/work.regressions_introduced.md) for UI bugs reintroduced after fixes.

Rated user-weeks, all agents: 1109. Complaint share: 56%.

## The brief

Written by large language models from this page's numbers and the posts it quotes, then checked: every number in the text is in the build. Interpretation, not measurement.

Claude Code leads on frontend UI. Users say it produces clean designs and can handle ambitious pages such as 3D sites. OpenCode also ranks high. UI work is a small share of what users rate, 1.3%, and 55.7% of rated user-weeks on it are complaints. OpenAI Codex ranks low. Its users rate UI work 2.83 times as often as other users, and they write 53% of the category's complaints here.

### What separates the best from the rest

Claude Code users describe clean designs, ambitious UI experiments that work, and a blind test in which its designs took the top places. OpenCode users praise its front-end design and say it refines its work by comparing screenshots. OpenAI Codex users describe lazy output unless they spell out every detail, layouts with odd gaps, and switching to Claude for visual work. Claude Code gets almost as many complaints as praise, 173 to 180. OpenAI Codex has 327 complaints to 197 praise.

 - Claude Code, 2026-10-14, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “yeah, clean designs. i’ve been making claude do wild ui just to see how much it can handle, and it’s shocking now with 3d sites” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x51dnv/i_tried_solving_the_problem_of_claude_generating/pglkhkb/)
 - OpenCode, 2026-10-12, r/opencode (Reddit): “i find it pretty good at ui work: comparing on screenshots what it did and refining.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wqi4a8/my_honest_opinion_about_spacebunny/pgd8cek/)
- **Ranks low**: [OpenAI Codex](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/agents/codex.md)
 - OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “ux is not one of the strengths of codex model, opus might be better for this task. just sharing from my personal experience.. another option is to use clause design to come up with the shell and use codex to further develop it.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x4ag4r/how_to_make_good_app_ui_with_codex/pgd0sgf/)
 - OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-15, r/codex (Reddit): “you can't be vague with visual stuff using astra or it'll do the laziest version of your thing.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x6fijo/maybe_astra_extra_high_means_something_different/pgwn1f1/)

## How it breaks

Rule: A separate pass sorts complaints into failure modes. For each criterion with at least 30 complaining user-weeks, a large language model reads 150 complaint posts drawn at random and names 4 to 8 failure modes; a second large language model then puts every complaint post on that criterion in one mode, or in Other when it fits none. Modes are fixed once named, and new posts are sorted into them each week. A mode counts distinct user-weeks with a complaint in it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Modes do not change the labels or the Feedback Score. Examples: up to 3 posts per mode from different users, chosen and checked as receipts are.

The most common complaint is a generic, templated look: cards, gradients and stock colours that show up across unrelated projects. It accounts for 43% of complaining user-weeks. OpenAI Codex users file 49% of these and Claude Code users 28%. Ignoring supplied mockups is mostly an OpenAI Codex problem, at 65%. Complaints about animation and graphics split almost evenly between OpenAI Codex and Claude Code.

634 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Generic templated visual style by default | 271 | 287 | OpenAI Codex 134, Claude Code 77, Google Antigravity 18, OpenCode 16, Cursor 15, Devin 7, Factory 2, Conductor 1, Warp 1 | With no strong direction, the agent produces the same stock look: cards everywhere, gradients, glows, big border radii, default icons, a recycled colour palette, filler subheadings and bland copy, all of it the same across unrelated projects; layouts that are actually broken or that ignore given mockups belong to other modes. |
| Imprecise layout and spacing fixes | 60 | 62 | OpenAI Codex 31, Claude Code 14, Cursor 11, Google Antigravity 2, Devin 1, Pi 1 | The agent can't land small, concrete fixes to layout or spacing (alignment, margins, centring, carets, consistent rhythm, responsive breakpoints): it stacks overrides, edits the wrong component or wrapper, or regresses after being told the exact fix; whole-page aesthetic quality is out. |
| Poor animation, motion and graphics generation | 50 | 52 | OpenAI Codex 21, Claude Code 20, Google Antigravity 5, Cursor 3, OpenCode 1 | The agent mishandles animations, scroll-driven effects, transitions, SVG drawings, icons, canvas, 3D or video visuals, producing clumsy timing, crude shapes or effects that don't work; static layout and styling problems are out. |
| Ignoring provided mockups and reference designs | 49 | 50 | OpenAI Codex 32, Claude Code 11, Google Antigravity 4, Cursor 1, Factory 1 | The user supplies screenshots, Figma, HTML or image mockups or a design file, and the agent's output still drifts from them or ignores them; failures that happen when no reference was given are out. |
| New UI elements clash with existing design | 23 | 24 | OpenAI Codex 11, Claude Code 9, Amp 1, Google Antigravity 1, GitHub Copilot 1 | When adding to or editing an existing interface, the agent invents new styles, components, colours or headings instead of reusing the neighbouring patterns and theme, or it changes unrelated styling at random; first-time greenfield design is out. |
| Broken rendered UI declared done | 18 | 19 | Claude Code 7, OpenAI Codex 7, OpenCode 4 | The agent reports UI work as finished, or as passing tests, while the running interface visibly has overlaps, overflowing elements, double scrollbars, unreadable theme modes or other breakage it never checked visually; complaints about taste alone, where nothing is broken, are out. |
| Fails on non-web or uncommon UI targets | 16 | 16 | OpenAI Codex 9, Claude Code 5, Google Antigravity 1, Cursor 1 | The agent's UI quality falls apart on targets other than standard web pages, such as terminal UIs, native mobile and desktop apps, or framework-specific front ends, even when given examples; weak web UI quality is out. |
| Other | 169 | 176 | OpenAI Codex 105, Claude Code 40, Google Antigravity 10, OpenCode 7, Cursor 5, Factory 1, Zed 1 | Complaints that fit none of the modes above. |

#### Generic templated visual style by default

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-18, r/codex (Reddit): “all are crap - when you work with them day by day on ui - you notice a lot of "ai taste" everywhere - opus, sol, astra - they suck imo” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x8o0ig/how_is_sol_61_xhigh_doing_for_coding/phhjbfs/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-17, r/codex (Reddit): “i would use 6.1 on fast if it made good ui/visual stuff without loads of prompting” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x8a90j/are_you_still_using_astra_and_if_so_why/phav4n3/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-17, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs also tip: when you have claude lay images like this out, it looks like claude laid it out, which is a look everyone is getting increasingly sick of. like you can at least tell not to do some of the stuff it always does” [source](https://twitter.com/16142493/status/2111490934420693129)

#### Imprecise layout and spacing fixes

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-13, r/codex (Reddit): “yeah for sure its going to get a polish pass, that's a one-shot with two steers. another thing codex specifically likes doing is not taking full width but starting arbitrary new rows and leaving a big gap on the right.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x4ntah/most_ridiculous_thing/pgfvtlh/)
- Cursor, 2026-10-03, r/cursor (Reddit): “i got tired of explaining tiny ui fixes to cursor/claude, so i built this” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wwbveb/i_got_tired_of_explaining_tiny_ui_fixes_to/)
- Devin, 2026-09-23, @DevinAI (X): “@princeradebe @devinai i've been battling the icon to just scale properly 🤦♂️” [source](https://twitter.com/1593138580288856064/status/2102731017832612199)

#### Poor animation, motion and graphics generation

- Claude Code, 2026-10-18, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “obvisouly claude is awesome. but one thing i noticed is: it sucks at anything not minecraft like. any good paid sprites assets or way to get it cheaply ?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x8xdf9/best_way_to_find_game_assets/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-12, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “i've been making videos with both openai codex and claude opus 5.5 — everything rendered in frontend code. my honest take after testing them on the same scenes: codex's gpt isn't close to opus for this.” [source](https://twitter.com/2052445258684977152/status/2109562382926205196)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-09, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “ok nice. i’m building a different widget, basically to control volume etc, wanted a brass knob for it and wow claude is bad at it, really bad” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x0a0jf/fable_51_is_still_better_at_some_tasks_than_opus/pesylex/)

#### Ignoring provided mockups and reference designs

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-06, r/codex (Reddit): “give it a sample picture. a reference. otherwise yes. openai frontend is a disaster. need to babysit a lot to get everything right. its always been like that.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wyxzrm/gpts_frontend_design_pissed_me_off/pe6r495/)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-29, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): ““we basically have agi” meanwhile opus 5.5 can’t even replicate computed css from a figma to tailwind without making half dozen mistakes” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wsuiwx/opus_55_is_the_beginning_of_a_new_era/pctn56h/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “i used codex. but it was really bad at ui until i gave it a mockup to replicate. i used chatgpt image gen to create the mockup, which i edited in krita for the final mockup my app is based on. it’s gtk4, not web, windows, or mac.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqqh6l/do_you_use_codex_for_app_ui/pc7l1no/)

#### New UI elements clash with existing design

- Claude Code, 2026-09-25, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i did. but i also made sure claude follows them. i didn't invent new design features. i noticed that claude does all it can to move towards slop. i bound it so it can't do that” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wq71zm/claude_sucks_at_web_site_design_i_forced_it_to_be/pc1ztd7/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-17, r/codex (Reddit): “i had it edit a project it’s been working on forever, simple new screen look nothing like the rest of the app, was like it closed it eyes and tried lol” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1windb3/astra_has_been_nerfed/pabtw8s/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-09, r/codex (Reddit): “haha yeah ui was the biggest problem. i was migrating modules from vb6 to laravel, i asked sol to create the plan, luna max to implement, and the ui was not good - even though there were other similar modules it could pretty much copy, still did something worse” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wbgv34/fine_i_just_got_20x_plan_tibo_you_win_i_guess/p8s7tm2/)

#### Broken rendered UI declared done

- OpenCode, 2026-10-03, r/opencode (Reddit): “that explains why the ui i wanted it to build is just a broken mess.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1ww5o7y/animated_horse_space_bunny/pdnh3dk/)
- OpenCode, 2026-09-26, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “yes it is but when he write interface i often see some errors like on the screenshot of the post” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wqa72d/space_bunny_often_use_foreign_languages_in_the/pc4w6l9/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-12, r/codex (Reddit): “a week ago i have made a ui prototype with astra. today i asked to implement that ui. a fucking disaster. what tf they have done? it's frustrating” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1we551s/this_nerf_is_getting_out_of_hand_look_at_this/p9bh9l4/)

#### Fails on non-web or uncommon UI targets

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-11, r/codex (Reddit): “not a claude fan, but for me claude is the clear winner here, way better gameplay amazing aesthetics. also, wtf codex left the button buttons on the screen during the gameplay, making it seem you're still in a menu” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wd032x/same_prompt_codex_astra_6_vs_claude_fable_51_a/p928v5d/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-01, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “hello everyone i have been developing web games with claude, while human review always is a must, i feel claude is lacking in real user pov testing, it does screenshot and review it, but always see it in narrow view. i tried bunch of skills and prompts but it is still lacking, is there a skill or rlow that u tested helped with this? i want it to simulate user journey from the user pov in terms of ui and ux , and imrpove on it.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wv0qk0/claude_skill_for_real_user_pov_testing_ux_ui/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-01, r/codex (Reddit): “i know this is mega niche but maplestory has a service called maplestory worlds where it lets you use all their assets to create a game like roblox almost and they added support for llms so i am using codex to help me create a game in there! so far so good, onlything is it is terrible at ui work.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w4jr2f/show_rcodex_what_youve_been_building_with_codex/p78kaks/)

#### Other

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-17, r/codex (Reddit): “i would agree if 5.6 had better vision/able to create visual things on the level of astra” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x89ggo/the_models_are_too_good/phatowu/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-16, r/codex (Reddit): “astra sucks at ui and by extension anything that deals with planning workflows/ui/ux.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x7uasl/what_are_your_astra_use_cases/ph7ejr2/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-16, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i have used sonnet 5.5 to implement a theme plan for my linux desktop and execute on it. caveat - it has no taste, no proper judgement - that is 50$ in api spend wasted on sonnet, and i never used that shit again” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x7a5v9/opus_55_med_or_sonnet_55_high_implementer_part_2/ph2k7sz/)

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 98 user-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by a large language model reads every counted post and extracts what the user asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. A large language model groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes, and a second pass merges themes that ask for the same change under different criteria; a merged theme sits under the criterion most of its requests map to, and code counts it once. A theme counts distinct user-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 user-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different users, without slurs: whole posts of 60 to 450 characters with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, posts of at most 280 characters first, then the newest.

### 1. Better overall UI and frontend design quality

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-14, @antigravity (X): “@_philschmid bring more efficient ui and ux skill and bring argon for pro users also in @antigravity” [source](https://twitter.com/2074178648257724416/status/2110435119316255143)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-09, r/codex (Reddit): “the unlimited dot chat was the final pin that kept me from switching back to anthropic. i've already converted my $100/mo sub to a $20/mo one and will go primarily anthropic come november. unless openai can fix how bad astra and sol is with front-end ui.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wzadqg/looks_like_we_will_actually_be_losing_the/pey8om2/)

### 2. Dedicated design product or design model

- Cursor, 2026-10-18, @cursor_ai (X): “@spacexai: @bot / @grok / @cursor_ai - i’ve an idea: could you ship a design alternative on the same level as claude design? that will shock the si space in my opinion!” [source](https://twitter.com/1579852785063002112/status/2111755585037463872)
- OpenCode, 2026-10-13, @opencode (X): “@opendesignhq @opencode can you match this? otherwise i'm switching to opendesign” [source](https://twitter.com/1536797762326614017/status/2109942543513255944)

### 3. Visual self-QA and layout verification

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-09, @antigravity (X): “@googledevs @antigravity @stitchbygoogle the design-to-emulator loop is interesting. can the validation also cover large font sizes, talkback navigation and small screens? those checks would make generated ui much more useful beyond the happy-path demo.” [source](https://twitter.com/1943310817526464512/status/2108540818025808222)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-03, r/codex (Reddit): “all this is nice but i will be happy if it will be able to align 2 buttons in my app without 6 prompts.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1w6h382/the_gpt6_astra_launch_video_before_the_site_was/p7mz4dy/)

### 4. Less generic, AI-looking UI output

- Claude Code, 2026-10-12, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “dont just do a hero + button. come up with an actual unique design.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x3go5l/any_tips_on_making_a_uiux_frontend_not_look_like/pgdogbq/)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-06, @antigravity (X): “@adhidesign @googledeepmind @antigravity whenever i create a website with it , even when i tell it the exact font to use , to keep the website looking more natural , it somehow ends up using a style that gives away how it was made” [source](https://twitter.com/1530991409624338432/status/2107560737942241543)
- Cursor, 2026-10-02, r/cursor (Reddit): “cursor kept giving me generic ai-looking ui, so i built a chrome extension that pulls the real design system from any website into a design.md [removed]” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1wvsrot/cursor_kept_giving_me_generic_ailooking_ui_so_i/)

### 5. Built-in visual design canvas and editor

- Cursor, 2026-10-17, @cursor_ai (X): “wish cursor had a claude design-style canvas built in. explore design systems & styles freely, save versions like figma files, then commit the chosen direction into real code. explore → save → ship. @cursor_ai @ryolu_ @leerob @jbfja @shaoruu @therohanvarma” [source](https://twitter.com/2054964520569675777/status/2111451255109247035)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-08, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@dimillian hey @dimillian are you planning of building some sort of “claude design” integrated in the chatgpt/codex app? for me a true bundled design iteration workhorse is all that is missing from codex. i had to build it myself with skills and in-app browser but it is tedious…” [source](https://twitter.com/79582254/status/2108154374220337366)
- Cursor, 2026-10-01, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai could you please work on creating a vde? visual development environment. i’d love to be able to better see what my projects look like and edit them that way. would love to be able to drag and drop things rather than having to annotate multiple times.” [source](https://twitter.com/902940943631908864/status/2105708285206712687)

### 6. Consistent styling with chosen design systems

- Claude Code, 2026-10-11, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “hopefully someone will make it happen that it can support custom layout and design with css. oh wait :d nice work!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x34qj4/claude_code_now_shows_images_and_videos_in_the/pf9fehc/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-10, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “tie the ui style to a specific ui library. also specify the style you want and have it follow that. "remove current style" begs the question "to what?".” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x2cu2y/can_someone_help_me_get_rid_of_these_vibecoded/pf2smky/)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-06, @antigravity (X): “@antigravity material design 3 expressive skill when??? it's a serious struggle to get gemini to follow these design principles. nearly impossible without spending all my usage on it” [source](https://twitter.com/1592549190470598657/status/2107594666791067664)

### 7. Better SVG, 3D and graphics generation

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-01, @antigravity (X): “before and after @antigravity and @openai need to work on their 3js [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/91931146/status/2105803206668546234)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-08, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs it would be great if claude’s image interpretation and its ability to generate 2d, ui, and 3d models improve. coding is fine, but this kind of ability is way too low compared to gpt-6” [source](https://twitter.com/3033331083/status/2097144872516153425)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-02, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “that and every ui design is going to look like a website as it stands right now. tried so hard to get a "game ui" with fable and it just shits the bed (obviously thats somewhat to be expected because it can't really create what is required for such a thing).” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1w4qziv/ok_this_is_wild_used_claude_fable_51_and_said/p7ewgsl/)

### 8. Built-in animation creation for websites

- Claude Code, 2026-10-14, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “yeah i'd like to take the animation project out of claude design. i just find the ui really fiddly, and if i already have all my assets it a project repo then i have to drag everything out of there to use in claude design, and then bring the output back into my project. it's much nicer to keep everything in a single place so i can just iterate there without going from the local cli, into the browser, then back to the cli, etc” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x61mtp/best_ways_to_create_animations_and_promotional/pgri9nw/)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-14, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “how do you create animations like these? i always have to wrestle with claude to add polished animations to my websites, and the results are usually pretty bad—as if it’s trying to work around its inability to create them properly. are you using claude itself, an external animation generator, or a library?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wg0zp4/super_simple_ui_design_prompts_yielded_amazing/p9rjt4f/)

### 9. Deeper Figma and design tool integration

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-08, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “i want to ask antigravity to use figma as a design tool. i try to do it but the result is awful. maybe i need to make some configuration first??” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wyibld/i_want_to_connect_figma_with_antigravity/pembv6i/)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-06, @antigravity (X): “@adhidesign @googledeepmind @antigravity one feature i’d love to see is deeper design integration, similar to claude’s approach. bringing design exploration and iteration closer to the development workflow could make antigravity significantly stronger from a ux perspective.” [source](https://twitter.com/619659305/status/2107465611613966480)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-09-27, @antigravity (X): “@ash_twtz yes, i would love to see more support for media/design/etc in @antigravity, support and tooling for design.md, etc.” [source](https://twitter.com/2056251/status/2104150215003361657)

## Posts

Receipts rule: Up to 5 praise and 5 complaint posts per area and 3 per criterion. Each is a whole post of 60 to 450 characters (700 for areas) with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, that judges the criterion, whose labels are all praise or all complaint, and that contains no slur. Posts that touch the fewest criteria come first, then posts of at most 280 characters, then the newest. A second large language model reads the first 3 candidates per slot and keeps a post only if it clearly praises, or clearly complains about, the agent on that criterion. Links and personal details removed by the source show as marks such as [link].

- Praise, 2026-10-17, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@giadotai codex already solved this issue. it’s even better than claude. the tricky is asking fist in the codex app to design the image of the ui, with ur whatever taste.. and then ask to codex implement using the image. it has a high accuracy and now it looks great” [source](https://twitter.com/1419310387036626950/status/2111275392258449459)

### Factory

- Praise, 2026-10-04, @droid (X): “@totallynotparth @droid all of the other models keep messing up the ui of the website and desktop app. fable seems to get it right much more consistently. it's unfortunate cuz i quote like openai models.” [source](https://twitter.com/2070908287978246144/status/2106863174553317875)

### Zed

- Praise, 2026-09-02, @zeddotdev (X): “@olvrgln @zeddotdev to your point, have found low, fast models in chat beside code to be very good for “nip & tuck” ui work — speed is essential, ask for no tests or dom checks, just fastest code” [source](https://twitter.com/20835267/status/2095017565215166492)
- Praise, 2026-09-16, @zeddotdev (X): “@taniyatweets_ zed it's just unrealistic fast for ui/ux @zeddotdev they just built different” [source](https://twitter.com/2242568539/status/2100104182619631865)

### Pi

- Praise, 2026-09-01, @pidotdev (X): “you don't need expensive models like fable or gpt-5.6 sol to turn any ui design image into a highly complex, pixel-perfect ui. i can get this done using just gpt-5.6 luna. i'm using pi @pidotdev + the pixel perfect skill. start with image gpt → pi harness + pixel perfect skill. turns out, the model isn't always the limitation. the right harness + skill can make a huge difference 👌” [source](https://twitter.com/2083448877928312832/status/2094695540978331748)
