# Paying and limits (`paying`)

Feedback Bench, coding agents, built 2026-10-19, window 2026-08-31 to 2026-10-18. Web page: https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/#/criterion/paying

Area of 11 criteria. What do you pay, and how far does it get you?

Criteria: [How much use a plan's price buys](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.plan_value.md), [Short rolling usage window blocks or interrupts work](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.window_interrupts_work.md), [Single prompt, model or effort level consumes disproportionate quota](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.burn_rate.md), [Price, allowance or plan terms changed](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.allowance_change.md), [Quota reset timing and bonus or banked resets](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.reset_schedule.md), [Usage meter visibility and accuracy](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.usage_meter.md), [Prompt cache hits, misses and invalidation](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.prompt_cache.md), [Pay-as-you-go overage, fallback billing and spend caps](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/billing.overage_charges.md), [Pricing and plan terms stated clearly and consistently](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/billing.pricing_clarity.md), [Free tier and free model availability and limits](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/billing.free_tier.md), [Using an existing subscription across tools](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/billing.subscription_portability.md)

Rated user-weeks, all agents: 35210. Complaint share: 75%.

## The brief

Written by large language models from this page's numbers and the posts it quotes, then checked: every number in the text is in the build. Interpretation, not measurement.

OpenCode leads on pricing and limits, but the lead does not hold across the area. It ranks high on plan value, the free tier, stable plan terms and using a subscription in other tools. It ranks low on how long the quota lasts and on cutoffs mid-task. Claude Code ranks high on most criteria, including quota resets and the usage meter, but sits 7th of 13 overall. It ranks low on the free tier. OpenAI Codex ranks last. Its users rate the area 1.75 times as often as other users, and they write 47% of the category's complaints here.

## How it breaks

Rule: A separate pass sorts complaints into failure modes. For each criterion with at least 30 complaining user-weeks, a large language model reads 150 complaint posts drawn at random and names 4 to 8 failure modes; a second large language model then puts every complaint post on that criterion in one mode, or in Other when it fits none. Modes are fixed once named, and new posts are sorted into them each week. A mode counts distinct user-weeks with a complaint in it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Modes do not change the labels or the Feedback Score. Examples: up to 3 posts per mode from different users, chosen and checked as receipts are.

The largest failure modes concern limits and value. Users say their allowance runs out days before the reset, in 2,606 user-weeks. They also say plans give worse value per dollar than competitors, and that flagship models use up a plan within minutes. OpenAI Codex users write the largest share of each of these, from 46% to 58%. Claude Code users come next.

### [How much use a plan's price buys](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.plan_value.md)

8744 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Allowance runs out days before reset | 2606 | 2812 | OpenAI Codex 1199, Claude Code 857, Cursor 226, Google Antigravity 131, OpenCode 82, Devin 50, Factory 23, GitHub Copilot 17, Amp 10, Cline 4, Kiro 4, Conductor 1, Grok Build 1, Zed 1 | The user's normal workload uses up the weekly, monthly or 5-hour allowance well before the period resets, leaving them locked out or waiting; this covers paid tiers including top plans, but not cases where the user says they used it unusually hard or the bundled allowance from a partner plan was smaller than expected. |
| Worse value per dollar than competitors | 2392 | 2687 | OpenAI Codex 1216, Claude Code 443, Cursor 285, OpenCode 156, Google Antigravity 115, GitHub Copilot 92, Devin 33, Factory 13, Kiro 13, Cline 7, Amp 6, Zed 4, Augment Code 2, Conductor 2, Grok Build 2, Pi 2, Warp 1 | Users compare the usage they get per dollar against other agents, plans or the raw API and conclude a rival gives more, then downgrade, cancel or switch; complaints about absolute cap size with no comparison are out. |
| Premium models drain allowance disproportionately | 971 | 1035 | OpenAI Codex 533, Claude Code 219, Google Antigravity 81, Cursor 72, OpenCode 24, Devin 16, GitHub Copilot 9, Kiro 5, Amp 4, Pi 3, Cline 2, Factory 1, Warp 1, Zed 1 | The newest or most capable models, or modes like fast or max, use up the plan so quickly that they can't realistically be used as daily drivers on the plan the user pays for, which pushes users to weaker models; general caps that don't depend on the model are out. |

### [Short rolling usage window blocks or interrupts work](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.window_interrupts_work.md)

3050 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Window drained in minutes, then hours of waiting | 1129 | 1202 | OpenAI Codex 562, Claude Code 378, Google Antigravity 84, OpenCode 51, Devin 21, Cursor 14, Cline 9, Factory 3, GitHub Copilot 2, Pi 2, Warp 2, Kiro 1 | The short rolling window runs out within minutes or a few prompts of starting a session, so the user is locked out for hours; complaints that only cite token cost, without the forced wait, are out. |
| Weekly allowance stranded by short window cap | 434 | 469 | OpenAI Codex 250, Claude Code 143, Google Antigravity 16, OpenCode 13, Cursor 5, Devin 3, Factory 2, Cline 1, GitHub Copilot 1 | Users who work in bursts can't use their weekly quota or banked resets because the short window caps how much they can use per session, so the allowance expires unused; complaints about the weekly cap running out are out. |
| Single task cannot fit in one window | 285 | 304 | OpenAI Codex 172, Claude Code 87, Google Antigravity 15, OpenCode 7, Cursor 3, GitHub Copilot 1 | One planned task or follow-up needs more than one short window to finish, so it gets spread across several reset cycles or is never completed; general complaints about slow progress with no mention of the window are out. |

### [Single prompt, model or effort level consumes disproportionate quota](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.burn_rate.md)

11194 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flagship model exhausts plan within minutes | 1956 | 2111 | OpenAI Codex 1128, Claude Code 395, Google Antigravity 194, Cursor 90, OpenCode 72, Devin 38, GitHub Copilot 18, Amp 5, Pi 5, Factory 3, Kiro 3, Cline 2, Warp 2, Augment Code 1 | The post names a specific premium or frontier model and says it uses up a 5-hour, weekly or monthly allowance in minutes or hours of normal use, often on a lower-tier plan; comparisons between versions and failed or looping runs are out. |
| Same workload suddenly drains faster than before | 1804 | 2038 | OpenAI Codex 1042, Claude Code 546, Cursor 94, Google Antigravity 86, OpenCode 23, Kiro 6, GitHub Copilot 2, Devin 2, Pi 2, Cline 1 | Users with an unchanged workflow and model report that usage now runs out several times faster than in previous days or weeks, often blaming a bug or a quiet recalibration; cases that name a model upgrade as the cause are out. |
| New model version burns more than predecessor | 1696 | 1927 | OpenAI Codex 965, Claude Code 440, Google Antigravity 121, Cursor 82, OpenCode 38, GitHub Copilot 18, Kiro 13, Devin 7, Pi 6, Factory 2, Amp 1, Augment Code 1, Cline 1, Conductor 1 | The post says a newer model or version (e.g. a .1 point release or a new flagship) uses noticeably more quota than the earlier version did for similar work; general slowdowns over time with no version change named are out. |

### [Price, allowance or plan terms changed](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.allowance_change.md)

3199 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silent quota reduction without announcement | 1176 | 1327 | OpenAI Codex 680, Claude Code 308, Cursor 85, Google Antigravity 54, OpenCode 29, GitHub Copilot 7, Devin 6, Kiro 4, Amp 1, Cline 1, Warp 1 | Users find that the same workload now uses up their plan's allowance much faster, or that documented credit pools have shrunk, and the vendor gave no notice; this covers unannounced cuts to the size of the allowance, not announced restructures, changes to how limit windows work, or slowdowns caused only by a model's own token use. |
| Announced tier downgrade or plan removal | 673 | 774 | OpenAI Codex 524, Claude Code 58, Cursor 54, OpenCode 18, Google Antigravity 6, GitHub Copilot 6, Warp 3, Amp 2, Augment Code 1, Kiro 1 | The vendor openly cuts what a paid tier includes (for example 20x becoming 10x), pauses or removes a tier, or brings in a pricier tier that is needed to keep the old allowance; this covers announced changes to tier structure and price, not silent cuts or changes to access to particular models. |
| Generous launch or promo limits withdrawn | 353 | 375 | OpenAI Codex 146, Claude Code 70, OpenCode 53, Cursor 33, Google Antigravity 26, Devin 16, GitHub Copilot 4, Cline 2, Augment Code 1, Warp 1, Zed 1 | Limits that were generous at a model's launch, during a promotion, or in a product's early days are cut back once users rely on them, which users see as bait-and-switch; this covers promos ending and post-launch tightening, not cuts with no promotional backstory. |

### [Quota reset timing and bonus or banked resets](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.reset_schedule.md)

4369 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unpredictable reset timing and type | 766 | 816 | OpenAI Codex 585, Claude Code 123, Cursor 21, Google Antigravity 16, OpenCode 13, Cline 4, Devin 2, Factory 1, Pi 1 | Resets come without advance notice, are announced only on social media, or it is unclear whether a reset is instant or banked, so users can't plan when to spend or save quota; a specific reset that never arrived is out of scope. |
| Promised reset missing or late on accounts | 761 | 843 | OpenAI Codex 597, Claude Code 128, Cursor 10, Google Antigravity 9, OpenCode 9, GitHub Copilot 3, Amp 2, Devin 1, Kiro 1, Pi 1 | A reset that was announced or promised arrives hours late, never shows up, or reaches only some accounts, regions, or plans, leaving users waiting at 0%; resets that arrive but get revoked or expire belong to the banked-reset mode. |
| Bonus reset wipes saved allowance and runway | 709 | 844 | OpenAI Codex 613, Claude Code 76, Google Antigravity 12, Cursor 6, GitHub Copilot 1, OpenCode 1 | A forced or bonus reset replaces the user's remaining allowance with 100% and restarts the 7-day timer, pushing the next scheduled reset back, so careful pacers lose quota; resets that only land badly close to the normal date are covered separately. |

### [Usage meter visibility and accuracy](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.usage_meter.md)

2057 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meter swings or reverses without matching usage | 607 | 688 | OpenAI Codex 488, Claude Code 91, OpenCode 14, Cursor 11, Amp 1, Google Antigravity 1, GitHub Copilot 1 | The displayed usage or remaining percentage jumps sharply, drops in one step, refills on its own, or bounces back and forth (for example 75% to 4%, or 7% to 57% and back to 6%), and the swing does not match the work the user actually did; slow draining while nothing is running is out. |
| No per-session, per-model, or token breakdown | 395 | 423 | Claude Code 125, OpenAI Codex 105, OpenCode 68, Cursor 44, Google Antigravity 25, GitHub Copilot 11, Devin 7, Factory 4, Amp 3, Pi 3 | The product shows only one combined percentage or pool and hides the detail needed to see what used the quota, such as per-session, per-task, per-model or per-agent usage, input, output and cached token counts, context window size and contents, history over time, or how tokens convert into quota percentage; a total that is visible but inaccurate is out. |
| Meter contradicts enforcement or other usage sources | 362 | 389 | OpenAI Codex 176, Claude Code 88, OpenCode 45, Cursor 18, Google Antigravity 13, Devin 8, Amp 6, GitHub Copilot 3, Cline 1, Factory 1, Pi 1, Warp 1, Zed 1 | The displayed figure disagrees with what actually happens or with another record: the meter shows quota left but the user is blocked, it shows 100% but work goes on, the CLI, dashboard and provider token or cost counts differ, totals are calculated wrong, promised credits never show up, or a stale account's quota is shown; charges booked to the wrong pool are out. |

### [Prompt cache hits, misses and invalidation](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.prompt_cache.md)

595 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cache expires during idle gaps or long tool runs | 115 | 129 | Claude Code 77, OpenAI Codex 27, OpenCode 6, Pi 3, Amp 1, Cursor 1 | The cached prefix goes cold because the user steps away, a test suite or long tool call runs past the TTL, or a subagent waits too long, so the next turn re-writes the whole context at full price; this excludes expiry caused by limit resets or session restarts. |
| Harness breaks prefix stability every turn | 100 | 102 | Claude Code 30, OpenAI Codex 30, OpenCode 27, Pi 4, Cline 2, GitHub Copilot 2, Cursor 2, Google Antigravity 1, Warp 1, Zed 1 | The agent harness or SDK rebuilds the prompt prefix in a way that breaks caching (reordered context, timestamps or IDs in the system prompt, added skills/MCP tools, compaction, missing cache_control on BYOK or third-party models), so cache hit rates stay low even in continuous use; this excludes model or provider routing issues. |
| Opaque or punitive cache read/write pricing | 93 | 101 | Claude Code 40, OpenAI Codex 33, OpenCode 10, Cursor 5, Google Antigravity 2, Pi 2, GitHub Copilot 1 | Cache writes or reads are priced or counted against subscription limits in ways that are undisclosed, recently made more expensive, or silently changed (such as TTL dropping when extra usage kicks in), and per-request cache hit/miss data is not shown; this excludes misses from specific technical causes. |

### [Pay-as-you-go overage, fallback billing and spend caps](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/billing.overage_charges.md)

541 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Overage credits burn implausibly fast | 165 | 172 | OpenAI Codex 62, Claude Code 57, Cursor 33, OpenCode 5, Devin 3, GitHub Copilot 2, Google Antigravity 1, Cline 1, Pi 1 | Top-ups or on-demand spend at API rates run out within minutes or a few prompts, so overage is much more expensive than the plan for the same work; it does not cover charges caused by misrouting or ignored caps. |
| Paid pool drained while included allowance remains | 73 | 77 | Cursor 24, Claude Code 22, OpenAI Codex 16, OpenCode 5, Devin 3, GitHub Copilot 2, Factory 1 | Usage is billed to credits, API balance or on-demand while the user still has subscription quota (wrong routing, credits used before the plan, cloud agents or linked accounts billed separately); it does not cover correct billing after the included allowance is genuinely used up. |
| Overage or auto-reload enabled without consent | 57 | 62 | Cursor 28, Claude Code 11, OpenAI Codex 9, OpenCode 3, Amp 2, Devin 2, Kiro 1, Pi 1 | Metered on-demand billing, credit auto-purchase or post-cancellation extra-usage charges started by default or without the user knowingly opting in; it does not cover cases where the user enabled overage on purpose and then disputes the amount. |

### [Pricing and plan terms stated clearly and consistently](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/billing.pricing_clarity.md)

1007 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Usage limits unquantified or falsely called unlimited | 185 | 190 | OpenAI Codex 73, OpenCode 35, Claude Code 28, Cursor 19, Devin 13, Google Antigravity 8, Cline 4, GitHub Copilot 2, Augment Code 1, Factory 1, Kiro 1 | Pricing pages and docs describe allowances as "more usage", "unlimited" or "free" without publishing any numbers, so users only find the caps when they hit rate limits or quota errors; disclosed limits that users merely think are too low are out. |
| Unclear which models and pools a plan covers | 179 | 193 | Cursor 60, OpenAI Codex 32, Claude Code 29, OpenCode 29, Google Antigravity 14, Devin 8, GitHub Copilot 3, Factory 2, Cline 1, Grok Build 1 | Plan text does not make clear which models, products or usage pools are included, whether bundled or stacked subscriptions add up, or whether a "separate" limit really draws from the shared weekly quota; unclear prices for a single item are out. |
| Advertised model price misstates plan consumption | 136 | 143 | OpenAI Codex 54, Claude Code 29, Cursor 20, OpenCode 20, Devin 4, Kiro 4, Google Antigravity 3, Cline 1, Warp 1 | A model is marketed as cheaper, or given a credit multiplier, based on API token prices, but on subscriptions it uses up allowance faster or costs more per task, or speed modes and options like zero data retention quietly raise the cost; complaints about model quality alone are out. |

### [Free tier and free model availability and limits](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/billing.free_tier.md)

555 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free quota exhausted almost immediately | 145 | 158 | OpenCode 69, Cline 30, Claude Code 10, OpenAI Codex 10, Devin 10, Cursor 8, Google Antigravity 6, Kiro 2 | A free tier or model advertised as free (or unlimited) runs out after a few prompts, minutes or a single task, or hits 429s and long cooldowns very quickly. Free offers that are removed outright, and paid-plan limits, are out. |
| Free model or tier withdrawn without notice | 109 | 118 | OpenCode 48, OpenAI Codex 18, Devin 15, Google Antigravity 8, Claude Code 7, Cline 6, Cursor 3, Amp 2, Zed 2 | A free tier, free model, stealth-model free window or free inference that users relied on is removed, shortened or quietly turned into a paid option, often with little warning. Quotas that still exist but are small are out. |
| Promo credits or trial offers not received | 63 | 64 | Claude Code 26, Google Antigravity 11, OpenAI Codex 7, Devin 6, OpenCode 4, Cursor 3, Cline 2, Factory 2, Kiro 1, Warp 1 | Advertised credits, trials, referral bonuses or promo plans never appear, can't be claimed, disappear before users can redeem them, or are left out of a bundled plan as promised. Offers that were received and then ran out are out. |

### [Using an existing subscription across tools](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/billing.subscription_portability.md)

514 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Subscription restricted to vendor's own client | 123 | 125 | Claude Code 46, Google Antigravity 26, OpenAI Codex 14, OpenCode 12, Pi 11, Amp 7, Cursor 5, Devin 1, Factory 1 | The vendor's terms or enforcement allow a paid plan only in its own app or CLI, and using it in third-party harnesses is forbidden or risks an account ban; this excludes harnesses that simply haven't built support yet. |
| Third-party harness lacks subscription sign-in support | 74 | 78 | Amp 21, Cursor 9, Claude Code 8, Pi 8, Factory 7, OpenAI Codex 6, Zed 4, Google Antigravity 3, Devin 3, OpenCode 3, GitHub Copilot 2 | An agent or IDE offers no way to link a subscription the user already pays for (for example, an editor that won't accept an OpenAI or Claude plan), even when the vendor doesn't forbid it; this excludes vendor-imposed bans. |
| Sister products with separate, non-unified plans | 59 | 63 | Cursor 40, OpenAI Codex 7, Google Antigravity 6, Claude Code 2, OpenCode 2, Amp 1, Factory 1 | Products owned by the same company or linked together (such as an IDE and a chatbot after a merger, or a chat app and a coding agent) need separate subscriptions or accounts, with usage, credits, or upgrades that can't be shared or merged; this excludes plans from unrelated vendors. |

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 9038 user-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by a large language model reads every counted post and extracts what the user asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. A large language model groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes, and a second pass merges themes that ask for the same change under different criteria; a merged theme sits under the criterion most of its requests map to, and code counts it once. A theme counts distinct user-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 user-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different users, without slurs: whole posts of 60 to 450 characters with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, posts of at most 280 characters first, then the newest.

## Posts

Receipts rule: Up to 5 praise and 5 complaint posts per area and 3 per criterion. Each is a whole post of 60 to 450 characters (700 for areas) with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, that judges the criterion, whose labels are all praise or all complaint, and that contains no slur. Posts that touch the fewest criteria come first, then posts of at most 280 characters, then the newest. A second large language model reads the first 3 candidates per slot and keeps a post only if it clearly praises, or clearly complains about, the agent on that criterion. Links and personal details removed by the source show as marks such as [link].

### OpenCode

- Praise, 2026-10-18, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “most commercial plans for big enterprises are like 120 dollars and those are subsidised and usually like 600 dollars of credits a week. in a day with a dollar of credits? absolutely. opencode go is great, i’d recommend it. it’s 80 dollars of deepseek credits” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1x8osv2/a_beginner_could_use_some_help/phenc1z/)
- Praise, 2026-10-18, r/opencode (Reddit): “yup $20 claude for me and $10 opencode go and student cursor basically let's me go without any limits. opus 5.5 as orchestrator with composer 2.5 or deepseek v4 subagents” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x8j55b/opencode_is_insane/phfi2vh/)
- Praise, 2026-10-18, r/opencode (Reddit): “i have opencode go, let me know if i missed any free models to test. these tier 2 ones (as i've dubbed them) feel practically unlimited. i cannot find its limits” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x93sf9/get_more_usage_out_of_free_models/phhx12p/)
- Praise, 2026-10-18, r/opencode (Reddit): “hi, how is it even possible that i've been coding with opencode for 3 weeks for free without any restrictions. am i the only one that has this privilege or what is the policy behind offering free models without restrictions?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x9bzrj/how_is_it_even_possible_that_ive_been_coding_for/)
- Praise, 2026-10-18, @opencode (X): “@yanki3l i know it has nothing to do with your question, but @opencode has quite a few good models in the free tier, including deepseek v4.1 that you can integrate into your ade.” [source](https://twitter.com/809638980744454144/status/2111880217518354439)

- Complaint, 2026-10-18, r/opencode (Reddit): “i rate limited glm like in half an hour when they added it and went back to mimo when it cleared up, today i made the mistake to fuck around and find out and switched mimo to deepseek and rate limited myself. when it clears ill switch to mimo and stay there i guess” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x8optc/they_might_have_broke_their_software_while_panic/phenr8h/)

### Pi

- Praise, 2026-10-13, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “thanks! frankly i just wanted something for work that isn’t claude code since we’re constrained on api usage at the moment. this as well as just normal base pi are ~2x cheaper on costs per task generally compared to claude code.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1x547li/dev_workflow_beyond_traditional_harnesses/pgk5wxf/)
- Praise, 2026-10-08, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “10x sounds crazy but it actually is that good, not to mention the usage. i can run one opus medium session through the entire 5 hr limit without it stopping.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1x11zga/100_to_spend_codex_or_claude/pept7tv/)

### Warp

### Conductor

- Praise, 2026-10-17, r/cursor (Reddit): “i have really enjoyed cursor as an ide and a harness for the past 3 years. but as they move more towards being a model provider and less of an agnostic harness, i am looking for other options. composer was a great model, grok 4.5 was great for its time, but their models no longer compete with openai or claude and if third party model usage is not part of the subscription, i don’t see what the selling point is. i have been testing out conductor with a codex subscription and i’m getting most of what i liked about cursor at a lower price point.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1x7iwof/weekone_cursor_user_here_did_the_new_tiers_make/ph822kw/)
- Praise, 2026-09-20, @conductor_build (X): “rudí - use a decent ade like @conductor_build and set a skill that instructs the claude agent to use the conductor cli to setup workers after it has planned your task. the workers can then be grok 4.6 from cursor on a $60 monthly plan. the claude agent is responsible for planning, checking diffs, tests and spinning up independent frontier model code reviews. all findings should be routed back to the workers and the expensive claude agent is nothing more than a planner/orchestrator. same quality output at half the costs.” [source](https://twitter.com/1733536900047130625/status/2101567880093487412)
- Praise, 2026-09-08, @conductor_build (X): “@connortbot @tryreplicas @conductor_build i think the biggest bummer is that other apps can be used for free to just orchestrate local agents, whereas i'll need to pay for replicas and the developer plan is quite steep already. for example, conductor is free to run local workspaces etc.” [source](https://twitter.com/2843813092/status/2097345802993611082)

### Grok Build

- Praise, 2026-09-05, r/vibecoding (Reddit): “grok build is great workhorse. with supergrok heavy it is really hard go over the limits. i was lucky enough to have cursor ultra which has great grok limits also and you can use anthropic models for harder/ui tasks. if i would not have the deal, then i would take cursor ultra or $100 subs from anthropic, codex and grok.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/vibecoding/comments/1w74l2u/is_everyone_here_on_claude_or_codex_only_anyone/p7x0u38/)
