# Short rolling usage window blocks or interrupts work (`limits.window_interrupts_work`)

Feedback Bench, coding agents, built 2026-10-19, window 2026-08-31 to 2026-10-18. Web page: https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/#/criterion/limits.window_interrupts_work

Area: [Paying and limits](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/paying.md)

**Definition.** The short rolling usage window (a cap of a few hours) blocks the user mid-task or mid-session: forced waits, killed sessions, or a long allowance left unused because the short window ran out. The post is about the window itself, not about what consumed it.

**Boundary.** Not this: see [Single prompt, model or effort level consumes disproportionate quota](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.burn_rate.md) when the point is that one prompt, model or effort level used a large share. Not this: see [How much use a plan's price buys](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/limits.plan_value.md) for the weekly or monthly total.

Rated user-weeks, all agents: 3494. Complaint share: 86%.

## The brief

Written by large language models from this page's numbers and the posts it quotes, then checked: every number in the text is in the build. Interpretation, not measurement.

Claude Code and Cursor rank high at letting users finish work without a cutoff. Cursor users say it has no short usage window at all, and some Claude Code users running several sessions at once say they never reach theirs. This is the 9th most rated of 63 criteria, and 86.5% of rated user-weeks complain. OpenAI Codex, 4th of 6, draws 50% of the category's complaints here. OpenCode and Google Antigravity rank low. Their users say the window runs out within minutes.

### What separates the best from the rest

Cursor users say there is no short window to hit, because the allowance is monthly. Claude Code users who praise it say they run several sessions in parallel all day and still stay under the cap. OpenCode and Google Antigravity users say the window is gone after a few minutes or a single prompt, and then they wait hours. Antigravity users say this happens on the Pro and Ultra plans too.

  - Claude Code, 2026-10-08, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i don’t understand… i tune 3 sessions in parallel all day long with opus 5.5 at max and i have yet to hit the 5h limit once with the 20x max subscription” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x0rsy3/claude_might_have_reduced_usage_again/penr4xb/)

  - OpenCode, 2026-10-15, r/opencode (Reddit): “it is pretty much unusable, less than a 30 mins session and getting rate limited already after just one prompt (agentic coding task) is a joke.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x6se5m/deepseek_41_free/pgy70bg/)

## How it breaks

Rule: A separate pass sorts complaints into failure modes. For each criterion with at least 30 complaining user-weeks, a large language model reads 150 complaint posts drawn at random and names 4 to 8 failure modes; a second large language model then puts every complaint post on that criterion in one mode, or in Other when it fits none. Modes are fixed once named, and new posts are sorted into them each week. A mode counts distinct user-weeks with a complaint in it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Modes do not change the labels or the Feedback Score. Examples: up to 3 posts per mode from different users, chosen and checked as receipts are.

The largest failure mode is a window that drains within minutes and then locks the user out for hours. It makes up 37% of complaining user-weeks. OpenAI Codex has the largest share of every mode, and Claude Code is second in each. Codex holds 60% of complaints about tasks too large for one window and 58% of complaints about weekly allowance that expires unused.

3050 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Window drained in minutes, then hours of waiting | 1129 | 1202 | OpenAI Codex 562, Claude Code 378, Google Antigravity 84, OpenCode 51, Devin 21, Cursor 14, Cline 9, Factory 3, GitHub Copilot 2, Pi 2, Warp 2, Kiro 1 | The short rolling window runs out within minutes or a few prompts of starting a session, so the user is locked out for hours; complaints that only cite token cost, without the forced wait, are out. |
| Weekly allowance stranded by short window cap | 434 | 469 | OpenAI Codex 250, Claude Code 143, Google Antigravity 16, OpenCode 13, Cursor 5, Devin 3, Factory 2, Cline 1, GitHub Copilot 1 | Users who work in bursts can't use their weekly quota or banked resets because the short window caps how much they can use per session, so the allowance expires unused; complaints about the weekly cap running out are out. |
| Single task cannot fit in one window | 285 | 304 | OpenAI Codex 172, Claude Code 87, Google Antigravity 15, OpenCode 7, Cursor 3, GitHub Copilot 1 | One planned task or follow-up needs more than one short window to finish, so it gets spread across several reset cycles or is never completed; general complaints about slow progress with no mention of the window are out. |
| Running task cut off when window expires | 270 | 284 | OpenAI Codex 134, Claude Code 100, Google Antigravity 12, OpenCode 11, Cursor 7, Devin 5, Cline 1 | A prompt, job, or subagent already running is stopped mid-execution when the short window hits zero, and work or progress is lost or left half-done; blocks that only happen before a new prompt starts are out. |
| Reset window consumed immediately on reopening | 158 | 165 | OpenAI Codex 75, Claude Code 68, OpenCode 5, Google Antigravity 4, Cursor 2, Devin 2, Amp 1, Pi 1 | As soon as the short window resets, resumed sessions, cache rewrites, or auto-restarts use it up at once, so the reset gives no usable time; drains that happen gradually during normal work are out. |
| Forced account or tool hopping to dodge window | 134 | 140 | OpenAI Codex 67, Claude Code 49, OpenCode 6, Amp 4, Cursor 4, Google Antigravity 2, GitHub Copilot 1, Factory 1 | Users keep several subscriptions, accounts, or providers and switch between them mid-session only to keep working past the short window, which breaks continuity and adds overhead; switching for model quality or price reasons is out. |
| Unattended jobs stall until window resets | 69 | 71 | OpenAI Codex 29, Claude Code 27, Devin 5, OpenCode 3, Amp 2, Google Antigravity 2, Cursor 1 | Overnight loops, crons, or background agents hit the short window and sit idle or fail to resume until someone restarts them, including cases where one model's use of a shared window blocks other automated processes; interactive sessions the user is watching are out. |
| Other | 732 | 780 | OpenAI Codex 365, Claude Code 217, OpenCode 60, Google Antigravity 32, Cursor 18, Devin 15, Factory 13, Cline 6, GitHub Copilot 4, Kiro 1, Pi 1 | Complaints that fit none of the modes above. |

#### Single task cannot fit in one window

- Claude Code, 2026-10-09, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “unfortunately this is not the case when running multible tasks, the 5 hour window has had me waiting more than running out of weekly usage.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x1xiqu/16_hours_until_my_renewal_can_the_20x_plan_handle/pexqbjj/)

#### Running task cut off when window expires

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “nobody wants 5h limits, you get in the zone and then you get hit with “limits exceeded”” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3nzj3/we_all_are_tibo/pfcs0vn/)

#### Reset window consumed immediately on reopening

- Claude Code, 2026-10-17, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@im_irushik i'm having a big atm where i'm not able to use claude at all, after every 5h reset it resets then within minutes goes back up to 100% usage, i have no clue what's going on and it's quite saddening honestly as i just paid for claude the other day @claudeai @claudedevs” [source](https://twitter.com/2096146575080734722/status/2111527864915099861)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-06, r/codex (Reddit): “the reason why i hated claude was that chat would begin my 5 hour window and forced me to work on claude code immediately or think in advance when to stat working. chatgpt had a clear advantage here. what feedback? who said this is best? lol” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wxx7y5/chat_and_work_will_be_merged/pe9utpt/)

#### Forced account or tool hopping to dodge window

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-18, r/codex (Reddit): “makes no sense you will always be limited by the 5 hour limits. plus 5 accounts is such a hassle” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x950co/how_much_usage_can_i_expect_on_the_100_plan/phiamq2/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “i voted same limit no 5-hour usage. fuck that five hour limit. i refuse double usage for a lock. i already hate the fact anthropic does it. plus it's just another excuse to use your bank to reset on the 5-hour instead of the weekly.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf8fmxb/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-02, r/codex (Reddit): “yep this is the very reason i just can't make proper use of my resets at all. with the 5-hour window your usage is so limited in time, you'd have to stay up day and night running codex to even come close to "continuous" usage. not possible” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wvjdhh/incoming_reset_sol_61_seems_much_faster_now/pdei4iy/)

#### Unattended jobs stall until window resets

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “yes, but that’s a lot harder to manage when you have to restart a dead process every 5 hours.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3e18e/they_could_let_each_user_choose_5_hour_limits/pfbootk/)

#### Other

- Claude Code, 2026-10-18, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i have both. both are kinda crap because of the 5 hour limit. without that, both would be more useful.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x8wcgu/claude_pro_vs_chatgpt_plus_codex_which_is_better/phgcd6k/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-15, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “it's a significant difference, i'm hitting 5hr limits when i never even got close to 50% in the past” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x6j064/did_opus_55_just_get_more_expensive/pgvsqam/)

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 711 user-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by a large language model reads every counted post and extracts what the user asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. A large language model groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes, and a second pass merges themes that ask for the same change under different criteria; a merged theme sits under the criterion most of its requests map to, and code counts it once. A theme counts distinct user-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 user-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different users, without slurs: whole posts of 60 to 450 characters with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, posts of at most 280 characters first, then the newest.

### 1. Remove the 5-hour usage window

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-16, r/codex (Reddit): “resets would be more useful without the 5 hour limit on the $20 plan.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x7ls35/the_reset_economy_then_and_now/ph6u7ag/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-13, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@trq212 @claudedevs isn't it possible to make the 5h limits go away like codex? sometimes i work a lot in 5h and reaches the limits but most of time i stay within the limits. it would be nice so i can stay on the flow and finish the tasks instead of wait for the reset.” [source](https://twitter.com/991182752/status/2110082702171115933)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “someone who has a 8 to 5 work and commutes while consuming an additional 1hr would benefit in a no 5hr limit. not everyone is a fulltime developer on their own projects.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3nzj3/we_all_are_tibo/pfekp12/)

### 2. Auto-resume after usage limit reset

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-17, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@openaidevs would be cool to have codex app anticipate you running out of credits and writing some kind of pause log of where it left off, and the ability to enable automatic restart” [source](https://twitter.com/2724600660/status/2111326501778149514)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-14, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “hey @thsottiaux, we'd love auto-resume after rate limits in codex cli, just like claude code! when the 5-hour limit hits, codex should wait until the reset and pick up where it left off. a game-changer for autonomous workflows! 🚀” [source](https://twitter.com/1085263049353805826/status/2110425543082647813)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “i mean i will accept 5000$/month more of api cost equivalence at the price of paying a 17$/month anthropic subscription to orchestrate openclaw or equivalent to just resume my processes every 5 hours or so........” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf71p6j/)

### 3. Longer rolling usage window duration

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “yes, because with a 5h limit i won't be able to use my weekly usage. i have to plan my day around when the limits reset and do a little bit of work every day. i like to do 2-3 days of heavy work and then i do very little or nothing on other days.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf7bzy7/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-08, r/codex (Reddit): “haha i don't think so man.... i've been using codex for over a year now and i'm good. the 5 hour coming back sucks balls but that's my only complaint.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x0dngq/does_anyone_in_this_subreddit_do_anything_besides/pemtfsf/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-06, r/codex (Reddit): “hurts to say it but yeah i would take it too lol, really wish they did something about the 5h limit” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wyw8uz/5/pe6cav2/)

### 4. Higher usage allowance within the 5-hour window

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-14, @antigravity (X): “@shimritby @google @geminiapp @antigravity please fix the 5-hour limit, it’s the worst i’ve ever seen, you hit it like in three prompts. the weekly limit isn’t that good either… the ai pro plan is unusable atm” [source](https://twitter.com/1679706801447620614/status/2110340681638056108)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-13, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “x5 higher 5hr limits ... way higher fable $100 monthly api credit to use outside of claude harness oh... and you don't need to manage 5 accs” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x59gae/claude_max_5x_vs_5_claude_pro_accounts/pgkt7ah/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-12, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs today the 5-hour sessions on the team premium plan seem unusable. i can barely use opus for some tasks. i'm very grateful you're not limiting us weekly. an increase in the 5-hour session would be really satisfying. thanks!” [source](https://twitter.com/1983613227314638853/status/2109692204113666537)

### 5. Let tasks finish past usage limit

- Cursor, 2026-10-16, @cursor_ai (X): “i don't see the point in paying for @cursor_ai when one simple request consumes the entire monthly limit. this was the only request this month to third-party models. just 500k context and the limit is zero. @cursor_ai, make it a habit to see things through to the end [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/1690461920/status/2111060456303636794)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “especially indeed. the 5hour limit would be a whole lot more tolerable if it worked the way it used to where the task could at least finish first. (assuming weekly quota still existed) the hard cutoff now makes any 5 hour limit truly difficult” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf7cgmf/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-07, r/codex (Reddit): “fuck your t3 theo attention whore product. lets not forget the c*, and his fellow t3 c*\*\*\*, is the one who engineered the taking away codex continuation in turn (after limits were hit), all because the are greedy attention seekers” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wzid9b/the_tibo_28_day_challenge_is_not_really_anything/pedmnd5/)

### 6. Stop short window interrupting mid-task work

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “i would truly prefer halved limits but i’m still able to actually use what i get them all at once over a game of trying to figure out when i can and can’t do anything” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf7boa5/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-07, r/opencode (Reddit): “ok thats a yikes cuz i don't get to have too many coding sessions a day, i was on codex recently and most of my weekly quota was wasted. i code in bursts and this 5h window is seriously screwing with me :(” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1wzl9e8/opencode_codex_or_claude_code/pef97f7/)

### 7. Slower drain of the 5-hour allowance

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “when i sit down, focus on work, and need it when it’s available, i don’t want to see a 5 hour usage limit that drains faster and i don’t want to wait to do work i could’ve finish at the time i had the ability. simple as that.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3l0jv/unless_youre_regularly_consuming_more_than_30_of/pfc838t/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-01, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i feel that too, i am on the max plan and with jcode i used to only hit session limits once in a day but now i would hit them 3 times a day at times. so something is definitely going on” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wv2uto/did_limits_get_slashed_quietly/pd88ugs/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-18, r/codex (Reddit): “i have open ai plus plan! codex became soooo greedy in the last few weeks! after almost 20 minutes of work (within the 5 hours usage limit) the usage limit notification pops up and ask you to buy either credits or upgrade to pro! awful services! shame on you!” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wfyw1r/usage_limits_are_absolutely_terrible_100_plan/pahpkhl/)

### 8. Keep or restore 5-hour window

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-16, @antigravity (X): “@silverlegendyt1 @antigravity @silverlegendyt1 i'm building mark, and a rolling 5-hour window would make a big difference for heavy users. if you need something free in the meantime, [link] has no signup and answers with diagrams and quizzes instead of paragraphs.” [source](https://twitter.com/1223994877110702086/status/2110992817979789383)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-16, @antigravity (X): “@antigravity ultra has 5 hours limit / weekly for argon? why pro users have only weekly usage for argon? i just burned through 80% in less than 50 minutes... and now i won't be able to use it for a week, lol.” [source](https://twitter.com/1585034568054317056/status/2110897823185064110)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-13, r/codex (Reddit): “with astra being expensive and sol 6.1 generally perform worse than opus 5.5. bringing back 5 hours limit will definitely move a lot of people back to claude.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x467hb/it_took_two_weeks_for_them_to_go_back_on_their/pgghexb/)

### 9. Remove all usage limits

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “get rid of the 5hr limit and weekly limit. let users be able to keep going on their projects for the full month. maybe after 5 hrs of steady use, bump users down who are using fast mode during peak usage?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3nzj3/we_all_are_tibo/pfe4om6/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-12, @ClaudeDevs (X): “aye y'all should give me unlimited credits again. @anthropicai @claudeai @claudedevs” [source](https://twitter.com/2104184871866249216/status/2109653101007249697)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-25, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs why not limit us at all ? it’s like limiting your children’s to time .” [source](https://twitter.com/1756587489173630976/status/2103562040061370770)

### 10. Use full weekly allowance on own schedule

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “the 5 hour limit is a pain in the ass if you burn it in no time because you need the higher intelligence. so prefer no 5 hour limit and let me continue my work until all weekly is consumed.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf7nnh8/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “not everyone has time to be infront of their computer the whole day to maximise the limit. some of us have short more intense sprints and would like the flexibility.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf73e7c/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “given the choice of double usage or be able to use my whole usage on my own schedule. i'd pick the second one any time because i've got real work to do and need to do them when i want to do them. if i want more usage, i pay for more usage.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf6zvfi/)

### 11. Higher concurrent session limits

- Claude Code, 2026-10-11, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs lets not be petty lets allow 5 000 agents to be launched in parallel right away” [source](https://twitter.com/1654325456559124483/status/2109195658989334606)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-09, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i didn’t know there was a max agent limit to configure. i see it peaks at 12 and waits for slot before dispatching more. codex peaks at 1/2 that max.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x1esxn/attention_heavy_ai_users/peujp7e/)
- Devin, 2026-10-07, @DevinAI (X): “@devinai @devindevelopers i'm currently using swe-2, which means i can only have 5 sessions in parallel. so another orchestrator is waiting until the other sessions finish to create another one. if i didn't have any limits, it would be 20 sessions at the same time.” [source](https://twitter.com/2020417140688400384/status/2107811339788018060)

### 12. Throttle or slow mode instead of hard stop

- Claude Code, 2026-10-16, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@cjav_dev @claudedevs i also really enjoyed "low priority" mode when running out of usage, how come that went away?” [source](https://twitter.com/220612421/status/2111048157983375444)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-08, r/opencode (Reddit): “well the thing i dont like is if i use up all my subscription for codex it locks me out at a ui level from using codex, that's a non-negotiable ux mistake for me. so i'm trying to switch harnesses and have all this baggage to migrate” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x0e8np/how_to_fully_migrate_from_codex_to_opencode/pek6ned/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-04, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudeai @openai @claudedevs @openaidevs @bcherny @thsottiaux let’s see who does this first. once the usage limits hit, you should allow the coders to continue to use the frontier models at much lower token speed. people will even take cheaper models at lower token speed.” [source](https://twitter.com/434679902/status/2106768026972615021)

## Posts

Receipts rule: Up to 5 praise and 5 complaint posts per area and 3 per criterion. Each is a whole post of 60 to 450 characters (700 for areas) with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, that judges the criterion, whose labels are all praise or all complaint, and that contains no slur. Posts that touch the fewest criteria come first, then posts of at most 280 characters, then the newest. A second large language model reads the first 3 candidates per slot and keeps a post only if it clearly praises, or clearly complains about, the agent on that criterion. Links and personal details removed by the source show as marks such as [link].

### Claude Code

- Praise, 2026-10-11, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i have x3 20$ claude, this allows me to work 24/7 everyday, until you hit week limits.... the 5 hour windows cycle nicely. i have x1 100$ codex for 3d work, blender ect, opus for code, astra/sol for 3d and busy work” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x25yfw/second_claude_pro_subscription_or_chatgpt_plus/pfadony/)
- Praise, 2026-10-11, r/OpenAI (Reddit): “stupid people, even with 5 hour quotas, you can get 2x more work done in the same week with the first option. why wouldnt you choose that? ive been using claude code on and off since february and i never hit my 5 hour limit except for the first time i used it.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenAI/comments/1x3d4z1/thank_god/pfbqh5r/)
- Praise, 2026-10-08, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i don’t understand… i tune 3 sessions in parallel all day long with opus 5.5 at max and i have yet to hit the 5h limit once with the 20x max subscription” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x0rsy3/claude_might_have_reduced_usage_again/penr4xb/)

### Devin

- Praise, 2026-10-15, @cognition (X): “yeah, it's an amazing workhorse imo. i have things set up so that i use opus 5.5 (medium) goat currently as the orchestrator/main - and then it defines the tasks and offloads all of the hard work to swe-2 max via llm-run ( wrapper i wrote ) so the main advantages are: - it's free - no 5h limits - reliable for long tasks under supervision so, i don't know it's thinking or 'character', but i found it to be really, really reliable in my setup” [source](https://twitter.com/423774207/status/2110630999063195994)

### OpenAI Codex

- Praise, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “right, i'd much rather not have a session limit. i prefer being able to work when it fits my schedule rather than adjusting my schedule around session limits. it's actually the most (only?) substantial advantage for the codex subscription right now.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x4afnb/quota_doubling_poll_should_be_run_in_codex/pfiabry/)
- Praise, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “eh. even when i had my plus sub i didn’t usually burn through my 5h, nor when the pro had a 5h. i would prefer it. i also think it would help with some of the really dumb usage i’ve seen where people burn a ton of quota on trivial things.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x303a0/what_are_they_planning_for_us/pf6wlz8/)

### OpenCode

### Google Antigravity

### Kiro
