# Output degrades as the context window fills (`context.long_context_decay`)

Feedback Bench, coding agents, built 2026-10-19, window 2026-08-31 to 2026-10-18. Web page: https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/#/criterion/context.long_context_decay

Area: [Instructing and context](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/context.md)

**Definition.** The agent forgets details, rules or its own statements as the session grows long.

**Boundary.** Not this: see [Context compaction keeps what matters, cheaply and quickly](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/context.compaction.md) for losses caused by summarisation. Not this: see [Memory and state carried across sessions](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/context.session_memory.md) for loss across separate sessions.

Rated user-weeks, all agents: 1024. Complaint share: 83%.

## The brief

Written by large language models from this page's numbers and the posts it quotes, then checked: every number in the text is in the build. Interpretation, not measurement.

OpenAI Codex leads, but its score stays within the range of the category norm, so no agent clearly stays sharp as sessions grow long. Users of every ranked agent say output gets worse as the context fills. The criterion is the 36th most rated of 63, and 83.4% of rated user-weeks complain. Google Antigravity comes last among the ranked agents and is the only one worse than the norm. Claude Code users rate this 3.1 times as often as other users and write 44% of the category's complaints.

### What separates the best from the rest

No agent ranks high and none ranks low. OpenAI Codex leads, yet it gets 54 praise to 222 complaints. Its users report the same drop in quality past a context threshold as users of other agents. The main difference is how often the problem comes up. Claude Code users raise it 3.1 times as often as other users. They write the largest share of complaints about the agent losing track of its own plan, dropping rules it had followed and mixing old material into the current task.

- **Ranks high**: no agent
- **Ranks low**: no agent

## How it breaks

Rule: A separate pass sorts complaints into failure modes. For each criterion with at least 30 complaining user-weeks, a large language model reads 150 complaint posts drawn at random and names 4 to 8 failure modes; a second large language model then puts every complaint post on that criterion in one mode, or in Other when it fits none. Modes are fixed once named, and new posts are sorted into them each week. A mode counts distinct user-weeks with a complaint in it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Modes do not change the labels or the Feedback Score. Examples: up to 3 posts per mode from different users, chosen and checked as receipts are.

The largest mode is a drop in quality once the context passes a threshold: the agent gets lazier and sloppier and hallucinates more. It accounts for 36% of complaining user-weeks. Next is the agent forgetting its progress and plan, at 20%. Claude Code users write about half of most modes, and 62% of complaints about compaction summaries losing context. Among named modes, slowdowns and errors in long sessions are the most evenly spread; OpenCode users write 23% of them.

859 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reasoning quality drops past a context threshold | 313 | 324 | Claude Code 152, OpenAI Codex 84, OpenCode 30, Google Antigravity 25, Cursor 10, Pi 4, Amp 2, GitHub Copilot 2, Cline 1, Devin 1, Factory 1, Kiro 1 | Once context fills past some point (users often cite 100k–400k tokens or about half the window), the agent gets noticeably less capable overall: lazier, sloppier, more hallucinations, flailing on simple tasks, or getting stuck in test/fail loops, even with no single identifiable forgotten fact; this excludes poor quality that also shows up in fresh short sessions. |
| Agent forgets its own progress and plan | 174 | 176 | Claude Code 78, OpenAI Codex 57, Google Antigravity 18, OpenCode 10, Cursor 6, Devin 2, Amp 1, GitHub Copilot 1, Pi 1 | Deep into a long session the agent loses track of work it has already done, plans or specs it wrote itself, or tools it has already used, so it repeats steps, causes regressions, drifts from the spec or denies it can do things; this excludes forgetting user-given rules and forgetting between separate sessions. |
| Long sessions slow, error out or loop | 119 | 122 | Claude Code 36, OpenAI Codex 33, OpenCode 27, Google Antigravity 11, Pi 6, Cursor 3, Devin 1, Factory 1, Warp 1 | As context grows very large the agent or its interface slows to a crawl, hits request failures or context-overflow errors that throw away the work, or starts glitching and repeating its output; this excludes slowness or errors that also happen in short sessions and complaints that are only about the advertised window size. |
| User rules and constraints fade mid-session | 70 | 74 | Claude Code 36, OpenAI Codex 15, Google Antigravity 11, Cursor 2, OpenCode 2, Pi 2, Amp 1, Cline 1 | The agent follows instructions, rules files, style guides, glossaries or hard constraints (e.g. 'don't touch tests') early in a session but stops following them as the conversation grows, even when told to re-read them; this excludes rules that were never followed from the start and anything lost only at a compaction step. |
| Compaction summaries discard critical context | 52 | 53 | Claude Code 32, OpenAI Codex 15, Cursor 2, OpenCode 2, Zed 1 | When the session is automatically or manually compacted or summarized, important details, decisions or plans are lost, and the agent behaves as if 'lobotomized' or gets worse with each compaction; this excludes decay that happens before any compaction. |
| Stale or foreign context mistaken as current | 47 | 49 | Claude Code 26, OpenCode 7, OpenAI Codex 6, Google Antigravity 3, Cursor 3, Amp 1, Pi 1 | In a large context the agent mixes up old or irrelevant material with the live task, for example treating grepped tool output as user instructions, blending separate project branches, replying to an earlier message, or writing about an unrelated project; this excludes plain omission of details, where nothing wrong is put in their place. |
| Other | 109 | 110 | Claude Code 30, OpenCode 23, OpenAI Codex 22, Google Antigravity 16, Cursor 7, Pi 4, GitHub Copilot 2, Devin 2, Amp 1, Kiro 1, Zed 1 | Complaints that fit none of the modes above. |

#### Reasoning quality drops past a context threshold

- OpenCode, 2026-10-13, r/opencode (Reddit): “after 300-400k tokens imho. if you go past that, it starts loosing context and derail its reasoning.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x4pf51/im_new_on_using_opencode_so_what_is_the_best_free/pgfsge6/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-12, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “holy shit same thing, i noticed it starting to degrade and at first i thought maybe the context has grown but it was just at near 200k.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x470at/theory_on_opus_55_language_degradation/pfi9wrx/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-12, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “using 1m but relaying (compacting+starting a new session) around 200-300k because that’s when [orientation becomes cheaper than continuing]( [link]) and because the model gets groggy after around 300k.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x40hlw/hows_1m_context_window_now/pffovn7/)

#### Agent forgets its own progress and plan

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-18, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “it contradicts itself and loses the plot on long context tasks. i really do not see any reason to use this model, specially now that deepseek v4.1 flash 1017 is available.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1x8x6nn/dont_worry_too_much_argon_its_genuinely_not_that/phgirsx/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-11, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “fable 5.1 is back and seriously it has been a hot mess. losing the thread left and right, basically forgets everything i've asked it to do. [link]” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x3i7ai/has_anyone_figured_out_how_to_get_fable_55_back/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-08, r/codex (Reddit): “interesting. i've always assumeed luna fast is always cheaper in terms of cost per tasks. btw i only use it for bounded and rather medium tasks. in unknown tasks with pretty large scope, luna tends for forgot/igore context.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x00ct5/plus_sub/pejohr9/)

#### Long sessions slow, error out or loop

- Claude Code, 2026-10-09, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs four-minute walkthrough is optimistic when the context window starts thrashing on a large repo.” [source](https://twitter.com/350714759/status/2108624783172919483)

#### User rules and constraints fade mid-session

- Claude Code, 2026-10-18, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “it’s funny u got downvoted for sumn that happened to me as well. the settings don’t work if your claude had context rot since it’s just an instruction in the system prompt not a deterministic hook. i’ve had it attribute itself even with the setting off at ~700k context.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x8vtr8/hey_claude_its_about_time_you_stop/phhqj13/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-16, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “better up to a certain extent, but not the best solution still. it still forgets a lot of things no matter what you say for say 600k-800k tokens chat.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x7pa1q/anyone_feel_issues_after_compact/ph696bv/)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-13, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “trashgravity.. flash is so trash i have to remind it the whole context of novel every 2-3 prompts.. like da fq. even chat gpt free is better at this point..” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1x51wf0/google_is_so_obsessed_with_benchmaxxing_that/pginbky/)

#### Compaction summaries discard critical context

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-06, r/codex (Reddit): “do you really think frequent (as i said, 15 min) compaction better quality wise? before that i had model completely lose the plot what we were doing from the start.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wyocbj/context_limit_at_258k_tokens/pe939zd/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-04, r/codex (Reddit): “i usually do no use ultra. the issue is that the tasks were kind of long and on medium that would cause context rot after 5th or 6th compaction” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wxbpfq/left_sol_61_ultra_overnight_with_4_long_but_easy/pdsagug/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-26, r/codex (Reddit): “oh nice now it completely lost the convo im done. i just canceled this bullshit. [link]” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wqat13/openai_is_becoming_incompetent/pc2tg7v/)

#### Stale or foreign context mistaken as current

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-10, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “if you mean in the same conversation sometimes it does that bs, i ask it a continuation question and suddenly answers like that question was the first message it is fixed with a retry but annoying asf” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1x23pck/38_does_not_remember_own_previous_prompt_that/peznj7g/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-03, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs a plugin that surfaces what the model buried is weirdly useful. most of my agent failures are things it said once in turn 3 and never repeated.” [source](https://twitter.com/275153641/status/2106401591985086598)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-01, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “exactly. i had an ongoing project and it just suddenly stopped referencing or looking up anything and went "remind me what you want to talk about again?"” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wurd3e/mmmkay_i_didnt_believe_others_at_first_but/pd86fh5/)

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 90 user-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by a large language model reads every counted post and extracts what the user asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. A large language model groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes, and a second pass merges themes that ask for the same change under different criteria; a merged theme sits under the criterion most of its requests map to, and code counts it once. A theme counts distinct user-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 user-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different users, without slurs: whole posts of 60 to 450 characters with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, posts of at most 280 characters first, then the newest.

### 1. Larger context window

- Cursor, 2026-10-16, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai @leerob any chance to set 500k default context in grok 4.7 model on cursor with no 2x pricing? 🙏” [source](https://twitter.com/1524828212081074176/status/2111209647122305390)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “whaaa. i didn't know that lol. thanks a lot. i would like to bump astra to a higher context.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3n28b/day_7_tibo/pfdp41w/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-12, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@thsottiaux tibo, did you overlook the codex cli users? i carefully checked the model cache, and the context size is still 272k.” [source](https://twitter.com/1911983254632292352/status/2109668509303373936)

### 2. Instructions persist through long sessions

- Cursor, 2026-10-03, @cursor_ai (X): “@openai: we need a way to create plan documents as first-class citizens in codex. context rot erodes our ability to effectively build and maintain a long-term plan over a long session. that's something you could learn from the folks at @cursor_ai.” [source](https://twitter.com/15487120/status/2106490818295152642)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-03, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs the useful version flags the constraint claude dropped three turns ago in a tool log, not a restatement of the last paragraph.” [source](https://twitter.com/1667827210328363008/status/2106193213912739948)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-02, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “it is happening constantly on ide 2.5.5, you can continue the chat but it lost context and has to figure out everything again.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wvrcb2/have_we_all_just_accepted_antigravitys_server/pdfbklf/)

### 3. 1M token context window option

- Claude Code, 2026-10-18, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs what about real 1m contexts and your timeouts on your own tools within a chat session ?” [source](https://twitter.com/1413849052123369472/status/2111919005749399679)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-12, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i need the 1m i hated the 200k on codex. how is 200k enough for you? i have that full in 20 minutes” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x40hlw/hows_1m_context_window_now/pffna96/)
- Cursor, 2026-10-09, r/cursor (Reddit): “indeed, auto era is coming back it seems.. the last holding grudge is it not being 1m token.. for the rest of it, i love it, thanks for being back to your prime” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1x1p1j9/auto_is_starting_to_be_on_my_rooster/)

### 4. Fix slowdowns in long sessions

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-10, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@thsottiaux please fix the codex app on windows. when i leave it open for more than 2 days my computer starts lagging/suttering. this doesn't happen when i use claude code.” [source](https://twitter.com/1674776000712802305/status/2108782725553344826)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-03, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “i tried launching codex from dots and doing things like the claude code project and the cursor project, but for some reason, the codex app keeps getting heavier infinitely. i think i'm escaping quite a bit to codex cloud, but why...” [source](https://twitter.com/1815685304759828480/status/2106199100660334689)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-21, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@moiiikaaa the codex app gets sluggish over time, badly needs optimization for long running sessions” [source](https://twitter.com/307782904/status/2102065527531454733)

### 5. Better output quality at long context

- Claude Code, 2026-10-11, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “whole lotta cope from you and many others in this thread. to ask for more is only natural for this technology. to get up-to-250k performance up to a million tokens (with a 2 million token context window) would be a true game-changer.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x2vb0y/2_million_context_window/pf5y377/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-03, r/codex (Reddit): “if the context is under 100k, it works tolerably well. above that, it’s a nightmare.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wwsu14/61sol_is_recordbreakingly_slow_today/pdndfs3/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-22, r/codex (Reddit): “[link] [link] okay, i understand it's cheaper now. but i was expecting more, at least the long-term context issue (the new upgrade helps astra-6 retain 96.3% of its 500k-1m context) doesn't seem to be applied to sol/luna-6.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wnhmfd/basically_its_just_cheaper_solluna6_even_has/)

### 6. Automatic context management near limits

- Claude Code, 2026-10-03, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “but at some point that main session will also fill up, then what? we need a proper solution to this. i’m guessing a future built-in /goal will do this automatically.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wwynj8/has_anyone_managed_to_set_up_an_auto_clear/pdpd8ea/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-23, r/codex (Reddit): “better context management, long running tasks, and speed of execution.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wnsg05/give_luna_6_a_shot/pbkqbrx/)

### 7. Effective context matching advertised size

- OpenCode, 2026-10-07, r/opencode (Reddit): “100k context window is 80k-90k effective. basically claude code need to be rewritten for smol agents” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x03mvq/anthropic_just_introduced_claude_haiku_55/peinmce/)

### 8. Preserve task state across interruptions

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-09, r/codex (Reddit): “it does, so does claude and every other model. its thoughts just get erased, lost like 30 minutes worth of thinking by just saying "how's the progress" with esc” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x1063x/probably_no_reset_on_day_4/pewp4d5/)
- Devin, 2026-09-10, @cognition (X): “@cognition the landline framing is fun, but the real product test is whether voice keeps the agent’s task state intact across interruptions. if it can resume cleanly after a vague “actually, change that,” that’s a serious ux win.” [source](https://twitter.com/2010090909644230656/status/2098181518652830066)

## Posts

Receipts rule: Up to 5 praise and 5 complaint posts per area and 3 per criterion. Each is a whole post of 60 to 450 characters (700 for areas) with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, that judges the criterion, whose labels are all praise or all complaint, and that contains no slur. Posts that touch the fewest criteria come first, then posts of at most 280 characters, then the newest. A second large language model reads the first 3 candidates per slot and keeps a post only if it clearly praises, or clearly complains about, the agent on that criterion. Links and personal details removed by the source show as marks such as [link].

### OpenAI Codex

- Praise, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “that must have been a long time ago or you use low reasoning effort. the 5.5 models can go very close to 1m without much degradation, at least at high and xhigh.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3n28b/day_7_tibo/pfe2peh/)
- Praise, 2026-10-10, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i come from codex, my threads are specific features and some threads have over 2b tokens used in one thread - this workflow suits me best and never failed me in codex” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x1poui/anyone_else_not_using_fable_at_all_recently/pf142g4/)
- Praise, 2026-10-02, r/codex (Reddit): “i work in the same thread for a month then make a fresh one. better work with the right context, no problems with rotation. overall better than constantly changing them or working in one.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wvpdye/are_you_still_creating_fresh_sessions_or_work_in/pddoyu8/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-11, r/codex (Reddit): “i still set my auto compact to 400k, since degrading performance is apparent after it (tends to rabbit hole too much if given too much context).” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wyjx8u/openai_offers_5x_less_value_than_anthropic_at/pf68za8/)

### Cursor

- Praise, 2026-09-11, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai projects this direction is quite practical, especially being able to manage long tasks and context separately, finally not having to find progress again every time i open cursor.” [source](https://twitter.com/2030175862553989126/status/2098254460242022808)
- Complaint, 2026-10-01, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai cursorbench 4.0 context window handling for open-weight models is still rough on large codebases.” [source](https://twitter.com/350714759/status/2105800182923485396)
- Complaint, 2026-09-06, @cursor_ai (X): “hey @cursor_ai @elonmusk, when are you going to fix this cursor hallucination? facing this very frequently due to short context-window limit and long prompting and heavier tasks. ### Claude Code

- Praise, 2026-10-14, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs splitting sessions side by side finally prevents context drift when handling backend fixes and ui tweaks at the same time.” [source](https://twitter.com/2096179578213740544/status/2110475861896179755)
- Praise, 2026-10-12, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “never had a problem taking it all the way to 1m. i still read a lot of people saying greater than x makes the model dumb, but with the latest models i don't see it” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x40hlw/hows_1m_context_window_now/pfglxsm/)
- Praise, 2026-10-07, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “what the hell are people doing to get hallucinations after 125k context tokens ? my sessions are mostly a single conversation regularly 500-800k tokens and i get no hallucinations.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wzydw1/tokens_are_not_draining_as_fast/peg18vf/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-18, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “it’s funny u got downvoted for sumn that happened to me as well. the settings don’t work if your claude had context rot since it’s just an instruction in the system prompt not a deterministic hook. i’ve had it attribute itself even with the setting off at ~700k context.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x8vtr8/hey_claude_its_about_time_you_stop/phhqj13/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-16, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “yeah with long chats another issue is lost context of the very initial messages.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x7pa1q/anyone_feel_issues_after_compact/ph67y32/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-16, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “better up to a certain extent, but not the best solution still. it still forgets a lot of things no matter what you say for say 600k-800k tokens chat.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x7pa1q/anyone_feel_issues_after_compact/ph696bv/)

### OpenCode

- Praise, 2026-10-17, @opencode (X): “if you're using @opencode, try deepseek-v4.1-flash. it's capped at 200k context, but in my experience, it performs better than 1m context models. sometimes, a smaller context window keeps the model in its smart zone. i've tested it myself. not just benchmarks, real usage.” [source](https://twitter.com/1982427257387061249/status/2111342742551069024)
- Praise, 2026-09-22, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “i haven't had this issue. i usually go near 800k context with no problems, no slowing or drifting. what kind of tasks do you have issues with?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1wn2lux/deepseek_41_flash_starts_to_crawl_at_about/pbco8hd/)
- Praise, 2026-10-07, r/LocalLLaMA (Reddit): “i have a rtx 5080. using ninfer with 230k ctx with claude code, opencode and pi. no issues so far. no reasoning loops or kv quality degradation experienced. compaction is good in claude code and opencode. i tried coding, general chat and prose.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1wzfv45/just_my_how_i_run_qwen38_27b_on_16gb_experience/peece91/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-13, r/opencode (Reddit): “after 300-400k tokens imho. if you go past that, it starts loosing context and derail its reasoning.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x4pf51/im_new_on_using_opencode_so_what_is_the_best_free/pgfsge6/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-12, @opencode (X): “@suyashkelvin @opencode this isn't true, while i do use glm 5.3 flash (its already on opencode btw) it absolutely does hallucinate on longer running sessions” [source](https://twitter.com/2092956458589511680/status/2109639357871067545)

### Google Antigravity

- Praise, 2026-09-07, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “don’t do that. discuss everything in antigravity as it retains better context” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1w9q3ch/i_never_thought_i_would_hit_the_5_hour_gemini/p8cveeb/)
- Praise, 2026-09-05, @antigravity (X): “@nlycskn @antigravity @thtbee_ having 3.8 flash assist my dev workflow in antigravity. multi-step terminal loops (running supabase queries, debugging tests, pushing git/vercel deploys) hold context way better than 3.7. the autonomous execution speed is wild.” [source](https://twitter.com/2044149484804825089/status/2096200258803884047)
- Praise, 2026-10-01, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “it's been available internally to google employees and select partners for a few weeks now. in my experience, it feels just as good as opus 5.5 for coding. can switch between argon and opus without noticing a difference in quality. argon is significantly faster though and i did not notice it forgetting context, even during very long coding sessions.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1wv4tbg/when_will_gemini_4_argon_be_available_to_pro/pda2buu/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-18, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “it contradicts itself and loses the plot on long context tasks. i really do not see any reason to use this model, specially now that deepseek v4.1 flash 1017 is available.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1x8x6nn/dont_worry_too_much_argon_its_genuinely_not_that/phgirsx/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-13, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “trashgravity.. flash is so trash i have to remind it the whole context of novel every 2-3 prompts.. like da fq. even chat gpt free is better at this point..” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1x51wf0/google_is_so_obsessed_with_benchmaxxing_that/pginbky/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-10, r/google_antigravity (Reddit): “if you mean in the same conversation sometimes it does that bs, i ask it a continuation question and suddenly answers like that question was the first message it is fixed with a retry but annoying asf” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/google_antigravity/comments/1x23pck/38_does_not_remember_own_previous_prompt_that/peznj7g/)

### Amp

- Praise, 2026-09-05, @AmpCode (X): “@dringrayson @ampcode i honestly forgot context limits were a think with amp” [source](https://twitter.com/88027497/status/2096330093190840797)
- Complaint, 2026-09-14, @AmpCode (X): “@dringrayson @ampcode how are you running it on large codebases then? mine kept losing context halfway through long tasks.” [source](https://twitter.com/1657072130742206464/status/2099599681273688159)
- Complaint, 2026-09-13, @AmpCode (X): “@dringrayson @ampcode ran it on a big monorepo and the agent kept losing context halfway through. does it hold up at scale?” [source](https://twitter.com/1657072130742206464/status/2099068295710118069)
- Complaint, 2026-09-11, @AmpCode (X): “@ampcode @sqs @thorstenball you also mention this transition from queueing to steering by default. i was using medium mode (with sol medium) and it didn’t feel great a few times because it would end up forgetting the previous message. which models are in your opinion ready for this transition? astra?” [source](https://twitter.com/872962356/status/2098512982539985267)

### Kiro

- Praise, 2026-09-21, @kirodotdev (X): “@kirodotdev in long conversations, it does not lose context, which indeed saves a lot of trouble when debugging code.” [source](https://twitter.com/1518315606830829568/status/2102075322762137730)

### Cline

- Praise, 2026-09-24, @cline (X): “@cline free 1m context at that speed? that’s a serious upgrade. i’m using the free tier for long docs and it handles them gracefully, no lag when scrolling back to fix syntax earlier in the chat. finally feels practical for daily use rather than just benchmarks” [source](https://twitter.com/417508671/status/2103188942069858418)

### Factory

- Complaint, 2026-09-29, @droid (X): “@adityavg13 @droid a conversation can hold three days of context without crashing? after running for two days, it just becomes incredibly dumb.” [source](https://twitter.com/1212651734209724416/status/2105044576574779876)
