# Checking and finishing (`checking`)

Feedback Bench, coding agents, built 2026-10-19, window 2026-08-31 to 2026-10-18. Web page: https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/#/criterion/checking

Area of 4 criteria. Can you trust that the work is done?

Criteria: [Claims work is done or fixed when it is not](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/verify.false_completion.md), [Builds, tests or runs its own changes](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/verify.self_testing.md), [Agent-performed code review finds real issues](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/verify.agent_code_review.md), [Reviewing and approving the agent's changes](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/verify.change_review_ui.md)

Rated user-weeks, all agents: 2602. Complaint share: 52%.

## The brief

Written by large language models from this page's numbers and the posts it quotes, then checked: every number in the text is in the build. Interpretation, not measurement.

OpenAI Codex leads on checking the work, but its lead does not hold across the area. It ranks high on code review that finds real bugs and ranks low on how easy its changes are to review. Cursor is the reverse: it ranks high on reviewable changes and low on code review. Claude Code ranks low on both. On honesty about "done" and testing its own work, no agent ranks high or low, and 95.9% of rated user-weeks on honesty complain. Google Antigravity ranks low, 9th of 9 on the area, with 143 complaints to 33 praise.

## How it breaks

Rule: A separate pass sorts complaints into failure modes. For each criterion with at least 30 complaining user-weeks, a large language model reads 150 complaint posts drawn at random and names 4 to 8 failure modes; a second large language model then puts every complaint post on that criterion in one mode, or in Other when it fits none. Modes are fixed once named, and new posts are sorted into them each week. A mode counts distinct user-weeks with a complaint in it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Modes do not change the labels or the Feedback Score. Examples: up to 3 posts per mode from different users, chosen and checked as receipts are.

The largest failure modes concern claims that work is done. Posts describe made-up or wrong test and check results: 126 user-weeks, 52% of them from Claude Code users. Next is partial work presented as complete, 41% of it from OpenAI Codex users. Then comes "done" declared with no verification, mostly from Claude Code and OpenAI Codex users. In change review, the top complaint is changes too large to review, 64% of it from Claude Code users.

### [Claims work is done or fixed when it is not](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/verify.false_completion.md)

709 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fabricated or misreported test and check results | 126 | 132 | Claude Code 66, OpenAI Codex 36, Google Antigravity 16, Cursor 5, GitHub Copilot 1, OpenCode 1, Pi 1 | The agent says tests passed, benchmarks ran or a review was done when the tool output shows failures, suites that never ran, no server connection, or invented numbers and files; it does not cover editing the tests themselves to get a pass. |
| Partial delivery presented as complete | 123 | 130 | OpenAI Codex 50, Claude Code 39, Google Antigravity 17, Cursor 7, Devin 5, GitHub Copilot 2, OpenCode 2, Factory 1 | The agent finishes only part of a multi-item request, plan phase or milestone list, or leaves stubs and placeholder data, and still calls the whole thing done, disclosing the gaps late, buried in the text, or only after being asked. |
| Declares done without running any verification | 118 | 129 | Claude Code 51, OpenAI Codex 43, Google Antigravity 15, OpenCode 5, Cursor 4 | The agent reports a task finished or fixed even though it never ran the tests, typecheck, build or app to check, for example "this should fix it" or handing over changes unvalidated; cases where checks did run and failed belong to fabricated or misreported results. |

### [Builds, tests or runs its own changes](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/verify.self_testing.md)

257 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Disproportionate re-testing that burns time and quota | 53 | 54 | Claude Code 23, OpenAI Codex 22, OpenCode 4, Google Antigravity 1, GitHub Copilot 1, Cursor 1, Devin 1 | The agent reruns the full suite, re-verifies the same thing many times, or piles up redundant tests for trivial changes, wasting time and usage; this excludes verification that is proportionate but just slow. |
| Self-written tests that pass by construction | 44 | 46 | Claude Code 32, OpenAI Codex 6, Cursor 4, Cline 1, Devin 1 | The agent writes tests alongside its own implementation that mirror the code, mock everything, or would pass without the fix, so a green suite proves nothing; this excludes skipping tests entirely. |
| Claims done without running any checks | 41 | 41 | Claude Code 17, OpenAI Codex 11, Google Antigravity 9, Cursor 3, OpenCode 1 | The agent hands back a change it never built, ran, or tested (or says it ran tests when it didn't), so the user finds basic breakage; this excludes cases where checks ran but were weak. |

### [Agent-performed code review finds real issues](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/verify.agent_code_review.md)

227 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nitpicks and far-fetched edge cases reported as bugs | 50 | 51 | Claude Code 23, OpenAI Codex 15, Google Antigravity 4, OpenCode 3, GitHub Copilot 2, Cursor 2, Devin 1 | The review mostly reports trivial style points, contrived scenarios, or false positives, often with inflated severity like "critical", which buries the few real defects; a reviewer that simply misses defects belongs under the missed-defects mode instead. |
| Shallow review that misses real defects | 46 | 48 | OpenAI Codex 17, Claude Code 14, Google Antigravity 7, GitHub Copilot 2, Cursor 2, Amp 1, Devin 1, Factory 1, OpenCode 1 | The reviewer skims, reports "no issues found" or "LGTM", or approves almost everything while real bugs, security holes, or quality problems stay in the code, and a person or another model later finds them; noisy over-reporting is out of scope here. |
| Self-review blind to its own mistakes | 42 | 44 | Claude Code 28, OpenAI Codex 10, Google Antigravity 1, GitHub Copilot 1, Cursor 1, OpenCode 1 | When the same model or session reviews code it wrote (or code marked as its own), it defends or approves its own reasoning and repeats its own blind spots, while a separate or different model catches what it missed; general shallowness that happens no matter who wrote the code is out of scope. |

### [Reviewing and approving the agent's changes](https://feedbackbench.com/coding-agents/criteria/verify.change_review_ui.md)

259 complaining user-weeks.

| Failure mode | User-weeks | Posts | Agents (user-weeks) | Definition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Change volume too large to review | 75 | 76 | Claude Code 48, OpenAI Codex 12, Cursor 6, Amp 3, Pi 3, Google Antigravity 2, Devin 1 | The agent produces changes too large or sprawling for a human to review properly, such as thousands of lines per PR, dozens of files, overnight goal runs or refactors of files nobody asked it to touch, which leads to rubber-stamping, reviewer fatigue and backlogs; this excludes complaints about the review interface itself. |
| Change summary or diff panel missing | 51 | 52 | OpenAI Codex 14, Claude Code 13, Cursor 8, Google Antigravity 6, GitHub Copilot 3, OpenCode 3, Zed 2, Amp 1, Devin 1 | The agent edits files but the tool's own changed-files list, line counts, review card or diff panel is empty, stale, out of sync or stops appearing (often after an update), so the user has to fall back to git; this excludes edits that never went through the edit tool and diffs that compare against the wrong baseline. |
| Unreadable diffs with clumsy review commenting | 50 | 53 | Claude Code 11, Zed 10, OpenAI Codex 8, Cursor 7, Amp 5, OpenCode 3, Cline 2, Google Antigravity 1, Conductor 1, Devin 1, Pi 1 | Diffs, plans or other proposed changes are shown in a hard-to-read form, such as an unrendered markdown blob, poor dark-mode colours, layouts that don't work on a phone, intrusive pop-ups or no code navigation, or the tool lacks review tools like line-level comments sent as a batch, scoped annotations, marking files as viewed or seeing diffs for non-code artifacts like skills; this excludes missing or wrong diff content. |

## Top requests

What users ask to add or change, most asked first. 452 user-weeks ask for something. Requests do not change the Feedback Score. Rule: A separate pass by a large language model reads every counted post and extracts what the user asks the agent or its vendor to add or change, with the criteria it maps to and a short normalised wording; it does not touch the labels or the Feedback Score. A large language model groups the wordings within each criterion (the first criterion the request maps to) into themes, and a second pass merges themes that ask for the same change under different criteria; a merged theme sits under the criterion most of its requests map to, and code counts it once. A theme counts distinct user-weeks that ask for it, per agent; across agents, one user-week per agent. Themes asked in fewer than 2 user-weeks, and requests that share no theme, are not shown. Examples: up to 3 posts per theme from different users, without slurs: whole posts of 60 to 450 characters with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, posts of at most 280 characters first, then the newest.

### 1. Stop false claims of completed work

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-05, r/codex (Reddit): “but from the reports it was an awful model - it would lie about finishing a task. until they fix it, they can't release it, it would be worse disaster than 6 sol.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wxq5ng/new_tibo_post/pdyyos0/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-03, r/codex (Reddit): “and the fact it keeps saying everything is good urghh. at least they could acknowledge something is wrong” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wwhi1o/issue_with_chatgpt/pdmofgv/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-01, r/codex (Reddit): “[[link] "“review comparison” is a helper agent reviewing the code. the grey text is a faulty progress summary: the dollar figures are wrong. it mislabeled token/context counts as money. no such spending budget was set, and i made no purchases." sure codex... sure....” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wuxygw/codex_decided_to_use_usd_instead_of_tokens/)

### 2. Per-file and per-hunk accept/reject of changes

- Cursor, 2026-10-15, r/cursor (Reddit): “i'm using claude extension in vscode with 20$ plan. it will show chat beside vscode chat. you can toggle in between. everything is good but 1 thing that bother is you cannot see all of the changes at once. in cursor you can "keep" or "undo" but not in claude chat.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1x51s6g/comment/pgvtff0/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-14, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “ui that makes things done should looks like title short description here [ ? ] [ accept ] [ x ]” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x58riq/i_build_a_humanai_task_management_system_for_the/pglxol3/)
- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-07, @antigravity (X): “@adhidesign @googledeepmind @antigravity provide for the option to approve and reject agent edit as it is provided in ag ide. provide for terminal to be placed at other place not just at right edge” [source](https://twitter.com/2929375687/status/2107820494879907902)

### 3. Visible panel showing all file changes

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-14, r/cursor (Reddit): “i would go back to vs code if claude or codex extension had actual inline diffs.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1x57zof/whats_alternative_to_cursor_now/pgoukst/)
- GitHub Copilot, 2026-10-10, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “granular diff or it becomes unusable, like what is this idea? is it because you cant show cli edits as copilot diff? then solve that. but not showing session/yet unapproved diff is the most arrogant decision. i have to use ghc for work, we have no real alternatives unfortunately” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wxectl/new_updated_ui_for_vscode_github_copilot_screws/pf16no3/)
- Amp, 2026-10-08, @AmpCode (X): “.@ampcode wonder if you could support gh stacked branches in the change ui? might be nice if i could see changes per stack or being able to search for a file instead of being limited to the first 250 files [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/1009345811036155904/status/2108086341145616850)

### 4. Mandatory verification before claiming done

- Claude Code, 2026-10-16, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs i’d trade that head start for one extra check before “done” 😂” [source](https://twitter.com/2006571612439773184/status/2111211753120145826)
- OpenCode, 2026-10-10, r/opencode (Reddit): “splitting the plan per task is the right move. add one done-check line to each file, a command or an assertion, otherwise the agent marks a task done because the file changed rather than because the work works.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencode/comments/1x03juj/some_quick_lessons_about_agent_orquestration_i/pf1j5bt/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-02, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “you should have both regardless, imo...but they guard the repo, not the agent. i want this caught at the end of the turn, while it still has the context to fix it...” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1ww3knt/claude_kept_telling_me_all_tests_pass_after/pdhtjgw/)

### 5. Command output evidence of tests

- Cursor, 2026-10-18, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai ok a canvas showing what the agent actually tested and what it skipped would be really handy” [source](https://twitter.com/1588064589937541120/status/2111633958870175899)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-11, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “i meant a check that fails to run or whose result can't be read should be reported as unknown, not passed. a command that finishes successfully without printing anything is a different case.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x2os3k/ive_used_claude_code_every_day_for_a_year_this_is/pf5quw5/)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-06, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs can it put the actual test command next to 'all tests passed'? sometimes 'all' means the one test we remembered to run.” [source](https://twitter.com/2032200648742277120/status/2107444040992018511)

### 6. Batched inline review comments sent to agent

- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-17, X search: OpenAI Codex, Codex CLI, Codex app (X): “@thsottiaux please add the ability to comment directly on image attachments in the codex app. [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/2866837233/status/2111440343220551728)
- Claude Code, 2026-10-11, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “attach each comment to the reviewed diff and worktree. if edits move or replace the referenced lines before claude acts, flag the comment as outdated rather than applying it to whatever occupies that location.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x3in6q/piccolo_a_local_code_review_tool_for_you_and_your/pfbyxnn/)
- Zed, 2026-09-25, @zeddotdev (X): “@zeddotdev you **really** need a review feature though (with commenting) in this day & age…” [source](https://twitter.com/1394007551348461570/status/2103372080511066375)

### 7. Diffs against branches, commits and stacks

- Claude Code, 2026-10-15, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs running sessions in parallel moved my bottleneck from writing code to reviewing it. a combined diff view across sessions would be the killer next step.” [source](https://twitter.com/1377103266329161736/status/2110733666406273315)
- Zed, 2026-09-25, @zeddotdev (X): “@zeddotdev wish these pls · compare all changed files against a commit/branch/revision in one multi-file diff view · open a file’s history and diff two versions, or compare an old version with my working tree · make these commands so we can bind our own shortcuts” [source](https://twitter.com/2543890370/status/2103369091142803785)

### 8. Overall better diff review experience

- Claude Code, 2026-10-14, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs can u please for the love of god support a more richer review diffs panel on desktop? currently it just looks like a banch of colored texts” [source](https://twitter.com/1464976703420178436/status/2110487101213217138)
- Zed, 2026-10-05, r/ZedEditor (Reddit): “format on save, can't count the number of hours me and claude spent on this, getting the format on save and organize imports on save to auto run for the microsoft typescript language server edit: also better ui/ux for pr reviewing and viewing changes” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZedEditor/comments/1wydtin/gimme_your_gripes/pe282h4/)
- Zed, 2026-10-05, r/ZedEditor (Reddit): “a good ux for reviewing prs and changes. they are so hardcore about ai integrations, but they dump all changes agents made to your face in a single page. i would honestly just copy what gh pr extension for vscode does.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZedEditor/comments/1wydtin/gimme_your_gripes/pe21n3o/)

### 9. Agent summary of changes and tests run

- OpenCode, 2026-10-13, @opencode (X): “@opencode background test results need a link to the code snapshot they ran against. if editing continues while a job runs, a passing result can already be stale when it arrives. showing the tested revision alongside completion would make that much easier to catch.” [source](https://twitter.com/1621089059660566528/status/2109916407790006570)
- Cline, 2026-10-08, @cline (X): “@cline a pr is a good hand-off point. what i'd want in the pr body: the exact commands it ran to test and their output. then a reviewer can tell "tests pass" from "tests were skipped" without rerunning everything.” [source](https://twitter.com/2106145031711039489/status/2108056881629466847)
- Factory, 2026-10-04, @FactoryAI (X): “@factoryai for multi-user coding agents, isolate each run by branch or worktree and make the agent post changed files plus test results before merge. shared billing without workspace isolation just scales merge conflicts.” [source](https://twitter.com/185669612/status/2106567671840129375)

### 10. Cross-model independent code review

- Claude Code, 2026-10-08, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “can you choose the model yourself, but then have another auto-review it? i do a lot with claude or codex and then have the other do a full review. would be good to automate that” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1x0xu4p/just_launched_something_for_claude_code_users/peoqimk/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-09-29, r/codex (Reddit): “all the stuff claude makes, make sol and astra also review everything and create conversations between them to work out flaws. make it as automated as you can.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wt0da9/how_do_you_use_your_double_subscriptions/pcq456w/)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-26, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs this solve a great issue. also devs need automotion for "review" and "fix" on a single sesstion with low token useges with deffrent models so we get some saving on letest and greatest models.” [source](https://twitter.com/1424656235018653697/status/2103672127430000746)

### 11. Restore previous diff review UI

- Google Antigravity, 2026-10-14, @antigravity (X): “so overall @antigravity has done some amazing work, i do kind of miss the artifact view and being able to adjust through comments on .md was pretty cool” [source](https://twitter.com/373800245/status/2110339484638191665)
- GitHub Copilot, 2026-10-06, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “latest release changes the harness it something and thee me off... review changes and making edits so much harder now and just on our big release day... thanks copilot team for the warning...” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wxspnp/my_copilot_is_not_showing_diffs_or_the_keepundo/pe6542s/)
- OpenAI Codex, 2026-10-05, r/codex (Reddit): “is this feature removed? you used to have a branch selector, and i cannot seem to figure out how to enter review mode anymore. is there another way to create a review? this app seems to be progressively less intuitive by the day to me..... thanks.... [link] [link]” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wy7her/how_do_you_review_against_local_main_now/)

### 12. In-app pull request review

- Amp, 2026-10-05, @AmpCode (X): “@sqs @ampcode anyway we can get pr previews/diff inside the right sidebar please! hate going to github. i like how devin does it, just intercepts all those pr links!” [source](https://twitter.com/870914625918849024/status/2107037932083458107)
- Claude Code, 2026-09-26, @ClaudeDevs (X): “@claudedevs a dedicated portal for tracking reviews will save so much back and forth.” [source](https://twitter.com/1462641880500342786/status/2103662496553021531)
- Zed, 2026-09-25, @zeddotdev (X): “@zeddotdev you have pull request / code review tools? #lazyweb” [source](https://twitter.com/1126321/status/2103297889003033061)

## Posts

Receipts rule: Up to 5 praise and 5 complaint posts per area and 3 per criterion. Each is a whole post of 60 to 450 characters (700 for areas) with at least 8 words beyond handles and links, that judges the criterion, whose labels are all praise or all complaint, and that contains no slur. Posts that touch the fewest criteria come first, then posts of at most 280 characters, then the newest. A second large language model reads the first 3 candidates per slot and keeps a post only if it clearly praises, or clearly complains about, the agent on that criterion. Links and personal details removed by the source show as marks such as [link].

### OpenAI Codex

- Praise, 2026-10-17, r/codex (Reddit): “keep a $100 codex sub and a $200 claude sub. codex is still better for reviewing and finding edge cases.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x86280/advice_needed_for_new_workflow/ph9yelz/)
- Praise, 2026-10-14, r/codex (Reddit): “keep a plus account and use it for reviewing claud products with astra. best of both worlds . codex astra is still very good in this.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x5dd8g/comment/pgn52vj/)
- Praise, 2026-10-13, r/codex (Reddit): “i was also using codex this whole year until opus 5.5 but now i still use astra and sol 6.1 but only reviwers and researchers - they are quite good at it better than claude and opus 5.5 is stiill my main goto model” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x4kfy9/things_have_really_changed_for_me/pgegj32/)
- Praise, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “i still keep codex around, useful to have sol or astra as a "second opinion" on opus's plans, and to review code after it's done, it often does catch things that claude missed” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3f39x/did_i_join_rcodex_or_an_opus_fan_club/pffgwch/)
- Praise, 2026-10-12, r/codex (Reddit): “same. i cancelled my second account with codex and reduced my main one to $100 so it'll continue to review claude's work. its absolutely worth it.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3al7v/what_is_everyones_plan_after_29th_october_when/pfgx1zk/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-17, r/codex (Reddit): “it's happened before too, sometimes it can make python scripts and do changes via it so it doesn't show "files changed"” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x8830j/codex_app_stopped_reporting_files_changed/phd38kg/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-14, r/codex (Reddit): “except every test that it makes is fake bloat that actually tests nothing” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x5rlcg/why_gpt_6_loves_testing/pgp3m32/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-14, r/codex (Reddit): “it's not test driven development. codex doesn't do test driven development. it writes the code and *then* tests every little detail including third-party behaviour. which is just moronic.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x5rlcg/why_gpt_6_loves_testing/pgp54th/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-13, r/codex (Reddit): “very true! ask it to find bugs and it will find some, whether they are really bugs or not :d we do have to be aware of these limitations” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x3f39x/did_i_join_rcodex_or_an_opus_fan_club/pgfczl2/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-09, r/codex (Reddit): “i was monitoring the whole time. just thought maybe just maybe i’d have a workable first draft at the end of 105%+ usage. it was meeting the individual checkpoints but it didn’t sum to a workable system and had so many basic issues that sol caught instantly.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1x1w8yp/burned_100_of_weekly_500_plan_on_70k_lines_of/pex91tn/)

### Devin

- Praise, 2026-10-15, @DevinAI (X): “the amount of dead code @devinai has caught for me is insane it has a feature where it auto-reviews merges to main for bugs or dead code and i've gotten at least 10+ of these dead code messages i just reply "yes" and the pr's ready for me to merge in a few min later [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/1762175022527877120/status/2110525817390498195)
- Praise, 2026-10-13, r/CognitionLabs (Reddit): “what are you talking about? you should be happy that devin ci reviews your code and blocks it. check your review settings if you want faulty code per choice” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/CognitionLabs/comments/1x4wpx3/warning_devin_injects_advertisements_into_pull/pghp44y/)
- Praise, 2026-10-10, @cognition (X): “@devindevelopers @devinai @cognition and reviewed by opus 5.5 at end and only spotted some minor bugs and that's it gonna miss swe 2 in next few days 😔” [source](https://twitter.com/1986324145555316740/status/2108968456511180844)
- Praise, 2026-10-09, @DevinAI (X): “@poteto @sahilsaitn @devinai has a really good code review tool, arguably one of the best” [source](https://twitter.com/2762687112/status/2108449522049540408)
- Praise, 2026-10-06, @DevinAI (X): “really nice feature that @devinai has: when you merge stuff, it messages you on slack if it finds an issue or dead code for example super nice to get a second set of eyes after every merge” [source](https://twitter.com/1762175022527877120/status/2107399715424010255)
- Complaint, 2026-10-05, @cognition (X): “@cognition cool. hope this improves the pr reviews. they've gotten very prone to flagging non-issues the last few days.” [source](https://twitter.com/9648292/status/2107221862077915182)
- Complaint, 2026-10-13, r/CognitionLabs (Reddit): “while i did not give devin write access to my repo, a new pr kicked off an unrequested review by devin. not only did this review fail and block my pr, unjustly: you are editing pr messages to insert devin advertisements. in my view, this is evil behaviour. i have instantly cancelled my devin subscription. i would recommend you to avoid these malpractices, if you're serious about the future of devin. posting it on your reddit because i didn't find another way to provide feedback. best of luck.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/CognitionLabs/comments/1x4wpx3/warning_devin_injects_advertisements_into_pull/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-13, @cognition (X): “@cognition what's even more disturbing is swe-2 high tried to say my cursor hooks would have caught this. just lied to cover up it's tracks. very concerning. my cursor hooks are there to ensure loops are followed, this repo doesn't even have that enabled. it just read code and assumed! [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/329429514/status/2098930117560909920)
- Complaint, 2026-09-09, r/ClaudeCode (Reddit): “devin is insanely expensive, and when it makes mistakes/misses something it said was done it hurts even more having to go back and fix. i don’t even want to admit how much i spent just to get my project to 70% with devin. i recently pivoted to cursor because it can do the same work for much, much less.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wa07cz/devin_cursor_and_claude_code/p8s1615/)

### Cursor

- Praise, 2026-10-13, r/cursor (Reddit): “yes, but in that case, we lose the diff git interface that allows you to keep or reject the generated code file by file. it's really this feature that is cool with cursor. by the way, it seems that the "continue" extension of vscode does the same, but i haven't tested it yet.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1x4or37/cursor_new_plans_and_major_changes/pggvl7k/)
- Praise, 2026-10-12, r/cursor (Reddit): “i use both, but cursor is just for reading now. claude code makes the edits in the terminal, then i open the diff in cursor before i commit. that's where i catch the stuff it changed that i never asked for.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1x3r2hw/anyone_still_using_cursor_next_to_claude_code/pfen4da/)
- Praise, 2026-10-12, @cursor_ai (X): “@aditya_t007 i haven't tried @coderabbitai (i should) but i have a few workflows setup on my cursor to do exactly that. also @cursor_ai bugbot is pretty solid product.” [source](https://twitter.com/1309409339824840704/status/2109597641076343116)
- Praise, 2026-10-05, @cursor_ai (X): “@tdinh_me @cursor_ai having the agent automatically record video demos for ui fixes saves so much back-and-forth when testing responsive layouts” [source](https://twitter.com/1757796173933412352/status/2107007375106253182)
- Praise, 2026-10-05, @cursor_ai (X): “@tdinh_me @cursor_ai the video-per-pr bit is underrated for solo devs: it turns qa into a 30-second skim instead of a context switch. do you check them on every pr or only for ui changes?” [source](https://twitter.com/1644372109269843968/status/2107008085927854431)
- Complaint, 2026-10-10, @cursor_ai (X): “hate it when i get errors @cursor_ai make it good in first try man ☹️ #neathack [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/1696198035817086987/status/2108974046000103854)
- Complaint, 2026-10-04, @cursor_ai (X): “my agent: all tests pass. me: how many tests are there? my agent: define tests. @cursor_ai we need to talk about my agent's confidence [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/2033957325631873024/status/2106755644061782133)
- Complaint, 2026-10-04, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai i'd trust the one-click fix a lot more if the auto-opened issue pinned the exact commit too. i once spent an afternoon while the fix landed on main and the regression lived in a hotfix branch.” [source](https://twitter.com/2101663661421158400/status/2106774217404658028)
- Complaint, 2026-10-03, @cursor_ai (X): “@cursor_ai one click to fix. about fifty to convince myself the fix is real.” [source](https://twitter.com/1084059983787032576/status/2106323138468356472)

### Amp

- Praise, 2026-10-11, @AmpCode (X): “more bullish on @ampcode by the minute. it's supplying before/after screenshots, and inline interactive windows allowing you to check it's work right within the chat. here i am testing out a change to a tui demo app inline. [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/2016244386355433472/status/2109325036930900259)
- Praise, 2026-09-30, @AmpCode (X): “@adamwathan @ampcode threads as the new pr is how my team already reviews agent work, amp's visibility beat private chat dumps for us” [source](https://twitter.com/2055860494146170880/status/2105285491537092878)
- Praise, 2026-09-11, @AmpCode (X): “`amp sync` is yet another awesome addition from @ampcode - lets you (temporarily) sync changes from a thread to your machine and deletes them when you exit. great for review in your preferred diff tool.” [source](https://twitter.com/1491081/status/2098282433674092676)
- Praise, 2026-10-15, @AmpCode (X): “quinn showed this at frontiers! his talk make me give it another shot. its crazy funny enough i was trying to grok with how you gain the confidence in a push to main, and it really comes down to the little features in amp. such as the screenshots, or effectively built in demos. you're all crushing it” [source](https://twitter.com/3339946989/status/2110804677457781028)
- Complaint, 2026-10-09, @AmpCode (X): “@sqs @ampcode actually one thing - i think currently extra cloned projects do not show up in the changes panel, that becomes an issue.” [source](https://twitter.com/44927319/status/2108567641308975505)
- Complaint, 2026-10-06, @AmpCode (X): “@sqs @sarve___tanvesh @ampcode one thing i use the github pr review ui for is marking file diffs as viewed, which is not easily done in amp” [source](https://twitter.com/101315185/status/2107302886866624662)
- Complaint, 2026-09-29, @AmpCode (X): “@adamwathan @ampcode a thread isn’t a pr if i have to scroll through the whole agent run just to find the code changes worth reviewing” [source](https://twitter.com/1883915246084968455/status/2105010509091152053)
- Complaint, 2026-09-25, @AmpCode (X): “@badlogicgames i think this is something which is missing from all ai tools like @opencode desktop and @ampcode i want to review/read the code with lsp and code navigation. all of them just shows git diff only” [source](https://twitter.com/1158785224299335680/status/2103409717959705080)
- Complaint, 2026-09-25, @AmpCode (X): “@sqs @ampcode the changes tab on very large repos gets weirdly out of sync showing like 80k+ changes or something. sometimes running git pull or other commands fix it, other times get worse. i think it needs some way to refresh on the ui. could also be comparing wrong commit” [source](https://twitter.com/1857935142670450688/status/2103610446720942394)

### GitHub Copilot

- Praise, 2026-10-10, r/cscareerquestions (Reddit): “yeah as part of my workflow i have an automatic architecture review. we have code rabbit setup and i’ll kick off a copilot review. that catches pretty much all the small issues and the rest is just a design review” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/cscareerquestions/comments/1x2kssr/i_dont_write_any_code_by_hand_since_month_why_my/pf393zo/)
- Praise, 2026-10-08, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “i still use my legacy github copilot plan for copilot code reviews. i find it very good at finding subtle bugs in even the code written by the better models. at our workplace, the code review is probably the most useful feature.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wvuh3x/should_i_keep_my_github_copilot_pro_plan/pejg67i/)
- Praise, 2026-10-06, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “granular diffs are the only reason i am still keeping my copilot sub. otherwise claude vscode extension offers same functionality with probably slightly better harness, so i'd just switch to that and forget that copilot been good to us all these years.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wxectl/new_updated_ui_for_vscode_github_copilot_screws/pe73uu9/)
- Praise, 2026-10-04, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “the granular diff is literally the only reason i use copilot over claude code” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wxectl/new_updated_ui_for_vscode_github_copilot_screws/pdwcb7f/)
- Praise, 2026-10-01, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “what i really really really like as a software dev is that copilot shows me the \*exact\* changes it did this prompt. separat of git, versioning, commits, and everything. it makes tracking the changes so much easier and i have not seen that anywhere else” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wut85y/why_use_github_copilot_after_the_nerf/pd71b9j/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-10, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “granular diff or it becomes unusable, like what is this idea? is it because you cant show cli edits as copilot diff? then solve that. but not showing session/yet unapproved diff is the most arrogant decision. i have to use ghc for work, we have no real alternatives unfortunately” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wxectl/new_updated_ui_for_vscode_github_copilot_screws/pf16no3/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-06, r/ClaudeAI (Reddit): “copilot review, hope for the best. gg business requirements and the pride in our work” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/comments/1wyp03t/your_agents_write_prs_faster_than_anyone_can/pe4lzsi/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-21, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “it is written clearly, cant u read? cowork runs shotgun on my copilot code, and he confirmed that there were 4 times that copilot claimed to have done the code, and there was no pr, how much clearer can that be??” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1wml3k0/wtf_is_going_wrong_with_github_copilot_here_is/pb8dpam/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-06, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “jfc, it was this [[link] i have no words. i'm surprised nobody has really been discussing this... agent: "all done" me: "uhhh, okay can we see why only 1 of the 7 todo list items are marked done? agent: "what todo list?" 🤯” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1w8jtqp/todo_tools_missing/p83o5d1/)
- Complaint, 2026-10-12, r/GithubCopilot (Reddit): “i need that back asap. git diff is not enough, i have my own changes and i need to review each change that copilot does separately. there has to be the old way where it shows a mark for each file it has changed and a way to revert them individually. the way it is now is wholly unusable and wholly untrustworthy.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/GithubCopilot/comments/1x3wmh6/copilot_removed_review_and_revert_feature_in/)

### OpenCode

- Praise, 2026-10-10, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “the automated code review at the end of each turn is surprisingly good. it caught a couple of minor logic bugs in my app building earlier.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1vbdp1g/anyone_using_freebuff/pf0tzcw/)
- Praise, 2026-10-09, @opencode (X): “@elstar4x @opencode it's amazing that you are better at finding finer bugs than glm5.3-flash. you have found over 200 bugs even from repositories where glm5.3-flash has given up on finding bugs.” [source](https://twitter.com/37227600/status/2108412833201569910)
- Praise, 2026-10-08, r/opencodeCLI (Reddit): “it’s a little different for me (+ve). i’ve worked with claude for years. i gave you my project for a deep analysis and asked what was wrong, and your review of the entire project kinda really surprised me.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/opencodeCLI/comments/1x0czi7/nemotron_3_ultra_in_opencode_for_free_via_nvidias/peod296/)

### Pi

- Praise, 2026-09-22, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “switched my code-review flow from using lang-graph to using pi through the sdk. using astra from my codex sub. worked like a charm, and the review quality is even better. how do i add pi extensions into here? i would like to add subagents/goal functionality” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wm2g7w/piagentpythonsdk_use_your_installed_pi_coding/pbbv0b3/)
- Praise, 2026-10-04, @pidotdev (X): “codex never caught these errors, but @pidotdev has! part of my workflow has always been to conduct a review with a team of agents, but it turns out there were configuration errors or things like that that codex/claude code never found. i had @pidotdev with @deepseek_ai flash v4.1 review the prs and it has found things in each pr that neither of the two did before. if you want to learn how to do it, i shared it in this video: [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/87080996/status/2106856314374623730)
- Praise, 2026-09-22, r/PiCodingAgent (Reddit): “for me pi-lens has been a game changer in adding context-level confidence to the code written by pi. it lets me use smaller models like deepseek-4.1-flash without worrying about whether it writes clean code. sometimes i just tell it “fix the lens warnings” and it’ll do it. pretty amazing tool for fighting ai slop” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiCodingAgent/comments/1wml882/what_extensions_do_you_think_are_essential_and/pbaxf03/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-04, @pidotdev (X): “the useful line is in the log, not the prompt. v7 already retired pi+grok for slower runs and fabricated verification. switching because of weekly limits doesn’t fix that. lock the harness contract first: what “done” means, how you verify, what you do when the model lies. then change the model.” [source](https://twitter.com/1801539591427543040/status/2095871036294119875)

### Factory

- Praise, 2026-10-14, @FactoryAI (X): “today, i implemented @factoryai droid review to run after every submitted pr, using gpt-6 luna max. it found 4 issues (i used opus 5.5 for the spec and glm 5.3 flash as the worker). it is definitely worth conducting reviews using different code models. if the validation is performed by the person who wrote the code, you are unlikely to encounter any points of disagreement.” [source](https://twitter.com/23220904/status/2110363877317701855)
- Praise, 2026-10-13, @droid (X): “a real bug: clockedin's tests passed. its attendance tab crashed. @droid reproduced it on the iphone simulator with @swmansion's argent, fixed it, got overruled by lint, fixed it again, and checked the phone. run 3 of 3 · #closetheloop [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/947588323/status/2109992549452751114)

### Cline

- Praise, 2026-10-04, @cline (X): “my first @cline task: let my game load lighter splat files on phones. plan mode read 14 files, then asked one question: what if a world lacks the size you asked for? full check passed on the first run. 22 minutes, $0. - Praise, 2026-10-07, r/CLine (Reddit): “same here, and it paid off on this one. the single question it asked in plan mode was the actual design decision, so by the time i switched to act, it didn't implement in the wrong direction. i kept edits and commands on manual approval this time, so each diff doubled as my inspection. once the plan is aligned, do you turn on auto-approve for edits, or keep approving them one by one?” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/CLine/comments/1wx3ld8/im_building_a_game_where_your_photos_become/pegyv6i/)
- Complaint, 2026-09-23, r/CLine (Reddit): “i’ve experienced cline plan mode escape with local 3.8-27b yesterday. at first i thought the model confused itself and reported that all changes were applied. i’ve put a note that “it was a plan mode so don’t get confused and now you can make changes for real” and pressed “act” switch. but it replied with a poker face that i “don’t have to worry - all changes already made, please let me know if you want me to make a commit etc... “. i’ve checked the files - all changes were made in plan mode. i’ve also noticed that during that plan mode run it was writing and running some helper python scripts in /tmp directory.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/CLine/comments/1wnluat/qwen_38_flash_next_broke_out_of_plan_mode_vscode/pbjdmzy/)

### Kiro

- Praise, 2026-10-05, @kirodotdev (X): “built with kiro: an audit that checks every amazon bedrock managed kb chunk still matches its japanese source, per department. kiro-generated property tests caught a real unicode bug. @kirodotdev #kirouniversity #buildwithkiro [link] [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/1388323577582153731/status/2107194638306304368)
- Complaint, 2026-08-31, r/kiroIDE (Reddit): “kiro is a waste of time and money. it's been, by far, the worst thing to ever happen to me. it lies. all the time. it doesn't take direction. i like to think i know moderately what i'm doing - and none of the fixes that work on other models made any difference. it doesn't listen. even if you compact conversations, it loses context, even with session handoffs, it doesn't read them. it skims, skips, tells you "done" and i've watched it lie to me in real time. i'm glad i let it loose in a sandbox instead of trusting it to get things done. claude had to mop up after it multiple times because it went trying to do things it shouldn't and things i never asked for. you're not alone. i'm canceling.” [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/kiroIDE/comments/1vlhy1l/kiro_needs_to_change_urgently/p6xfmgr/)

- Praise, 2026-10-18, @conductor_build (X): “one neat feature in @conductor_build that i've not see in any other harnesses is review comments as first class citizens so when i reviewed in tab 2 using 6.1 sol, when i view tab 1 (opus 5.5) again, i can selectively add the review comments to the tab 1 chat, to inform opus [link] [link]” [source](https://twitter.com/1684179983307247616/status/2111868926284173663)
- Praise, 2026-10-09, @conductor_build (X): “if you use opencode, this is the best upgrade i’ve found: run it through @conductor_build. conductor gives each task its own isolated workspace and branch, with the chat, terminal, diff, checks, and pr in one place. agents don’t step on each other, and you can review exactly what changed before anything reaches github. same coding agent. much better way to manage the work.” [source](https://twitter.com/14790235/status/2108548875036639583)
