# Gemini Spark users trust it to file their records; it pauses before deleting

*In the posts we read, 23 people praised Gemini Spark for building up the records they keep, mostly with Google, and 22 of them describe adding, sorting or filing. Where users find it holding back is bulk deletion and some scheduled runs, which stop for a yes one item at a time, and Google already exempts bulk changes in Google Tasks.*

What users credit, Gemini Spark. By Feedback Bench, 17 October 2026. Feedback Bench 1.1. Posts 2026-08-31 to 2026-10-18; bench built 2026-10-19. Web: https://feedbackbench.com/#/articles/gemini-spark-users-trust-it-to-file-their-records-it-pauses-before-deleting

One user admitted to having "[zero idea what google meant by 'gemini spark', but i just gave it 30 receipts on my gdrive and it completely filled out my expense report flawlessly !! pretty impressive](https://twitter.com/45668564/status/2108377369501180159)". The receipts were already in Drive. Spark read them, logged them and handed back the report.

This is the strength Gemini Spark's users single out. They point it at records they already keep, mostly with Google, and it does the dull work of building them up: sorting files into folders, logging receipts in a sheet, turning emails into calendar entries. We counted 23 people who describe Spark doing a named chore of this kind on their own records, about one in every 34 people who posted a judgement of Spark in the seven weeks we read. On a narrower count we could repeat for every personal agent, Spark has the highest rate we measured, level within the margin with Grok Bot, Instinct and Hark.

The 23 posts share something we did not expect. Twenty-two of them describe adding, sorting, filing or logging, and only one mentions clearing anything out. When users ask Spark to throw things away in bulk, it asks about each item, and some scheduled chores stop for a yes on every run while others, by the same users' accounts, run on their own.

## What people build with it

The chores are small and specific. A first-time user listed "[bulk sorting 140 items in drive](https://twitter.com/1819657813893001216/status/2096576830610518294)" among the things that impressed them. Another asked Spark to organise an inbox and reported that "[it created filters, folders, subfolders, organizers, tags with colors, etc.](https://twitter.com/2014067059294892032/status/2103936898955878874)" A user who had been entering a student soccer league's fixtures one by one said that "[it registered quickly in google calendar.](https://twitter.com/21485850/status/2105132277042938274)"

Some of the jobs had waited a long time. "[i was years behind with my expense tracker, i asked gemini spark to take care of it and in 10 minutes i had everything extracted and categorized in a document.](https://twitter.com/1048740031635099649/status/2107508417870868857)" Another user had Spark organise twelve years of Gmail and reported that it went fairly well, though not in one pass.

Six of the twenty-three describe household or small-business bookkeeping, with receipts in Drive and invoices arriving in Gmail. Google's own example, in its June update, was a budget sheet built from invoices saved on a Mac; users moved the same job into their Google accounts.

Five of the twenty-three also describe a chore that now runs on its own, some of them the same bookkeepers. One parent scans a daughter's school notices into Drive, and Spark checks them every night and logs them in a sheet. Another user has incoming invoices gathered into a spreadsheet as they arrive. A YouTube commenter wrote that "[i also automated expense control, every time i spend something or earn, it records it in a spreadsheet.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gOEw6GOTNU&lc=Ugy_vXwhBIXFrw07s2J4AaABAg)"

Much of this starts on a phone. One user sends links, screenshots, voice notes and PDFs to Spark from wherever they are, and it files them into an Obsidian vault kept in Google Drive. "[i only capture on my phone (where life happens) and gemini spark takes care of the heavy organization in the vault.](https://twitter.com/1649530978354733062/status/2097015130860945521)" The records already live with Google, so the person never has to describe a folder structure or move a file before asking.

The people who praise Spark also tend to like the moment it checks with them, as long as it checks once. The first-time user who sorted 140 items summed up the arrangement as "[humans just need to give instructions and confirm it's okay.](https://twitter.com/1819657813893001216/status/2096576830610518294)" A second counted user, who handed interview scheduling to Spark, said the half-hour job now needs only a confirmation from a person.

## Why it works

Users credit the plumbing Google already has. One user, describing a single email found, answered and sent with approval, put it as "[love this ecosystem and the integrations within google products.](https://twitter.com/2022967637886812160/status/2096171559484559827)" The receipts are already in Drive, the invoices already arrive in Gmail and the calendar is the one they already use, so there is nothing to export or connect before the first request. Google's help page lists what that reach covers, from labels in Gmail and edits in Sheets to scheduling in Calendar and bulk changes in Google Tasks.

## Against the field

To compare agents fairly we took every praise post that names a stored record and read the candidates for all nine agents under one written rule, scaling Grok Bot and Muse from a random sample. Spark comes out at 18 per 1,000 judging people, about twice the rate for Muse and Grok Bot. Its margin is wide, and it touches Grok Bot's. Spark's posts come from X and YouTube only, while Grok Bot and Muse also draw on app-store reviews and Reddit. Counted on X and YouTube alone, Grok Bot comes out at about 9 per 1,000 and Muse at about 10, with margins that overlap Spark's.

**Exhibit 1: Gemini Spark has the highest rate we measured, within the margin of Grok Bot, Instinct and Hark.** People who praised the agent for sorting, filing, logging or scheduling their own mail, files, receipts, lists or calendar, per 1,000 people who judged it. One keyword rule and one reading rule for every agent; 95% intervals in brackets.

| | Per 1,000 judging people |
|---|---|
| Gemini Spark | 18 (11–30) |
| Instinct | 15 (4 people; 6–37) |
| Hark | 13 (9–20) |
| Muse | 9 (7–10) |
| Grok Bot | 8 (6–11) |
| Hermes Agent | 3 |
| OpenClaw | 3 |
| ChatGPT Dots | 2 |
| Poke | 0 (1 candidate; 0–25) |

*Candidates are praise posts that name a stored record. We read every candidate for seven agents and a random 80 people each for Grok Bot and Muse, then scaled by the share that met the rule. Gemini Spark is collected from X and YouTube only; Grok Bot and Muse also include app-store reviews and Reddit. On X and YouTube alone: Grok Bot 9 (6–12), Muse 10 (6–13). ## Where it holds back

In a separate, fully read count of people who say a personal agent asks for approval too often, thirteen judged Gemini Spark, and at least eight were working on their own records. Three were deleting mail or calendar events, three had a scheduled chore stop for a yes, two of them on every run, and two were asked at every step while working in a list or a Notion page.

A YouTube commenter took Spark up on one of its own suggested tasks and "[specifically asked it to delete those emails i had since 2012, more or less, and it asked for authorization for each one, so i went to the inbox and did it manually.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNdV_1NfqkU&lc=Ugx5DPtP6dCL41y1b2d4AaABAg.AaN-2W5X09DAaRdRLqZNrG)" Another, clearing a calendar, wrote that it "[required approval every time i deleted an event, so i entrusted it to chatgpt work](https://twitter.com/17202355/status/2103818012243677577)".

Scheduled runs are less consistent. One routine set for eight every morning would "[ask for confirmation to move folder to drive](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B9PFOKXI-k&lc=UgwVFzw1G_gVm_-X0LR4AaABAg)" each day, while another user's daily check, approved twenty times on an earlier run, "[now it arrives daily without acceptance](https://twitter.com/1735888434332647424/status/2106564110322479414)".

**Exhibit 2: Where Spark's users meet the approval prompt, against the field.** People who said the agent asked for approval more often than they wanted, per 1,000 people who judged it. Every approval post read under one rule; 95% intervals in brackets.

| | Per 1,000 judging people |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT Dots | 19 (15–24) |
| Gemini Spark | 17 (10–28) |
| Muse | 1.5 |
| Hermes Agent | 1.4 |
| Grok Bot | 1.3 |
| OpenClaw | 1.2 |
| Hark | 0 (0–2.4) |
| Instinct | 0 (0–14) |
| Poke | 0 (0–25) |

*Of Spark's 13 people, 8 were working on their own records: 3 deleting, 3 on a scheduled chore, 2 asked at every step while working in a list or a Notion page. One author who writes daily news digests is removed from Spark's count. Gemini Spark is collected from X and YouTube only; on those channels alone its share of the field would predict fewer than three such people. ChatGPT Dots launched 2026-09-29. Hark launched 2026-10-06. Poke is collected from its maker's X handle only. n = 50,972 judging people, 786 for Gemini Spark. Source: public posts; Feedback Bench 1.1 labels. Posts 31 Aug to 18 Oct 2026.*

The thirteen are more than ten times the rate among people judging Muse, Grok Bot, Hermes Agent or OpenClaw, level within the margin with ChatGPT Dots, which launched on 29 September. Hark, which launched on 6 October, had none among 1,573 people; Instinct and Poke had none, on too few people to compare. On X and YouTube alone, Spark's share of the field would predict fewer than three.

## Google's rule, as users meet it

The pause fits a rule Google wrote down. Its help page says Gemini "is designed to ask for your review and confirmation before it completes certain actions", among them "modifying your data". Deleting mail is not on the page's list of Gmail actions, so we could not tell why Spark asks for each message. One user read the consent screen as "[creation is done without confirmation. only deletion has a confirmation dialog in the design.](https://twitter.com/1019465642917838848/status/2095674426708869548)" Caution belongs on deletion. What users push against is the unit, one yes per item.

Google already has exceptions of the right shape. The same page says "Gemini can perform bulk actions on private tasks in Google Tasks without your confirmation", and one user reported that a custom connector can be switched to full access. We found nothing similar for Gmail, Calendar or Drive on Google's help pages as of 17 October. One user found that it "[doesn't matter how many times i give explicit confirmation](https://twitter.com/143419770/status/2103572142851838008)" in the request; the prompts still came one email at a time.

## What it suggests

The first change is one approval for a reviewed deletion in the person's own Gmail, Calendar or Drive: Spark shows the full list and asks once. The second is to offer a scheduled task in the person's own labels and folders the choice that user describes for custom connectors, approving the scope once when the schedule is created; Google's schedules page already promises tasks that "run automatically in the background". Sending, buying and anything outside that scope would still ask.

## Limits

The counts are small. Twenty-three people praise the chores and eight hit the pause on their own records, out of about eight hundred who judged Spark. Google's help page says the feature is not available with a work or school account, one user's sheet edits failed with a "[server error](https://twitter.com/1985457081672159232/status/2108911301229765111)", and another's inbox clean-up "[reached the five-hour limit after deleting only a few](https://twitter.com/2337340022/status/2102632756958347609)".

## How we read this

We read public posts about nine personal agents from 31 August to 18 October 2026; Gemini Spark's come from X search and YouTube only. A person counted toward the strength when a first-hand post praising Spark, even with reservations, said it did a named chore on their own stored records, such as sorting, filing, extracting, logging or scheduling; we left out 26 borderline people and anyone excluded in our shared screen, plus thirteen more authors we found promoting articles, posting invite codes or replying under their own video, a check only Gemini Spark had. The approval counts come from a separate reading of every post the bench labels as about approvals, with one rule for all agents and the shared screen; for Spark we also removed one author who writes daily news digests, and re-read the thirteen left, of whom at least eight were working on their own records. AI agents read and classified the posts under written rules, and the bench labels come from large language models.
